  1. I used to be in a group with season tickets in the upper Deck at the 45yd line. Best seats in the house!
  2. Giants bye week is week 11. As long as they are in contention till then my guess is that Jones sits until after the bye week. No reason to rush the kid. And yes I think Eli is HOF material - probably 1st ballot.
  3. here is a complete list of Miami’s NFL Draft capital for the 2020 draft. – 2020 1st-round pick (MIA) – 2020 1st-round pick (HOU) – 2020 2nd-round pick (MIA) – 2020 2nd-round pick (NO) – 2020 3rd-round pick (MIA) – 2020 3rd-round pick (Comp – Ja’Wuan James) – 2020 4th-round pick (MIA or TEN) – 2020 5th-round pick (MIA) – 2020 5th-round pick (Comp – Cam Wake) – 2020 6th-round pick (MIA) – 2020 6th-round pick (DAL) – 2020 7th-round pick (MIA) – 2020 7th-round pick (KC) Combined with the fact that the Dolphins will most likely be drafting somewhere in the top 5 anyway one would think that they have enough draft capital to move up to get their QB of the future in next years draft. The difference between the Bills and Dolphins is that the Bills already had several pieces (particularly on defence) when they traded up to get Josh Allen. By trading the #10 pick to KC (which turned out to be Mahomes) the Bills got extremely lucky to not only get KC's #1 pick the following year plus pick up Tre White who has become a mainstay in their secondary. They also dipped into the FA market and got Hyde and Poyer at a very reasonable cost. Milano also was a great find in the 5th rd of the 2017 NFL Draft. Beane also was able to get Tremaine Edmunds by moving up in the 1st rd after taking Josh at pick #7. If Minkah Fitspatrick is indeed the good young player he appears to be, I think Miami would be foolish to trade him even for a #1 which I doubt that they would get for him.
  4. I frankly don't care what any of these so called experts say. If the Bills bring their "A" game they WILL beat the Giants. And I believe that they will do just that. I don't believe in "jinxes" either. Bet on the Bills to win!
  5. heres the link to PFT: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/09/12/sam-darnold-could-be-out-4-6-weeks/ They have any early bye week (wk 4) that should help but this is just more bad news for Jet fans...
  6. Agreed that Singletary should get more touches. However, keep in mind that he is a rookie. He is not used to playing 16 games in one season at this point in his career. A lot of rookies tend to "burn out" if used too much in their rookie seasons. Remember also that with preparing for the Combine he has not had a typical "offseason" to rest up either. All in all it is probably a good idea to ease him in slowly to the offense rather than to risk burning him out too quickly. That is especially true if we want him to be ready for a playoff game or two...
  7. Back when I was in HS (admittedly quite a # of years ago now) Math 11 was Trigonometry. Math 10 was Geometry and I believe Math 9 was Algebra. Math 12 was Calculus...
  8. Here is some of what I saw on one of the NYG Blogs just now: Anyone who has any game 'penciled in for a win' mikeinbloomfield : 9:02 am : link hasn't been paying attention. I don't think Josh Allen is all that good, but any QB will have good numbers when he has all day to throw. The only penciling in of a win Mike in Long Beach : 9:44 am : link is happening on the Bills side. It's up to use to pull off an upset. Not the other way around. I'm still concerned Simms11 : 10:08 am : link more with the defense. John Brown abd our old buddy Cole Beasley will be running circles around our confused, overmatched secondary! Penciled in a win? Johnny5 : 10:53 am : link Not sure who is doing that. Personally, I'll actually be somewhat shocked if we win this game. I haven’t penciled anything in 5BowlsSoon : 11:06 am : link I noticed they were #15 in rushing yards allowed, 115 per game (155 per game last 3 weeks). I agree, less of Eli, more of Saquon. As for our defense.....?????? Does lax counsel : 11:07 am : link Anyone have any Giants opponent penciled in as a win? Especially with the Giants 8-24 record over the past two seasons, and from a broader perspective, their record since 2013? I'm sure Miami Dolphins fans look at the Giants now and say "hey, the might be our opportunity to get one win this year." EE is going to have a tough outing BigBlueDownTheShore : 11:14 am : link Edmunds can split out wide and cover WRs if they need him too. I see him being matched up on EE for the majority of the game if we split him out wide. Interesting Coach Red Beaulieu : 11:49 am : link So let's not hand off to Saquon. - Pat Shermer This was known before the season... Dan in the Springs : 12:00 pm : link but you are correct, there have been countless prediction threads, articles, opinions, etc. marking this down as a win. I always found it stunning how many had this down as not just a win, but an "easy win". Now that the Giants looked ugly in Dallas, there's been a major shift in prediction, but it's certainly true that prior to week 1 many NFL prognosticators had this down as a win. Why is this surprising? They have a good defense, Edmunds is Zeke's Alibi : 12:05 pm : link A ***** monster. The offense is explosive as well. Anyone thinking this is a cake walk is mistaken. Actually if we pull out a win I think we can start thinking a 8-8 season which is what most of us thought going in. Don't forget: the Bills also have Davis Webb CT Charlie : 12:16 pm : link to reveal all our schemes! Seriously, we'll lose unless our O-line can generate a surge for Saquon: 3yds-5yds-3yds has to be automatic. Bills Defense is Really Good armstead98 : 12:21 pm : link I think the most important metric is yards per play and last year they were third in the league. This year (yes, only one week) they're first. It's safe to expect that the Giants are going to have trouble moving the ball. Yes, but. CT Charlie : 1:02 pm : link Yards per play is important, but because passing plays typically gain more yards than running plays (except in our offense lately...) A team that's tops at defending the pass could still be relatively weak against the run and overall have a very stingy combined average. I’m expecting darren in pdx : 1:05 pm : link this game to be a loss for the Giants. Until the defense starts to play like a unit they aren’t going to win any games. Hopefully it was just week one NFL sloppiness. From Big Blue Interactive.com
  9. I seem to recall that there were rumors prior to the draft that Cleveland also liked Mayfield and Allen over Darnold as well. I still believe that all three will have solid careers. And I also would like to say that while the Jets front office were waiting on Bell to agree to terms Beane was going out and signing OL help and some good WR's in Brown and Beasley. Bell is a good player to be sure but in the long run Singletary may prove to be the better choice at RB. If this season goes down the tubes for the Jets I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets clean house once again.
