  1. To be fair, we should’ve signed someone a month ago. Or kept McCarron.
  2. They all have the ability to make a couple completions. Guessing what a guy will do on his first 5 throws coming in for an injury is definitely pretty unpredictable. Because it reflects very minimally on who he truly is as a qb
  3. Sitting doesn’t fix a lot of it.... we will see if he can learn with reps but I worry we don’t have the coaches/mentors for this type of project (which is a serious challenge)
  4. He regularly showed up way out of shape. He’s always had big character concerns. You don’t think a wr showing up at 270 lbs is every bit the type of lack of care issue we’ve seen this year?
  5. They could’ve worked out a ton together this week and needed a minute here for any variety of reasons. Now, I too suspect he’s being moody and a bad teammate but to say there is no other explanation is a bit much.
  6. What would you bet on though. Confident in 2019?
  7. How long do you think he maintains elite skills?
  8. But that’s true of everyone and it’s actually happening to him less often than most with a huuuuge sample size. Sometimes you have to just embrace that the quirk isn’t a weakness in all cases
  9. I don’t think it needs to be either/or but should be geared at shedding older or expiring guys and acquisitions that can be here longer term. Ginn, for instance, I think is silly as a target regardless of record as we aren’t real contenders. But a young guy can be a target regardless of record too (say Cooper)
  10. Different first name too
  11. Oh lord baby jesus John, so help us all if we have to see posts this time next year from you that the group isn’t theirs yet because they are too young and couldn’t add a free agent. ??
  12. What are your expectations for how it should be addressed next offseason? Im under the strong assumption that benjamin walks and I think it’s more likely than not that clay is gone. As a group of pass catchers do you think that we need to then add 3 starting quality players either in free agency or the top 45-ish picks in the draft? If they add only 1 top prospect or premier free agent is it not their group still because they chose to focus elsewhere?
  13. So you would argue not that they missed on their moves but that they have prioritized the position low enough thus far to have not made actual moves? but either way, wouldn’t either reflect on their own approach to the position?
  14. They had two offseasons, traded up in the draft for one starter (who the staff had experience with) and traded for another starter. The depth includes a guy out OC coached in college... outside Holmes it’s their dudes. Zay was a 2 and 3, benjamin a 3. Coleman and kerley are their decisions. no roster is ever a finished product even for a long term staff but at some point you have made the decisions to either get guys or let guys go that mean you have to own the results. How far do they have to go for you to put the group on them?
  15. We had a multi page debate culminating with you answering the question “do you think he ever catches another pass” with nope
  16. Wasnt it you that was adamant that Gordon was 100% done?
  17. The scary part is that at this point it’s their group. They gutted the previous regime and then traded up for zay (a guy this staff had experience with) traded for benjamin (another of personal interest) etc...
  18. It might be the other 4 games at 9 ppg that have skewed their perception of the offensive powerhouse you see
  19. This here is the weird dynamic of it all. Theres a cutoff somewhere around a late 80s birth year where it transitions from knowing one of the greatest runs in football history to only knowing one of the worst. its not old guys reminiscing for the very good while the pretty good is right in front of them. It’s all time great vs all time bad and a near instant change that ended up long sustained Afc championship maybe? As mentioned - seems weird otherwise
  20. Oh all they have to do is go a whole game to be within a half a game? They practically have it
  21. Well that, I guess... but... we could’ve let mahomes sit last year
  22. Of all the moves they made with shedding young guys, trading an expensive high mileage back on the wrong side of 30 is pretty reasonable
  23. Hes a 30 year old back. At this point anything you get back is a gift from the football gods. If it’s a day 2 pick it’s on par with finding a $100 bill on the ground. A backup wouldn’t be crazy on a win now team that needs a starter somewhere
