OC Dorsey no regard for clock Management
Livinginthepast replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was actually thinking the time management had been better this year. I seem to recall getting more irate in previous seasons at more lapses in use of timeouts and game management. However I will say that we have been burned by failure to execute getting a first down and killing clock in some games this year simply by drops and lack of focus. The fumble in the endzone by Josh is not on Dorsey. While it makes sense to run it 3 times to kill clock and timeouts in some situations, we are horrible at getting 10 yards on a first or 2nd down run which inevitably puts us in these 3rd down situations where we have to pass and the defenses seem ready for us. Bottom line, the Bills always have to make things as stressful as possible! Yes not a drop but Knox should have brought the ball into his body to make the catch, instead he held it out in front of him where the DB slapped it out. Silly mistake. -
Updated Beasley signing to practice squad
Livinginthepast replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can you imagine the reunion between Beane and Beasley when he returns to the building? Like when you had a fight with your best buddy when you were 12? No eye contact and then "well I'm sorry if you are" and then besties again! -
Why did Saleh continue to play White
Livinginthepast replied to FLBillsGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kelly was still performing at reasonably good level in 1996 but obviously had fallen off from his best. He was much slower and inaccurate in that last season but still far superior to Flacco. I guess what it comes down to it for me is that I respected Kelly for walking away from the game after the injury in that playoff loss. (I was actually at that game and my heart sank at that moment). Kelly knew he was done and wouldnt accept being a mediocre backup to anyone (let alone Todd Collins) whereas Flacco quite happily accepts the paycheque. Who knows maybe Flacco enjoys being a mentor? -

Considering the ridiculous amount of drops this season, the point should be catching the ball. YAC would be nice but catch the damn ball first! and as you say Beasley is a sure thing on that short yardage and might boost our offense in the red zone and 3rd down. -
MNF: Patriots at Cardinals 8:15pm ESPN
Livinginthepast replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just finished watching this game. The Pats got a victory gift from the Cardinals gift wrapped by Hopkins and Kingsbury. I guess Hopkins can go back to his mansion full of cash and Kingsbury, poor guy, can be consoled by his hot AF gf and his job at New Amsterdam. -
The Knox drop I found very annoying. He gets hit in the numbers by Josh and attempts to use only his hands to catch it instead of bringing it the body and making a bread basket catch, which would have kept it away from the DB slapping it out. Unfortunately that's what actually happened. Now I can overlook the mistake because Knox made an excellent athletic play on his TD. McKenzie's ? and Singletary's ? Were totally inexcusable. Brown had a catchable pass but got separated from it and never saw the ball his way again.

Why did Saleh continue to play White

What the hell happened to that guy? The drop off in 10 years was like falling off a 1000ft cliff. And why bother still playing? I get being a backup is easy when you have a bonafide starter but neither of those Jets Qbs (despite the hype for White) is any good. You will be thrust into the game at some point. Yesterday he couldn't have been too stoked to put into the game after seeing White shellacked like that! -
Im hoping the Broncos can win the rematch. If they had not spotted them a sizable lead they might have had an upset.

Bizarre call. The refs made an atrocious error on that. I'm so glad that wasnt on us.

A text book perfect tackle. White's ribs must been broken. Perhaps Milano could teach the other members of the Bills D in technique as that was exceptional!

I thought about this after Wilson tried to barrel through the defenders to the endzone. The 2014 Wilson gets that TD and brushes off the hit. The post 2018 Wilson ? Not so much! He should have slid after the first down. Not only was he seeing stars, he had a huge golf ball goose egg on his forehead.

I thought Hyde was great but I really underestimated his quality overall. I think he was far more important than most people give him credit for and we have learned through bitter experience this season why. Hyde is a stud in his coverage, interceptions, separating the receiver from the ball and his tackling. In addition, he is really intelligent player with great in game awareness. If he could be back at even 75% I would take him!

Jets at Bills - 2nd half game thread
Livinginthepast replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This might be the worst game of tackling Ive ever seen by a Bills Defense. Jackson is terrible at least 4 missed tackles today. -

The season of drops continues. Funny in the Houston playoff game 3 years people crucified Duke Williams for being separated from the ball on a difficult catch and yet this season we have way better players on the Bills dropping easy passes left and right. -
Hands like a warrior? or hands like a great ape? confused...

My mind has been all over the place on this topic in the past 12 hours. I think the OP is partially correct about Von's actual play impact (to a point) but misses the psychological impact of the injury and Miller not being there. That to me is the biggest part of this. The rest of the team seemed to feed off Von's positivity, calm and leadership under pressure. I really hope that the team can not only survive this but that we see other players step up and just do what they need to do going forward. It would be easy to let this be a devastating gut punch in a season that has had a few of them but now I hope we can see them come together. Time to focus and finish the job this year, no excuses.

Von Miller ACL- Out for Season
Livinginthepast replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall
OMG I'm at work otherwise I would be yelling obscenities at the clouds right now! How can we have this bad luck all season with injuries?? 2 Seasons in a row we lose a major player on defense! Imagine if we had Trey White last year vs KC? Do we finally get over the hump and win the SB? and now this. I know we can get over this and win without Miller but WTF this is so karmically unfair!! -
Diggs takes a lot of these borderline dirty hits. He also takes a lot of clean hard hits where the defenders dont let up at all. I think he gets in the heads of these Dbs and they hate him for it. Also Diggs doesnt let up with his mouth and he is not that "polite", so I think that factors in as well. What I love about Diggs is he gets up after these hits and always walks the walk!

The timing of this for the Titans is pretty unprofessional. You are winning the division, going to make the playoffs relatively easily and you are firing the GM now? At least wait until you lose in the playoffs. What message is this sending the team except "this is a club I dont want to play for".