  10. I think Singletary will get more touches this week and as the season goes along but lets remember that he is still a rookie and you don't want to put too much pressure on the kid too soon. Same goes with "ED". Keep the rotation going and keep the players fresh would be my thinking. Also start integrating Yeldon into the offense more as well.
  11. I have to presume it was a good call. I didn't see anybody protesting the call either at the time or post-game either. However, I did think that I saw the Jet player taunting Allen on the play too, which wasn't called. Like someone else said, it's usually the 2nd guy who gets caught though...
  12. Two thumbs up on this pick... Such wonderful eyes... yeah...
  13. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KellJi00.htm Completion Percentages 59.4, 59.7, 59.5 of Jim Kelly's 1st 3 seasons as a Buffalo Bill. Using the OP's standards he was never going to amount to anything - right? Should have cut him after these three horrible seasons - Yes? Kelly's TD/Int his first 3 seasons: 22/17, 19/11, 15/17 Horrible - right? This guy obviously sucked and should have been cut after his 1st 3 seasons - Right? Kelly BTW was 26 yrs old that 1st season. His won/loss records those 1st 3 seasons: 4-12, 7-8, 12/4. But some so called fans want to crucify Allen after one partial season???
  14. Gotta Link? Although I do recall some rumors at the time, I have not actually seen anything definitive confirming it. Until then we will never know for sure. Suppose he decided to draft someone else? Would we still have Tyrod Taylor playing QB? As I recall there was a lot of chatter about OJ Howard (TE) that year just to name one possible alternate Whaley pick... If Allen takes this team to the playoffs, how does that affect the Mahomes/Watson pick at #10 that year? Factoring in Tre White as well?
  15. I believe Ryan Allen is still out there too...
  16. I honestly don't hold Whaley in "high regard". I will go with McBeane any day of the week. I question what Whaley would have done if he hadn't apparently been told to trade the first rd pick to KC for what turned out to be Tre White and the extra 1st rd pick the following year. Would we still be watching Tyrod Taylor playing QB for this team? Would Whaley have drafted either Mahomes or Watson with the pick? Ultimately we should have a better read on McBeane at the end of this season. Hopefully Allen stays healthy all season. And I have to say that this defense in particular seems like the strongest the Bills have had in quite some time. McDermott and his defensive coaches have created one of the deepest defensive rosters with Beanes help. Beane may not be a god but I don't see why we have to have this conversation right now to begin with. Can't it wait until the end of this season at least?
  17. Just one question: If you were Clowney and got traded to Miami against your wishes and know that after this season is over you could leave there - what would you do? Nuff said...
  18. Wouldn't be surprised if the Bills move a receiver before the weekend is out too...
  19. Barring injury to Allen I think 9 wins would be a solid outcome for this team. I think FG's will decide several of these games.
  20. I'd rest ALL the starters for this game. No need to chance injury on a truly meaningless game like this. Barkley should be rested as well. Give Tyree the whole game so we can see his progress.
  21. I see the Bills at 2-2 after the first 4 games with a chance to be 3-1. Jets game could well be a last second FG type of outcome. I wouldn't freak out if they lose to the Jets as I have a really good feeling about the Jets game at the end of the season going the Bills way. As I've said before, injuries are gonna be the key to success as they always are. Allen needs to stay healthy. 9-7 should be attainable, perhaps even 10-6 with a break or two.
  22. Frankly, I'm happy that they held him out of useless preseason games. Why risk your investment in him on stupid preseason games that don't mean squat. Look at all the players across the league who have gone down with season ending injuries already. The Bills have been very fortunate and want to keep it that way. It's the smart thing to do. In the meantime sitting him has given them the opportunity to try out various combinations of other players all along the line for when injuries will occur during the regular season. SMART!
  23. Like everyone else who has responded to this thread, I share your pain and grief. It never gets any easier. If there is a positive side to these things, I think that it reminds us that life is too short - for both us and our furry friends. And despite the pain and heartache we feel at times like this that it reminds us to treat each other and our pets humanely and with compassion. How we treat our pets says a lot about us.
  24. I also find it just a bit unrealistic to think that after sitting out all the preseason that Bell will look like his old self in wk 1 against a Bills defense that will be ready to knock him on his a$$.
