  1. Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, Kelvin Benjamin, Brandin Cooks, Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry, John Brown, and more. One of the deepest WR classes in history and we traded up for one
  2. What are you even talking about? Carr is having a pretty good season for only having a TE to throw to. He isn't going anywhere and he isn't the problem.
  3. Just the game. His head coaching career is over.
  4. Lynn letting his rookie QB throw on 3rd and 2 while in FG range was something else.
  5. Yeah, what is the problem with just streaming it from NBC.com?
  6. Other than Belichick, there isn't a single head coach in the league that has more than 1 Superbowl win. So, no, that question doesn't really give us anything.
  7. It's the same thing with Yankee fans. They demand excellence every single year and have a meltdown at the first sign of trouble, no matter how slight. Our fans are polar opposites, they generally forgive the team regardless of how bad they play (most of the last 2 decades).
  8. He's underrated. One of the best team leaders in the game and commands complete respect from his players. Never had a losing season in 14 years. Despite winning a Superbowl, his best coaching effort may have been last year when he somehow went 8-7 with Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges under center. If for some crazy reason Pittsburgh ever got rid of him, he would not be unemployed long.
  9. What Jefferson is doing as a rookie is quite amazing, he certainly conjures up memories of Moss. The guy was a beast at LSU and in a few years he may be considered the top WR in the NFL. But here's what many forget -- if we don't make that trade there's no guarantee we would have drafted him.
  10. Never underestimate the lengths our fans will go to feel slighted.
  11. He was an absolute beast tonight. Played the role of safety valve most of the game but also showed off his hands downfield, and his blocking was excellent. He's really upping his game as this season goes on.
  12. The article also touches on the incredible longevity of his career. Another thing to consider is they did not have the modern turf they use today in the NFL. The gridiron in Rich Stadium was basically a parking lot with a green outdoor patio carpet on it. Another quote - As a member of the NFL Competition Committee circa 1990, Polian recalled the group considering a suggestion from someone in the league to outlaw blocking below the waist. It went nowhere, but not before Polian had a memorable exchange with Dolphins coach Don Shula. “Coach Shula said, ‘That’s ridiculous. How are you going to block Bruce Smith if you can’t block below the waist?’” Polian said. “I jokingly said, ‘I’m for it.’ Coach Shula laughed and said, ‘Sure, you would be. If we had that rule, nobody would ever block him.’”
  13. That, is a very good article. “Keep in mind, Reggie and I were the best of friends,” Smith said. “I loved Reggie to death. We were two completely different styles of players. Reggie was built for power. He’s like a Mack truck. I guess I was the sports car. We didn’t talk about this very often, but we did have one or two conversations about it. Reggie said, ‘Bruce, if you ever played in a 4-3 defense, you would have never been touched.’ And I agree with that.
  14. To quote Tom Jackson, "KNOCK IT DOWN"
  15. I usually just laugh at these "Git 'R Dun" threads, but this one actually has merit if the team thinks Brown will be out for a while.
  16. Not a factor really, I've heard his era is over.
  17. You need to re-read that article. Pegula was the only one banging the table for Mahomes. Whaley and Monos weren't picking him at 10, and naively thought he would be there at 27
  18. Just to show how far kicking has come in the last 40 years, Mike-Mayer lasted 11 years in the NFL and boasted a 56.4% FG rate. In 11 years in the league he made 1 FG over 50 yds. He was slightly better than a coin toss every time he lined up to kick!
  19. I'm guessing he gets 2 more games, including another one against that generous Atlanta D. Credit the offensive gameplan for hiding his passing limitations, but that's the type of player than when you "make him be a QB" will fall apart real quick.
  20. They are arguably the worst defense in the league against the pass. The fact that the Saints play them twice in the next 3 weeks certainly played a factor into putting Brees on IR (has to miss 3 weeks now).
