Pretty shocking stat I just heard on Michael Kay Show
QCity replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody with a lick of football sense thought the Bills were supposed to be contenders this year. A bunch of cheerleaders wearing rose-colored glasses made Super Bowl plans after we beat the Jets and Dolphins. The offseason narrative was that 1) Josh would improve as a passer and 2) we had the best chance to win our division. Both are coming true. -
He made the right call by the traditional book and even by many advanced statistical models. So if it happens again I hope he does opt for the single point. Is there a model for going against Mahomes on a rainy, wet field, in a windy stadium when your defense has given up 250yds on the ground? No, so I guess that leaves room for an argument. Regardless, it wasn't the reason we lost the game.

Dolphins name Tua Tagovailoa starting QB going forward

Odd fact: He's actually right-handed. QB life is nice in Alabama when you have 10 seconds to throw. Playing your first game against Aaron Donald won't be so nice. -
The Eagles are a walking infirmary right now. After Sunday they have 2 starters left on offense, Wentz and Kelce. Two.

Ferrari's don't handle well in the rain. That's why KC put theirs away and brought out the 4x4. -

Another Prime Time a$$-kicking. -
That's debatable. He did most of his damage as an OLB, and now that's he's lost a step and had to make the switch to a hand-on-the-ground DE, let's just say it isn't going so well for him. There are better ways to spend $11.6M.

This would have been a nice idea 6 years ago.

I'm going to say Arizona. Drake has been a huge disappointment for them and their RB coach is his old coach from Pittsburgh when he was lighting it up.

Star gets most of his hate because of his contract. We definitely miss him and Phillips, those two could at least soak multiple blockers and free our ends up. There's not an OL in the league that's worried about our D-Line.

I've said this before, but the majority of our fanbase cares little about what is deemed quality or accurate reporting. They just want to be told over and over how good the team will be. Anything to the contrary just brings out the vitriol. -
Barnwell changes his tune. 🎺

This has always been the case around here. Praise for the team will always be regarded higher than anything else. -
lol The end of an era. But he's probably only going to win 1 Super Bowl going forward. What a trainwreck.

Ryan Fitzpatrick: Hall of Famer? or First Ballot HoFer?
QCity replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
What blows my mind about Fitz is how freaking durable the guy is. Even at 37 he looks spry. There's something about his stance in the pocket and the way he distributes his weight that makes him seem invincible back there. In like 15 years of play it took a broken leg to get him off the field, at least that's the only serious injury I can recall. -
I'm not saying PFF is infallible, I'm merely trying to explain their methodology -- and I understand that may be nigh impossible to some here. You can't use 3 or 4 stats to discount their conclusions. We already have metrics to compare QB's based on throwing stats like passer rating and QBR. I'll illustrate this one more time using an extreme example, and then I'll bow out to let the PFF bashing party resume. Let's say QB #1 goes 0/20 for 0 yards, 0 TD 0 INT. Every single pass is absolutely perfect - on time, hits each receiver right between the numbers into both hands, but is dropped. 20 dropped passes! QB #2 goes 14/20 for 200 yards, 2 TD 1 INT. Yup, PFF is going to grade QB #1 higher, even though he didn't complete a single pass! He had ZERO yards throwing! Are they nuts?!? Their rationale is, "Look, QB #1 did everything perfectly, get him some receivers that can catch and that line would be 20/20 for 300 yards 3TD 0INT. Again, I'm not saying this is the best way to compare players, but you can't point at stats to claim their method is hogwash because it's really not a results-driven methodology.
