  1. Itll be tough waiting on free agency and seeing how they will spend the money. I don’t think they have earned us assuming the best but that doesn’t mean it’ll go bad either. You should actually create a poll for this if you want to poll people. in this league I think you can get a much higher quality DC than OC. To get an innovative offensive mind he needs to be head coach in many cases (especially if wanting to keep him around). You can snag an excellent defensive guy at the coordinator level as defense isn’t as valued. Seems natural to me that in this leagues current state you’d only hire a defensive head coach if he were head and shoulders above the rest AND came with an excellent built in offensive partner
  2. Well, she’s both played on an amateur level and coached college. You just happened to remember that picture and it’s location? Im not being snarky, I just find that shockingly strange.
  3. Honestly, it’s one of the few things lately that made me feel somewhat hopeful. ive been at odds with some of beanes process. I feel like his timing and sequencing of moves, prioritization etc.... has been suspect. It’s silly but all the way back to firing the full staff and then rehiring a bunch instead of holding on to some.... to see him acknowledge imperfection is a bit heartening that he may be learning. Im not sure I love that Anderson’s the guy but at least he gets that having access to only one qb that knows the system behind your starter is no good. Basic. But better than not getting it still.
  4. I think the distraction angle is overrated. I think two years since practicing is underdiscussed though
  5. If nothing else, can we start scouting it better? Those two dudes are taking up like 12m this year and 2 draft picks probably Whaley’s fault
  6. As Augie notes, talent matters. but you can coach skills like crisp route running, throwing with anticipation, making good reads, and even have a coach with great play design and sequencing. But if its me throwing to augie... well... I guess honestly..... it’s probably not THAT much worse than peterman to benjamin.
  7. So when we fired the roughly .500 coach for underachieving with the roster, it was a situation where we didn’t think a new coach could step up and improve the record with better gameday management, slight fine tuning and chasing a qb? or did we think the roster was an absolute train wreck and decide to let the guy that assembled it take another round of free agency and the draft just for the heck of it? i was very much under the impression in January 2017 that this was a re-load and watch improved coaching make the major difference, while putting a top shelf qb option in the system.... and not a burn it all to the ground situation.
  8. Well, the CBA and such grant players much more in the workplace than you and I normally get....
  9. If nothing else- it’s interesting.
  10. There are, in overly broad terms, 3 types of receivers. ones that elevate their unit, ones that are effective in a good unit, and ones that don’t really belong. He’s a perfectly fine 2, 3, 4 type player but not a game changer. He belongs though.
  11. Can you update the first post with cliff notes on the major trades? And yet we ditched a ton of young talent and are older through the process
  12. Right? Especially since we traded our 3 so it’s not like he’s just on the market like most teams that cut 3 and roll with just two QBs then roll in a 3 way qb competition not allowing much in the way of having a 4th guy get any reps/attention its basic planning to have soooomeone that knows the play book in case of injury if only keeping 2 active.
  13. But they arent that painful in today’s nfl. That’s the thing. Minus the qb position it’s actually pretty painless to assemble passable talent and then add a couple extra pieces. Very rarely do teams demolish the roster, yet alone in year 2.
  14. We have to make a decision on allen soon. Can’t carry 4 QBs with 2 injured and 1 with less than a week in the playbook. we should’ve signed a warm body to the practice squad 2 weeks ago and then as soon as allen is back or on IR sign a better vet option and cut peterman shortly after
  15. Not a single person on this board would’ve been ok with the hire if they were told THIS was the plan two years ago
  16. I cared once upon a time... but my indifference to the offense is matched only by mcbeanes
  17. You must not be a fan of our coach and/or gm then, eh?
  18. Lets be real. Even if Rosen succeeds and allen flops you’ll berate people about how rosen wouldn’t succeed here. And simultaneously do the same to anyone that questions coach or GM.
  19. It’s a big month all around. Really will know a lot about this team by thanksgiving. They may be a tough out in the playoffs
  20. Im sure he has some power to steer this though “I won’t report to buffalo” surely would make them think twice about being the highest bidder, for instance
  21. Not a first. But would consider him
  22. The challenge is that if there are good 1-2 year plans rarely is the slow plan a good choice, right? Why would you ever hire the 5 year guy if there are 2 year turnarounds?
  23. Bingo. This is likely more of a “many bills fans live in a buffalo sports bubble” than ”everyone’s actually out to get us” thing
  24. I always kind of assumed McD wanted a more polished guy. then we took the least polished guy of either draft (you know, of the viable ones... I’m talking top picks)
