  1. I always thought this was true. But a lot of people on here seem to think otherwise and say things like "McD hired Beane". I'm not sure how that is even possible. I guess the weird situation of Whaley hiring McD and then getting fired and Beane then getting hired spawned this. But there definitely is a buddy vibe between McD and Beane that may have worked for the Bills but also compromises Beanes ability to make certain moves if McD doesnt like them.
  2. Ive always felt that this current team could and would win DESPITE the coaches not because of them. The problem in this last season was injuries and poor play from the players cost them. I still think with a healthy squad that this season ends differently, even with the horror of the Damar injury. I really hope Frazier isnt back and that Beane comes to his senses. I also hope that Beane has the balls to make the tough decisions that he needs to and acts like a GM not McD's weekend co coach for Pop Warner. Maybe a lot of wishful thinking but thats where my headspace is at.
  3. Did the Araiza case have any impact on the Bills after they cut him? He was a rookie too. Maybe if this guy was a starter it would be a story but look at the Philly Oline, Hurts had all day to throw. Made our line look like a High school team. Speaking of Araiza, had this mess never happened with him and he was the Bills punter, does it change anything on the season? Some people on here mention the rape story as one of the pile of issues that impacted the Bills psyche and eventually compounded with Damar at the end to burn this team out. I dont see it having any impact on the field as the replacement guy seemed fine and we hardly punted anyway! But I wonder if there was any locker room impact.
  4. They had their chance last year. It was the perfect timing and the whole team/coaches blew it in that game. Bills were Brady's btch for life unfortunately.
  5. Normally I would agree that even allowing some input from the fans in most sports management might be suicidal but I've seen some really good takes on here from some of the posters. The fans dont know these players personally and they dont know the injuries etc but when it comes to coaches and the product that is produced, I think they are can be quite accurate in their critiques. Beane needs to seriously evaluate these coaches without resorting to " I dont listen to fans" argument because I think the criticisms are on point.
  6. If tonights game wasnt a damning indictment on our coaches and the plate of kaka they served up last week, I dont what else is. It wasnt just the great defensive game plan that KC cooked up but it was also the adjustments that Cinci made on offense to get back in the game. Then it was back to KC to make further adjustments on D to shut down the Bengals again. A total chess match between two great coaching staffs. Meanwhile we get the "connect 4 quality" coaching staff effort from our coaches last Sunday with little planning or strategy and no deviation or adjustments from the plan.
  7. Hes as dirty and nasty as it gets.
  8. Mahomes: "God healed my body this week"? Did he find the Lord recently? Didnt look healed to me all game!
  9. I agree but the contact was obviously out of bounds. The refs cant help but make that call. So stupid!
  10. i thought so too but it looked like the Cinci player embellished it.
  11. Dumbest play of the Cinci season right there!
  12. Why didnt Reid go for the FG? Butker has good range.
  13. Its nice to watch a game without feeling like puking!
  14. Got to give it Cinci that took huge cojones and the execution was awesome in those last 3 plays.
  15. Bad penalty but I think the KC Olineman was reacting to the Bengals pass rusher constantly faking holding by putting up his arms.
  16. That TD the Bengals just got was superb. Perfect throw. They may have just swung the momentum !
  17. I have to admit I thought they were a fraud all season. They played the easiest cup cake schedule against a lot of garbage. However watching them last week, they looked really good against a decent Giants team. I think part of the problem for many fans like me, is the utter unfairness of it all that Philly could win it all after a such a short rebuild and we are stuck yet again with nothing. Perhaps the jealousy clouds my better judgement. I know one thing though that I havent changed my opinion on is that their coach seems like a huge Dbag. LOL but I'm sure Philly fans can overlook that or better yet probably admire it!!
  18. This is a good synopsis of the how the defense just killed us. Momentum, pts and time off the clock. Frazier's poor game plan and lack of adjustments were the biggest issue we had. Dorsey had an awful game too but it was our defense that let us down, in all the ways you've mentioned.
  19. I really hope this is the case. I'm a little worried that Beane will make 2 mistakes with this. 1. He will value loyalty more than logic with Frazier. 2. He will see all the pressure from Fans and the Media and assume they don't know what they are talking about and give Frazier a 2nd chance. Too many times with the NFL and the Bills especially, you see curious decisions made by GMs or coaches because they are either not too bright, cant think on their feet, are based on emotion (like loyalty or religious belief) or just to be contrary to fans/media (and show that you cant be pressured). I hope that Beane can detach himself from this tendency when he decides on Frazier. Many times this season, I think the fans on this site have been more correct in their coaching or player personnel decisions than Beane and the coaches. Which in such a big money league is bizarre. Frazier (and Dorsey to a lesser extent) failed hugely last Sunday. Dorsey I can maybe understand but Frazier should be put out to pasture for his incompetence.
  20. I had a couple of thoughts/questions on Hamlin. 1. Will he be allowed back to play? Its seems very risky for him to play football ever again after that freaky injury and near death experience and I wonder if the Bills or any team would want that risk. 2. Hamlin seemed like a decent talent but nothing special before his injury. Oddly Just before he got hurt, I was frustrated he got burned by the Bengals pass attack in that game. I went back and looked at his stats, they are very ordinary. So his impact on the team wasnt huge and I guess if he didnt play again, it wouldnt matter that much? Or is that too harsh a conclusion on such a small sample size.
