  1. 100% agree with this. I am an advocate of drafting a RB 3 out of every 4 years somewhere in rounds 2-4. One more this year, let Yeldon go and see who emerges. I would have been very happy with them picking Dobbins instead of Epenesa in 2nd this past year but Moss is okay.
  2. Allen 70% completion % in 2nd half.... So several in national media now say about Allen in regards to his completion % he has to prove that he can consistently do it. Now on the season he is at 68.6%. If you are at 69% over 13 games and 471 passes, how many more games and passes does he have to throw to reach "consistency"? 471 passes is a pretty good sample size.
  3. I think this is the proverbial 1 + 1 = 3, both are good at their jobs but because there is such good alignment working together has produced fabulous results. I give them both a lot of credit for evolving and understanding how the NFL game has changed. McDermott with the wide open passing game and seemingly using analytics to help guide his decisions (going on 4th down). Beane on how the NFL values certain positions (RB, OG), adeptly using draft capital to get what he needs and building a strong organization.
  4. WIth 4 games to go, Josh Allen is within reach of many. How many of these will he break? Bills current passing records: Yards: Drew Bledsoe, 2002 - 4,359 Allen currently at 3,403 Passing TDs: Jim Kelly, 1991 - 33, Allen @ 26 Completion %: If use a minimum of 250 attempts, leader for full season is Trent Edwards in '08, 65.5%, Kelly Holcomb had 67.4% on 230 attempts in '05, Allen at 69.9% Yards per attempt (min. 250 attempts): Jack Kemp in '64, 8.5 yards/att. (269 attempts in 14 games), Allen currently at 8.0 QB Rating (min. 250 attempts): Jim Kelly, 1990, 101.2, Allen currently at 105.9 Rushing TDs by a QB: Josh Allen, 2019 - 9, Allen currently has 6 I say he gets 4 out of 6: yards, passing TDs, completion % and QB rating.
  5. I think it's a good idea first guy that came to mind was Kaare Vedvik since he can punt and place kick but alas Washington FT has him on practice squad.
  6. They have needs, the only glaring need is LB if Milano leaves, the others are needs. The way they have put the roster together is they are positioned to take best player available. The caveat I would put on that in rounds 1-3 there are definitely value plays based on their cap hits under a rookie contract: Round 1: The value plays by position are QB, WR, OT, CB, DL (mostly pass rusher though DTs go high too). Bills don't need QB, WR, if they re-sign D. Williams they are good at OT, so it would be CB or DL Round 2: RBs can be of value, but this is where TE, OG and LB are fertile value ground Round 3: Any of the above that haven't been address, take best player available After round 3 it's best player at any position, stick to your board and pick the best one, probably best athlete with upside. Even though they will be picking low they should be able to get 3 good players.
  7. A few of Feliciano's shotgun snaps to Allen were at a high level - almost over his head. If they want to get the best 5 OL out there Morse is definitely one of them, as are Dawkins, Williams and Feliciano. I think the only spot open for debate is the other G position.
  8. Johnny Green Jones, Cardale By the way, guess who is the Bills' all time leader in pass attempts, completions and yards by a non-QB? OJ Simpson 6-16, 110 yds 1 TD no Ints He has more career yards passing than Gale Gilbert (106) and Jones, Cardale (96).
  9. Hard to argue with Bennett in terms of trade and Paup for free agent. Acquiring Tasker on waivers is also way up there. Diggs is a great trade that will probably be good for both teams, that one was very fair. Jerry Hughes trade was a good one, a trade from long ago that I really liked was for Frank Lewis. I think the Bills traded damaged goods Paul Seymour for him. Two other free agent signings - Lofton who was already mentioned, and Ted Washington.
  10. To me, best single play needs to be a great, meaningful play in a game that impacted positively for the Bills in a meaningful game. So there are some great plays like the Roland Hooks play, the Don Beebe chase down of Lett a whole bunch of OJ runs in losing seasons and maybe even the Terrell Owens 98 yard TD that you think about, I don't think they are the best single play in Bills history. I think all the ones that fit this criteria have been mentioned: 1. Mike Stratton hit - signature play in a championship game 2. Jim Kelly TD vs. Miami - A statement game for Kelly and that team 3. Ahmad Rashad TD on MNF - One of the best finishes of a MNF game and the start of the only playoff year for the Bills in the 70s 4. The OJ 88 yard run vs. Steelers - Went up against the best team in the era and staking a claim that they could hang with them (which didn't last) 5. The Bennett 77 second sequence - turned around that season and established Bennett as a top notch player The comeback game and 51-3 are tough to pick one iconic play. The comeback game had the onside kick, the Beebe TD where he was out of bounds, the 4th down TD to Reed, Odomes INT and the game winning FG. The play in the 51-3 AFC championship win that I think people talk most about isn't even a play - it's the basketball time out the Raiders took because they were gassed on defense. The one OJ run that I loved was vs. Philly where he reverses field and runs for a 75 or 80 yard TD.
