  1. Yes thats exactly what I am saying. Much of his personal suffering has happened since his prime "jerk" days and he has changed quite a bit. He is obviously a much better person after enduring that but I guess you give nobody a 2nd chance in life?
  2. Yes the Texans D is elite, Yes the most points they have allowed by an offense is 27 vs Seattle. All true but lets be honest we flat out blew it on offense because of Brady's play calling. Even with that great defense, and all the self inflicted errors, our offense had a chance to win it. A better OC and a better game plan in general by the whole staff gets us the win. We played literally into their hands and instead of Brady planning for the constant blitzing, he reacted like he was surprised and he was seeing this for the first time.
  3. It definitely messed things up for our offense. I am not sure how Josh processes how much time he has? By sight? or is he getting that through the headset? I think the lack of one official on the field or perhaps an official not being in his regular position was another bizarre wildcard for this game. I'm not thinking conspiracy but it definitely favored the Texans on the last drive. Also seeing the Hook and ladder play again, you can see Shakir takes a late hit well out of bounds that should have been another 15 yard penalty tacked on. Even Shakir reacts to the hit as if he is looking for a flag as he is well out of bounds when it happens. Does the lack of an official also affect that call?
  4. I think my default "silver lining" (often overtaken by my complete Bills cynicism) is that the Bills could win it all even with the team and the cards dealt to them if they just got hot at the right time. They are flawed in several ways but with Allen, the X factor, that can sometimes be overcome . They have been close to doing this (2021) but slipped up at the most crucial stage (13 seconds). I know I'm dating myself here but when I think back on all the years watching the NFL (since 1979) there has been at least one team a decade who was as inconsistent as the Bills are now that somehow has put it all together at the perfect time. They would just have to win 4 games as WC team to accomplish this. These teams did it: 1980–81: Oakland Raiders–Super Bowl XV. 1997–98: Denver Broncos–Super Bowl XXXII. 2000–01: Baltimore Ravens–Super Bowl XXXV. 2005–06: Pittsburgh Steelers–Super Bowl XL. 2007–08: New York Giants–Super Bowl XLII. 2010–11: Green Bay Packers–Super Bowl XLV. 4/6 had great QB's. We have a great QB. The Raiders did it with a rejuvenated Jim Plunkett (who people thought was washed up. The Ravens did it with Trent (pick 6) Dilfer. The one thing that we lack compared to those teams (at the moment) is a solid defense. But get some of these guys back for January, make the WC round and anything can happen!
  5. A lot of people didnt like Jim back in his playing days. Actually a lot of people outside Buffalo hated the Bills and rooted for them to lose. I was a Kelly fan because he backed up the arrogance/bravado with his play and leadership. I still say that he throws a nicer touch pass than Josh does (esp deep). In short he was a special QB to watch. Never heard of the personal bad behaviour of Jim towards his wife or people in the Western NY area back then but remember that was pre internet and anecdotal stuff (combined with damning videos and audio) didnt really exist for another 10-15 years. I did hear from people who were connected to the team that the Bills loved to party back then. Something that I can personally attest, to seeing Bruce Smith at the Late Show in NFalls about 1AM on a Saturday night during the season. However in Bruce's defense, I think it was during the 1990 season and he was possibly injured. In the end judging Jim harshly seems a bit ridiculous considered the personal pain that he suffered with Hunter's condition and his own battles with cancer. That guy has been through a lot.
  6. The law of averages would say yes but everything last night seemed to be against us. Even after we got pounded by that defense we still had a shot. But we just couldnt get it done.
  7. Allen is winless in all OTs he has played in the NFL.
  8. I really wish it was a case of Rousseau tying people up so another rusher can get through or he's getting close to sacks, but he doesnt seem to be the same player that he was only 2 years ago. Ogunjobi also seems to be almost invisible. Hoecht had an immediate impact by comparison and things looked really positive there. But Rousseau just looks like he is working hard but spinning his wheels.
  9. This was the problem yet again. Our defense doesnt know how to force fumbles anymore. We never seem to want to smack out the ball but cannot wrap up either. Our soft zone rarely is close enough to get us INTs. Our easy to read defense doesnt disguise anything so we rarely get the misthrows by opposing QBs (like Allen's deflected INT last night). Hell our DBs never turn around in pass coverage to get INTs on underthrows either. All from a defensive coach??
