Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders 1/7/23 4:30pm

Flashes of brilliance and a similar lack of reading the field like first year Josh but thats about it. Josh's skills in all ways have exploded since year 1. -

Watching the Raiders is actually physically paining me. Terrible playcalling and a young and dumb QB who looks capable but just not right now. -

There was a clear Facemask on the Raiders pass rusher on that Chiefs TD that allowed Mahomes to escape on that TD. -
Based on the wording of the thread title, should we only use Arthurian - Shakespearian English in our posts? "Methinks, the arena doth be fillith with vast codpieces and merriment"!!

Its about time some bad luck visited the Chiefs. I think today is it. -
It was the same in the Euro soccer game last summer when the Danish player Ericksen went down in cardiac arrest. You could tell right away that it was really bad because of the shell shocked looks on the players faces. Ericksen meanwhile not only survived but is still playing for Man United. I hope the hospital can stabilize him!

Week 17 Gameday Thread - Around the NFL
Livinginthepast replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
The last play of the KC game where Wilson took a brutal sack things to end all hope was a good summation of Wilson's awful season. That guy fell off a cliff in ability. Brady and Brees temporarily heightened expectations of what QBs in their mid 30s can do, but it looks like Wilson isnt in the ballpark any more. -
Heartbreaking loss for the Buckeyes. I'm not sure what else they could have done in that game to win it. The cancelling of the targeting call was huge. Maybe not helmet to helmet but looked like hit to the head. Still for the neutral fan, both games were pure entertainment.

Congrats To The Fans Of The 4 Playoff Teams.....
Livinginthepast replied to Bill from NYC's topic in College Football
Probably the worst officiated big college game Ive ever seen. Michigan got jobbed on that last call and throughout the game. That was text book targeting by TCU and the officials were too scared to call it. One question on the TCU 3rd down play (on their last offensive series) where the receiver caught the slant but missed on getting the first down. If you watch the replay he falls towards the sideline and his hand touches 2 feet into the sideline before the he is down. Doesnt that mean the clock should stop?and he is out of bounds? and that would mean that Harbaugh doesnt have to take his last TO. Did the officals miss this or is the college rule different from the NFL where this would be out of bounds. -
Im dating myself here but when I hear "Jim Cook", I flashback to Jim Cook at WJET TV and radio in Erie, PA back in the mid 80s. Late Great Horror show on Saturday nights!

If Somehow Hyde Returns, We Win The Super Bowl

Maybe Hyde could wear one of those 80s style neck pads or q collars. Maybe he could wear a q ray bracelet!! -
What song gets you pumped up for Bills football?
Livinginthepast replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
When I went to a few Bills games in the early 2000's they used to play the heavily sanitized/clean version of this song during the games at the Ralph whenever the Bills had a decent play. Because the Bills were so horrible in that era, the song would usually be followed by the stadium announcer then announcing in very deadpan style , " Colts ( or whatever visiting team) 50 yard pass completed for a Touchdown" or some other big play. The song is as terrible as the Bills were! The song was supposed to pump the fans and team up but failed as badly as the Bills. In any case, it makes me appreciate how far we have come from the joke that we were just 6 years ago! -
When I was watching this at the time and saw Moulds fumble that long pass play, I thought it was a bad omen for later. But it was early and we had so much time. Flutie was actually really good in that game and out passed Marino. If not for the blind side sack at the end it would have been a big game in his career. As someone mentioned earlier the Andre Reed ejection was absolute killer. I had forgotten about that travesty (One of several by the refs that season vs the Bills). Watching it again 24 years later it still burns me. Reed scores the TD, then barely hits the official (who reacts like he was punched), then is ejected. Reed wasnt on the field for the final drive, so Flutie doesnt have one of his best options in the red zone. Bills get screwed and lose. A familiar story!

I thought the same thing as I watched this play. Now I get paranoid whenever I see Josh (or any Bill) hit the turf this way, ever since Tua's first concussion against us. But this kind of concussion just proves that Tua's internal brain "wiring" makes him more susceptible to these concussions. Other players dont get them this way but get them in the helmet to helmet collision style. Some not all. TBH I feel sorry for the guy, his long term health maybe in the balance right now.

Epenesa made a great play on that sack yesterday where he reached around the lineman to grab a hold of Fields. Superb play by him! He also has an old school football mean/dirty streak in him which in Von's absence we need!
