  1. My point was he has flaws. He may overcome them. They may end his career. But to pretend that everyone that’s skeptical is ONLY looking at the San Diego game is disingenuous.
  2. What are you counting as downfield?
  3. Soooooo why do you think he was a day 3 pick before that game?
  4. Needs work but also doesn’t need to be running through brick walls in August. It’s a loooooong season. His camp will be about getting good reps balanced with keeping him fresh for the much longer nfl season.
  5. Yup. Seems if we cut streater we can pick him up at any time too, which is a consideration. I think he watches from home til injury.
  6. Ouch. A few of these takes are aging very poorly. always has to be a huuuuge red flag when a talent that big produces that little in a college career
  7. You certainly can argue with the result. It’s preseason week 1 — the results one of the only things you can’t judge on. Footwork, arm strength, reads, pocket presence are what you look at here. Not stats.
  8. Cam never go back from that though. He’s the guy that is last to get those reps as he doesn’t hand the ball back til he’s cut/retired. Could see this as the audition for peterman to make the 53 vs ps vs trade. Theres just too much in allen and ajm for peterman to start unless he really wins this
  9. Yea! We don’t like talking bout that whole nfl thing. Let’s focus on folding tables and those urinals that have faucets to wash your hands too!
  10. Right? There are very few guys even in our worst drafts where I’d jump on that.... yet alone 1st rounders. Maybin? And even then it’s not like I’m celebrating.
  11. It’s not all but there’s certainly some. as it turns out, you can see people’s posts on both topics and notice some overlap. It’s not like opinions are top secret here
  12. Which is kind of backwards no? Reward the bad employee and punish the owners and other employees by not coming back? im to a degree the same way but try to pay attention to if it’s a bad employee or systematic issues. I also try to grant some grace for bad days... but realistically my gut is to do like you do unless I really think about it
  13. While you may handle the conversation responsibly... there are those that certainly do not. while race may not be a factor for you - I have a hard time believing it’s not a major factor for some and an incremental issue (probably even total subconsciously) for many. Cams brash and deserves some comments for sure. I’m not saying he’s perfect. I do think the rubric for scoring black QBs is generally a little harsher than their counterparts though.
  14. As ones had drug, domestic abuse issues, etc... while the other is mostly just brash in his TD celebrations on his way to the super bowl in an mvp caliber season.... That we are comparing the two as apples to apples miiiiight give some credence to us being harder on the black guy. Not everyone but almost certainly some. As Johnny’s been out of the league for years now... maybe not the best metric?
  15. Really to become the pinnacle of nfl moral superiority somehow. He’s the god fearing uber motivating and ultimate teammate with the murder as not even an asterisk but is a footnote to a footnote to a special edition limited print of the book on his career. It’s anazing how his reputation has so little hint of it for many fans. Define skeletons? Cause I definitely have some things I’m not super proud of but none of the murder variety.
  16. Yup- all upside really. I’d trade conditional day 3 picks for first round guys in bad situations all day. Typically even the big first round busts are above average for day 3 picks and without the bonus or picking up the option the contracts aren’t bad if they flop either.
  17. Benjamin zay coleman kerley could be a functional top 4 and we have some decent 5-7 type guys for depth/upside. He’s a risk but he at least gives a better shot at fielding a competent group
  18. Fitz worked pretty hard on it. And short of Orton I’d say most of those guys cared
  19. Theres also some dynamic that his current gm was involved in that Carolina front office. Which adds an interesting wrinkle. And that the guy that gm drafted is another guy that has a boatload of physical gifts but questionable accuracy. And once helped draft and now traded for KB. KB saying that he’d have been better off without Carolina and cam has to play an even stranger note to beanes ear than ours
  20. If any other team traded up to take a guy in the top 10 and that guy wasn’t beating out peterman and McCarron we would be roasting them a bit. It’s natural. You take the high risk guy and until he shows reward you will get some skepticism. The optics right now warrant a raised eyebrow from outsiders.
  21. Itll be interesting. A lot of these young WRs are bouncing around A LOT. Cooks and Sammy are on their third teams, KB didn’t last his rookie deal in Carolina. Teams are taking them high, teams paying them but aren’t committing to them.
  22. Management, friends, family... and if he’s going to hop on twitter with it, sure fans too I guess. im not saying people should camp out in the parking lot to scream it at him but in reasonable conversation amongst reasonable human beings - sure, whatever.
  23. Hopefully plenty of people will, and he is the type to take smart feedback instead of fighting them.
  24. Is this the process? This doesn’t feel like the process. hopefully he’s a good fit here and doesn’t end up “salty” or upset working with a young qb trying to get more accurate. Also, hopefully he takes his craft seriously year round.
