  1. Embarrassed for a minute? This is going to follow him around until he dies. I'm anticipating some great crowd chants and signs at New Era for next year's game.
  2. He's had 3 concussions in the last 4 years, the last of which landed him in concussion protocol for 5 weeks. There's a lot of wishful thinking at this time of the year to simply hand-wave this sort of thing off, but it is a concern. The man plays in the trenches.
  3. People are predicting his worth with AAV which is likely insignificant in this situation. Ansah wants what every 30yr old FA with an injury wants -- term. He wants a contract that will keep him in one place for 5+ years with GTD money. The Bills (and every other team) want to give him a front-loaded contract that they can walk away from after 2 years if things go south (i.e. the type of contract where AAV truly means nothing). Signing him to a contract that says he makes $50M over 5 yrs doesn't mean squat if a team can cut bait on him after 1 yr.
  4. Do you know what the problem is with judging a player based on highlight videos? All they show is highlights. I mean, Kelvin Benjamin has a highlight video out too.
  5. His tank looked pretty empty last year. He really lost a few steps. I don't think you are going to see a resurgence at 34.
  6. Because he was born in Ghana, where birth records are inaccurate, we may never know his true age. There have been reports that he is actually 2 years older than he states. Ansah is one of the more intriguing players in the NFL, and I've been closely following his career. He is an absolutely incredible athlete. He moved to the US after acceptance into an international program at BYU and had no previous knowledge of American sports. He was a walk-on to the BYU track team. At 6'6" and 270lbs he ran the 100 meter dash in 10.9 secs which was ridiculous for a man of his size. It caused jaws to drop and coaches in their football program scrambled to recruit him. Not only did he have no idea how the game was played, he didn't even know how to put on pads. He basically learned how to play football as a sophomore and junior in college. He's a fascinating story who's carved out a nice career for himself in the NFL.
  7. No, division rivals getting better is not good for the Bills.
  8. He's a massive idiot. Why would you pay him a $20M signing bonus just to ship him out of town months later? Cleveland is basically getting OBJ for 5yrs $75M with only $19M GTD. That's insane. It's $15M AAV.
  9. I'll just copy/paste my post from the other thread - Paying big money to a RB on his second contract is one of the stupidest things a GM can do in this era.
  10. Some contracts, like Kroft's, are paying for potential rather than past history. I'd bet money there is an out there after year 1 if he doesn't pan out. You can't get into a long-term contract with a guy with concussion history like Morse (3 in 4 years). It's actually pretty risky as it is. I'd also wager that most of these contracts can be walked away from after 2 years with little dead money. We'll see in the next few days when figures are released. Front-loading now while you have the space is prudent.
  11. Yup. He'll add players and patch holes with his 12 draft picks.
  12. Great signing and a great contact by the Panthers.
  13. The narrative won't be put to bed because it's true. It will end when either A) It stops snowing in this region or B) The team starts competing in Super Bowls.
  14. 34 rec 601 yds with Flacco. 8 rec 117 yds over last 7 games with Jackson for those wondering.
  15. Paying big money to a RB on his second contract is one of the stupidest things a GM can do in this era.
  16. It's tradition around here for people to lose their marbles over the backup RB position.
  17. Basically swapping Ivory for Gore. /shrug.
  18. Yeah that's an easy 3rd next year.
  19. Daryl Williams and his agent must be loving this.
  20. The inferiority complex of our fanbase is no joke. Terry should consider giving out coupons for psychiatric help to season ticket holders.
  21. Yeah I don't get it. By the time (if) the team is competitive Brown will be gone. I guess the organization needs some headlines to stir up excitement.
