  1. But unfortunately, the NFL is for Not For Long League...So different rates for different pupil doesn't cut it in today's NFL
  2. Even Brady cannot win with Nobody's....He still had elite players in Edelman and Rob. Hopefully, the Bills found one in Brown, Colesly and Knox
  3. He has to show it on the field on a consistent basis...day in day out. His legend will continue to grow as he grows. He has to show that he is cutting down his mental mistakes and playing a mistake free game...He has now done it two weeks in a row...one on the road and one at home. If he continues to do that and put the team in a good position to win, he will win the hearts of the city and the NFL. In 2002, I remember a rookie Big Ben being asked to play a Game Manager while his defense and ST played lights out on their way to the AFC Conference title and the SB next year. Coach Cowher knew how to keep the strong armed QB from making mistakes and play smart football. His stats were not that great...but he never had to do anything like a super hero. Our team needs to do the same...
  4. Physically yes. But those trades/cuts were necessary as those players were over-hyped and over paid. None of them have gone on to be all-pro's for any teams. Agreed. Time will tell Agreed. Beane has tried hard this year on the OL after doing nothing last year. However, the results have been mixed. We are yet to see a solid OL that is winning CONSISTENTLY in the trenches. That is the hallmark of great teams. Our OL play has been underwhelming for the money poured in it. Agreed. They also traded for that Cleveland WR (forget his name) and still we are lagging behind in this spot. Jones did not work out as a high draft pick that also required additional draft capital for a trade up. This is a tricky one. You can't pay 12M to a guy who has under performed. You are setting wrong expectations especially when your stars like Hyde and Poyer are making peanuts. The important point is that Beane is TRYING. If you don't even try, then how do you expect to win. Has he been successful; at this point I would say less than stellar...but if Allen turns out to be a Franchise QB, then all wiill be forgotten. What Beane has done is take the formula of building the team with good draft picks that can last their 4-5 rookie contract. After all a GM and HC get only around 4 years to turn a team around.
  5. However, that five year process fails, if you don't get a Franchise QB. Everything pivots around having a successful Franchise QB
  6. May be in the North East ! (NY, DC, Boston, Philly)
  7. The way they did this in the old days was easy. They just sat young QBs for a couple of years to learn and adjust to the speed of the NFL. We have lost that ability today in the NFL. We are throwing young QBs to the wolves and the results are not pretty...they are bruised and battered physically and emotionally. they see ghosts walking.... fix the problem by being patient with your young QB...Don't boo him out of your stadium....
  8. Isn''t that all muscle memory irrespective of the situation?
  9. I think he tried that in thee NE game and did not work. He was not able to lead the WR to the spot. Instead he under threw repeatedly and was picked off. Probably the "Ghosts" of NE is haunting him now and we should not "air" it ?
  10. who cares...just win baby!
  11. It would cost a 1st round pick. I don't think Beane will give up a 1st round pick
  12. The Bills would have punched in that 1st and goal in the 4th quarter if Allen was on the field. I am not saying we would have won the game, but we would have made the Pats sweat it out. and scoring points. We have not been able to convert our drives to TDs too often. Against the Patriots in the 1st half, we drove to their side of the field only to turn over the ball. Against Miami, we scored FGs and that came back to scare them. That is tied with Accuracy of the QB...Allen is still a work in progress (albeit a good one)
  13. He has to first get on the field.
  14. I think we need to see what Kroft can do before we make any moves. Kroft and Knox bring size match up issues. Can Daboll exploit by putting both of them on the field.
  15. and that too on a short field and a mis-read by the LB
  16. Considering the success Allen is having in the 4th quarter where a sense of urgency seems to lift his play, should the bills consider running an uptempo offense at the start of the game? Thoughts?
  17. How could he do if the Dolphins had the ball for 11 minutes in the 3rd quarter ?
  18. Agreed. Let these criticism be motivation for him to do better....like Brady in 2001
  19. Why? The most important thing is the win. As long as Allen is helping the team win, I could care less if he did not have his coming out game.
  20. I assume White will get his Fifth year tender. Poyer, Milano and Dawkins would need to get paid, especially Poyer...He has been one of the best safeties in the NFL.
  21. I would have taken that game if it was in Buffalo, It is in Dallas and on Thanksgiving. Usually the home teams are dominant on that day. Yes. Especially 3 of the 5 are on the road (@Dallas, @Steelers, @Patriots)
  22. Am worried about OBJ. He has not been able to connect with Baker Mayfield, a lot more accurate QB than Allen.
  23. +1. He has been a life saver for me everyday on my morning commutes.
  24. But Gilmore did not play at the same level while in BUffalo. It could have been due to bad coaching or the player preserving himself for the big contract and to play with a contender. He didn;'t want to play a second contract with Buffalo.
  25. There are two things to avoid: - Don't assume they are a bad team...and fall into the trap. - Assume they are a bad team - Don't play down to their level and hence make yourself vulnerable.
