Before the Atlanta collapse in the SB, I never thought a collapse of even 17 pts was possible in the playoffs. But the Chargers didnt just lose the game on the field their collapse was mental. How a team can let another team off the mat like that without applying the dagger to them is absolutely nuts. The Chargers literally panicked and played a perfect game for a Jags comeback in the second half. Sure the plays weren't made and stupid plays were (Bosa esp) but I think that is all on the Staley not preparing his team at the half and not taking chances with the playcalling on Offense in the 2nd. Absolutely outcoached by DP.

I thought Al had a "YUGE" performance tonight! Actually, I was glad the game became interesting for him considering the stinkers he has had all season. Etienne's name is old school French so I guess Et tee en would be the way to do it.

As soon as the Chargers couldnt get it done on their last offensive series I knew this was over. Staley if he had any balls or brains should have faked the punt on 4th down and ran the ball. Its not like it would have made any difference if they had failed. By the middle of the 4th, the Chargers D was gassed and Bosa mouthing off to the refs insured that they were not going to get any holding calls or breaks. It amazes me that these coaches are so useless in the moment.

Ravens and Lamar do not reach contract agreement
Livinginthepast replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would Lamar be playing on Sunday had this contract been worked out? and now he is not, is he out the door? -
I have replayed Wide right through my mind so many times in the last 32 years. That kick goes through and everything changes going forward. They definitely go into the 1991 season with a swagger of a winner not the false bravado they had. They probably win at least 1 more SB because they dont choke or panic when things unravel (just as they did in the next 3) As for this current team, 13 seconds should be a serious motivation. I cannot believe that any of the people who experienced it on the Bills dont feel angry or cheated. They won that game and then choked it away with bad execution and coaching. I'm hoping that the Bills with all of this season's adversity, find another level and finally get it done. I think most pro teams would have folded by now so hopefully luck/karma is coming our way!

Tua ruled out vs Buffalo, Skylar Thompson expected to start
Livinginthepast replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills need to focus and not take the Fins lightly, no matter that they are facing a 3rd string. They need to get up early and not let them hang around. No more of these opening drives TDs or long drives given up to opposition. This way they can pile on the pressure and force Thompson into bad decisions in desperation as the game wears on. And can we please get out of this game without getting banged up? rest some starters in the 4th and get some backups in there for experience! -
Dolphins at Bills 1995 AFC Wild Card Game
Livinginthepast replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brent Musburger!!! He was still on the A list of NFL broadcasters in 1995. Funny I had forgotten all about him. Now I only remember this controversy about Katherine Webb from 2013. Looking back Musburger was absolutely right. Webb was smoking hot! -
My 10 hopes for the playoff run

I prefer the Lawrence Taylor approach, find out where the opposition is staying and send over some ladies to "take care of them" for most of the night! -

That's all I care about. I, need a multitude of past pain exorcised by this! -
I read this story about this guy when it popped up on Twitter a couple of weeks ago and then read a couple of obituaries about him. There are several, but here is one. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/11/28/dion-rich-dies-super-bowl-gatecrasher-appreciation/ This guy was quite a character! The Landry pic is an altime classic! The one thing that made me melancholy about reading this story is really reminded me of how much the world has changed since this guy's heyday. With the heavy security everywhere at public events this wouldn't be possible!

Ive been wondering this since the beginning of the season. How many positive plays are 100% on Josh and his brilliance. It seemed to me that Dabol scripted more plays that actually worked than Dorsey has but I would love to see some sort of real breakdown of this.

Thoughts on the pass defense?
Livinginthepast replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. We are going to be in a track meet each game if our defense keeps spotting teams easy TDs and long drives and Josh and the O will have to be close to perfect. -
Thoughts on the pass defense?
Livinginthepast replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes they give up fewer points as games go on , but how much of that is due to the pressure our OFFENSIVE success has on the opposition. When our Offense clicks we are usually up by 10 points which allows some breathing room for our D to take some risks. This also causes the opposition to get desperate and reduces their offensive productivity. I'm not sure that I can credit this to Fraziers defensive adjustments. In addition, we can get away with this against crap teams but look at what happened in the Vikings game against a half decent pass offense. We let them back into the game. -
Thoughts on the pass defense?
Livinginthepast replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I find the whole strategy in the secondary to be odd to start. Soft zone with a five yard cushion hoping that they sack the QB so there is no pass? Without our best edge rusher? Whats even odder is the frequency of times that the receivers are wide open, the db doesnt turn around to locate the ball, the db doesnt try to break up the pass or separate the receiver from the ball or the db arrives and doesnt make the tackle. Much of this is on the players themselves but Frazier isnt adjusting to the injuries or the realities of this defense at the moment and its really hurting us. Many of these games have been uncomfortably close only because of huge flaw. Frazier should be mixing things up with man defense here and there to throw the offenses off at the very least. Right now its way too easy to go against this defense with all the injuries and 2nd and 3rd string talent starting. -
NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL - Sunday Edition
Livinginthepast replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This play is about as WTF as it gets. Shoving the trainer over without even the slightest reason? Insane! This player is a dumb a$$!. In addition the other GB player elbows the Detroit ball carrier with a purposeful forearm to head in a completely dirty play which causes the injury that the trainer is on the field for and there was no penalty? -

So the Rams have the honor of the worst season ever after a SB win? -

Both of these were big misses by the refs and should have been called. They have so many officials on the field that it is mind boggling how nobody saw either. -
A super bowl run: what needs to happen?
Livinginthepast replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall
Im still waiting for this team to get hot. Its a pretty incredible thing to say about a 13-3 team but I still dont think we have seen the best of what they can do. The Offense has been great but on occasion has sputtered badly. I think the defense has been the opposite, occasionally great but mostly mediocre to poor. If we could just get the current squad to peak and play to the best of their abilities they can win it all. Its 4 games , can they they turn it up a notch? -
