It didn't "burn" them. They received their pick a round later than anticipated. They're not going to change their entire front office philosophy because a handful of fans, who don't understand the system to begin with, are throwing a tantrum.
Couldn't the same be said about the people cheering him on?
I can guarantee you one thing, if we would have drafted a burner like Worthy there wouldn't be people claiming 40 times don't matter.
Maybe he's our Ziggy Ansah. For those that don't remember, Ansah was from Ghana and made it to BYU on a track scholarship. He ran a 10.91 in the 100 meter dash at 6'6" 280lbs (which is absolutely freaking insane). They pushed him into football but he had never even seen a snap before. They literally had to show him how to put on pads. Turned into a pretty darn good DE for his first 5 years before injuries derailed his career.
It's a fair point, and I admittedly did not see every FSU game. But even before Travis went down he was pacing for a 750 yard season. The comparisons to Hopkins are lunacy.
More like 2 games, LSU and Syracuse. The guy was MIA for the last half of the season. I don't question his athleticism, but the production isn't there. I assumed these comparisons to Hopkins and Evans are tongue-in-cheek jokes.
Brind'Amour is a pipe dream. He took a discount on his last extension ($1.8M/yr) when he probably could have got double that on the open market. He appreciates ownership and his GM and said his family loves the area and has no intent to move. Adams also said he wants to "move quickly" and a Carolina playoff run doesn't jibe with that.
There are legitimate reasons to hire Ruff besides nostalgia, he's got a no-nonsense style and will hold young players accountable.