  11. Maybe with the Bills Lee will become the best version of himself.
  12. Very interesting voting so far thank you for taking the time to cast your ballot. Hope to get many more.
  13. Pick your franchise QB
  14. 1988 they were 11-2 and in good shape to be #1 seed and lost to a bad Tampa Bay team 10-5. One of the worst regular season losses.
  15. 27 Jim Kelly+ 35,467 1986-1996 buf 28 Jay Cutler 35,133 2006-2017 3TM 29 Jim Everett 34,837 1986-1997 3TM 30 Jim Hart 34,665 1966-1984 2TM 31 Ryan Fitzpatrick 34,421 2005-2020 Right when Fitz was on the verge of breaking into the top 30 career passing leaders and had Jim Kelly in range. While you can make a case that Miami is "in the hunt" for the playoffs, reality is that KC, Balt., Pitt., Tenn., Buffalo probably are going to be 5 of 7, leaving Patriots, Raiders, Cleveland, Indy as most likely filling out remaining 2 slots. I'd take all of them over Miami so while at 3-3 they are in the playoff race, you know the bad Fitz is right around the corner.
  16. Murphy and Phillips benched? They were not on the injury report. Interesting that they activated Zimmer and B. Cox Jr. If you want to have Yeldon active then you have to bench either Taiwan Jones or Moss and you're potentially taking snaps from Singletary or Moss, so I don't see that as something anyone would want to do.
  17. Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme is still in jail for the attempted assassination of Gerald Ford, so she's not available and at age 71, probably past her prime. Jake Fromm is still on the roster however and I agree with others who posted that since he's never taken a snap in an NFL game that is not a good plan.
  18. My caption options: 1. When they go low we go high 2. Norman stiff armed into early retirement 3. I should have taken Vontae Davis' advice
  19. At this stage of their careers: QB: Kelly is better than Allen RB: Thomas is way better, #1 or #2 reason SB team is > present day OL: Brought up a little but the Super Bowl teams' OL was terrific, better than present day WR: Pretty even, Reed-Diggs is close, I'd take Lofton over Brown and Beasley over Beebe TE: Not close Super Bowl teams better DL: Bruce is the other #1 or #2 reason SB team is > present day LB: I'll take Talley/Bennett/Conlan over Milano and Edmunds DB: Today's DBs are better because of Tre and safeties Special Teams: Super Bowl teams better in kicking game and had guys like Tasker and Pike anchoring coverage, Roberts a better return guy though
  20. If Milano is hurt then put Dodson in and move Edmunds outside. Dodson is the 3rd best LB on the team at this point. In the pass happy NFL with backs catching passes and very athletic TEs, Klein can't keep up.
  21. Is that Dan LeBatard in the video clip or Franco Harris?
  22. As a late third round pick, if he can be a consistent rotational player getting around 35-40% of the snaps per game then that is a pretty good draft result.
  23. Can't bring Fitz here, the Fitz curse means Allen is getting injured. Amazing that with about 4-5 more starts he will rank #30 all time in passing yards, and needs 1,900 to pass Jim Kelly. He needs to go somewhere he plays and ends up in the top 25 (3,711 yards away). 24 Boomer Esiason 37,920 1984-1997 3TM 25 Donovan McNabb 37,276 1999-2011 3TM 26 Matt Hasselbeck 36,638 1999-2015 4TM 27 Jim Kelly+ 35,467 1986-1996 buf 28 Jay Cutler 35,133 2006-2017 3TM 29 Jim Everett 34,837 1986-1997 3TM 30 Jim Hart 34,665 1966-1984 2TM 31 Steve DeBerg 34,241 1978-1998 6TM 32 Tony Romo 34,183 2004-2016 dal 33 Alex Smith 34,068 2005-2018 3TM 34 Ryan Fitzpatrick 33,565 2005-2020
  24. really good adds above One more, not sure on exact wording, either: It's tough to win in this league or Wins are tough to come by