  10. The firing of Daboll seemed like the planets were aligning but I'm not sure if he could stomach being under the McD umbrella. After all McD ruined Daboll's best chance of going to the SB with Allen and the Bills with 13 seconds. I doubt he would be jumping at the chance to come in mid season unless McD was fired with Brady and Babich and he was parachuted in. I think we are stuck with Brady and the results so far this season speak for themselves. Now that Brady has a body of work that can be studied, its obvious that DCs have studied his vanilla plans and dialed up an easy neutralization strategy. Its not until Brady's vanilla gets a little Neapolitan flavor at the end of games that things start to flow better. The Hook and ladder for ex.
  11. True but they had almost the whole game to make that up. Had Brady not gone for the 3 yards back to get 1 yard run play on the best defense in the league we might have got a TD or FG on that drive. We blew at least two drives when we should have scored and were starting to get rolling and Brady got stupid.
  12. The fact that they can execute a play so effectively makes you wonder even more why Brady is so vanilla on offense. Its just ridiculous. we dont need that level of gadget play every series but maybe a couple of times during a game? I'm so done with the WR screen for a loss or Josh being swallowed up with the pass rush. I'm done with Brady's weak 4th and short strategy. Get that the F out of here.
  13. Brady is not up to the job. He has been given the keys to the Lamborghini in Allen but doesnt know how to drive stick shift. McD put him that position knowing that he was relatively raw in the OC job. So thats on McD. Beane did his part by not getting him any weapons on offense and not resigning/trading the players that did work (Hollins and Diggs). Which was an incredibly stupid move. I would call them the 3 stooges but Babich makes 4.
  14. The team looked better with Keon out last week but with Hardman not available, you might have thought Keon makes it back last night just as a backup. Moore looks useless. Davis has been better than both. Palmer executed the hook and ladder with Shakir but doesnt really have much impact. If the goal was to teach Keon a lesson, I think he has learned it now.
  15. It stopped being fun the season after 13 seconds. It was a slow creep, but as the offense got worse, the defense started to lose the playmakers, then the injuries have sucked the life out of the team for 4 seasons. That slow march to all stress got worse with Hamlin almost dying on the field. Then you have the Officials always rearing their ugly heads. You are always expecting a flag on every play. This season feels like smoke and mirrors. Somehow with this boring offense and this epically bad defense we are 7-4. But the really bad losses in easily winnable games are accumulating. Tonight was fun for a few seconds during the hook and ladder play on 4th and 27 but it felt like a drop in an ocean of disgust I already felt.
  16. Typical Bills to tease us to win this awful game and then find a Billsy way to screw up. If Josh throws that pass to Davis 1 yard more in bounds we win. But thats always the way isnt it? If Dawkins the veteran actually paid attention to the snap count, we probably get a first down and call timeout but no of course he has to move. I'm sorry but even with the depleted talent, Joe Brady has no excuses for serving up that plate of feces. Maybe 4 or 5 good play calls all night. Daboll or a competent OC wins that game with this team. A competent OC counterattacks the blitzs but not our Joe. As for the defense? Got better in the 2nd half but they are the worse tacklers in the league, out of position and often too small to compete. White is a complete liability out there, never looks at the ball on pass defense and prays for a drop or out of bounds because he is always out of position. Every year with McD there are games which are completely blown that come back to haunt us. I think all 4 losses count in that category.
  17. I saw maybe 5 good plays from Brady all night. The Hook and ladder was straight out of Daboll's book. But that was it. Brady was garbage tonight.
  18. Perfectly executed play . This is what we are capable of with good playcalling
  19. Oh my god a hook and ladder !
  20. Can the Bills please strip the F'ing ball!!
  21. That sack was low and should have been a penalty. Of course leave it to the useless refs to miss it.
  22. I disagree, thats his decision based on his own control, arrogance or his own stupidity.
  23. Lets go back 3 yards to get 1 yard against the best defense in the league. Brilliant Brady! Absolutely brilliant!
  24. About the 5th or 6th time tonight they had them behind the LOS and miss the tackle.
