My bold idea was as soon as the Bills lost the coin toss in OT in the 13 seconds game vs KC that the Bills defense was so bad (which meant we would inevitably lose (and we did)) that McD should have done the balls out call of all time which was kicking an onside kick to start overtime. They never would have expected us to do it and if successful we win the game. I'm not sure if that would be even possible/legal with today's onside kick rules.

Very true, but heres one more scary observation, Our defense is arguably worse, older and more injury riddled than that playoff game at the moment. McD has occasionally shown that he has learned from experience against certain teams (KC at least in the regular season) but has he learned to neutralize Burrow and his strengths? The last game vs the Bengals in November 2023, we did slightly better but had the same problems as the playoff game.

Game week thread - Bengals at Bills (flexed to 1pm ET)

I'm terrified that Burrow will be carving our defense with quick passes just like he did in the previous 3 games vs us. Our soft zone will not get close to these receivers and we wont get to him in time with our pass rush. In addition to your point, when we lost to Burrow in the playoffs, the weather wasnt the best in Buffalo and the field was icy but it was Burrow and the Bengals that excelled and we looked completely unprepared for the conditions (in addition to the Bengals). -
8th In "D" - 2nd in "O"!?!?!

This is exactly it. The inconsistency is maddening. But what is that down to? Changes in personnel due to injuries or erratic coaching? -
Looking ahead to the Patriots rematch.

Its all about actually tackling Maye this time. Last time he managed to evade our bumbling tackling to throw several clutch completions which of course were augmented by even more terrible tackling. I also think the Bills were completely unprepared and poorly motivated for that game. They assumed that they would win just by showing up and never seemed to really believe that they would lose. As seen in the Steelers game, sometimes this team needs to get mad to gear down and focus. -
Thats definitely part of it but yesterday showed how crucial defensive turnovers are to our success. The Bosa hit on Rogers has to be one of the plays of the year by our defense. If we can get even one of those vs the Bengals we will be on our way.

I really hope our coaching staff can come up with a gameplan to disrupt Burrow and their offense. He has had 3 games against us and burned us completely in 2 of them and looked to be on the way to doing that in the Hamlin game before it was stopped.
