  1. This is one of those games that stirred up so many of the "Guys, what exactly is Garbage Time?" threads.
  2. You can't really tag an ILB. They get lumped together with the expensive OLB pass rushers when it comes to calculating the tag amount. They would wind up paying him like over $15M a year.
  3. Probably the only good hire Rex made when he was here. That beach chair-throwing drunk knows how to coach an O-line.
  4. There's nothing ridiculous or complex about it. The value it's based on is the amount that player signs for. I've been discussing this on this forum for a decade, but it typically draws blank stares and for some reason is equated to particle physics. This is not an accident. They aren't participating in some behind-the-scenes shenanigans. These are calculated moves that takes years of foresight to pull off correctly. Ozzie Newsome is the man who wrote the book on gaming the comp pick system, and the Pats front office has shown over the years that it's taking it to the next level. Bills' past GM's such as Nix, Whaley, Brandon, Levy, etc, etc, had no clue what was going on in regards to this and were incapable of seeing that far into the future to pull it off. So it sort of makes sense that a large portion of our fan base doesn't understand what's happening here.
  5. Nick Foles. Err, wait a minute...
  6. The previous FO "outfoxed" Miami by offering him a contact structured in a way that made it very difficult for Miami to match. Then they celebrated when Miami didn't match it. As Miami watched us shoot ourselves in the foot.
  7. I said this before the season started. Unless he agrees to some insane restructure he's as good as gone.
  8. As some have stated, probably wouldn't be a huge factor at New Era where heavy tailgating is the standard. Now the KeyBank Center for concerts and Sabres games would be interesting.
  9. Since demolishing the Georgia Dome and opening their state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz stadium right next door, the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons have re-written the rules when it comes to concession sales.
  10. Probably still less embarrassing to wear in public too.
  11. If your RB is the most important player on your offense you don't have an offense. Bills fans should understand this.
  12. You put Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers on that KC team and they don't throw for 50 TDs. They are HOF QBs and have never come close to that number. That's how good of a season this kid had.
  13. Yeah. The NFL MVP would be of no use to us.....
  14. Inside LB coach. They actually have another guy for outside LBs. So he's basically coaching 4 people lol
  15. I'm of the opinion that the conference title games have typically been more exciting anyways.
  16. Just a little bit early for this.
  17. Hmm 30 years old in May and has only played a full 16-game schedule twice in his career. He's a tremendous talent but keeping him on the field is a lottery ticket. I'd love to see him on the team at a reasonable salary but I think some team is going to break the bank for him.
  18. It's a very interesting topic, but the Jags would only get $11M of cap relief in 2019. I certainly don't think any team would part with a 2nd round pick for that. Then again the Jags financials are a complete mess and they will be forced to cut Dareus and Gipson this offseason and they will still be in rough shape, but I don't think they are that desperate yet. But yeah, that would be an incredible move for us if that scenario arises. Edit: Ahh never mind, they can simply release him post June 1st and realize a cap savings of $9.5M, which means the Osweiler plan is likely D.O.A.
  19. The Saint's previous "cap space hell" issue had nothing to do with Brees contract, and everything to do with Loomis's reckless overspending. Ironically, Brees actually covers up a large portion of his GMs missteps and is likely the only reason he still has a job. The "rookie-QB window" is basically a fallacy and only an issue for GM's that don't know how to properly construct a roster, and even then it isn't a problem if the QB is exceptionally great.
  20. The story after the game is the same one we've been hearing for a decade -- Brady masterful, especially when it counts and Belichick is a genius. I mean, it's true, but it really is lazy reporting. If that last pick counted the narrative would have been completely different. You would have heard questions such as "When's the last time Brady threw 3 INT's in a big game? When's the last time Brady choked on a game winning drive with an INT? When's the last time Belichick, the master of halftime adjustments, got outcoached in the 2nd half and saw his defense get steamrolled to the tune of 31 pts? Completely different takes all because a guy lined up a 1/2 yd Offside.
  21. Ouch, I feel for the Chiefs fans. Dee Ford lining up in the neutral zone is going to haunt them for a long time.
  22. I don't think it's possible to ruin an offense quarterbacked by Rodgers, but this might test that theory.
  23. Every Watkins thread is a testament to how hard it is to admit you're wrong on the internet. Julio Jones? I'm really hoping Reggie Ragland can muster a tackle in the 2nd half so we can lament losing the next Luke Kuechly.
