  1. Considering how far out of bounds he was in the last case- I am a little surprised that so many people are down to assume the the dude is acting reasonably and with restraint when hitting his kid that he previously abused i would get a “let’s wait and see” from some but not full throated support
  2. Yea, but the flip side is those that watch keenum play don’t think he can get the lead consistently enough to be able to lose the game. And while he’s incredibly highly paid, in the universe of new qb contracts is it crazy that he’s similar to Carr, Stafford and garrapolo (after like a month starting)? 30m will be the new normal as elite guys get new deals
  3. Cap hit of 9m and dead money of just 4.5 so there’s a solid cap savings to cutting him.
  4. I get what your saying but they were 13-3 and in the NFCCG. They already were a contender. That’s why I was proposing the alternate framing that the goal was maintaining that status and avoiding keenum coming back to earth. That keeping that level of play or a small step up was the justification of the move. Hes between Matt Ryan and garrapolo (with Stafford and Carr right behind JG) for perspective. He’s obviousky highly paid but kind of in line with the new line of deals
  5. Did they pay him for drastically better play than keenums ceiling? Or because Keenum was a risk to drop off and cousins was reliably the guy that would play at or a little above keenums ceiling?
  6. If the bills won last nights game the same way this board would be much more entertaining. We are the dude sitting next to our horse complaining about how cars take the fun out of transportation
  7. I can’t imagine why anyone would be mad at this guy. I’m not a big fan of his but I’m not sure we could ask for any more out of the dude
  8. Ultimately, what he said is generally more true than not (Allens not good yet) and getting attention makes him money.... so it’s hard to be pissed, but it was definitely in poor taste.
  9. I’ve been talking about the confidence and swagger across the team. Also That young Sean Payton is back and bountygate/pill gate/divorce sean Paytons gone the quote of the article: Thursday night,” Payton said. “Just doodling. Just thinking. I just thought of it, and I said to the coaches, ‘Will this work?’ And [quarterbacks coach] Joe Lombardi said, ‘Why not? We can do anything we want.’
  10. Do we think it’s bottom yet? I think he could be worse down the stretch.
  11. Well I’d say that many of his throws are still technically questionable but ending up on the money. I had recently read some commentary that scouting reports mainly assumed mechanics would catch up to him at this level... and were wrong so far. I didn’t watch a ton in college
  12. being a saints season ticket holder through his prime has been a treat as a fan of the game
  13. To be fair, Carr had a pretty tight window of good play. For his first year and a half, or so his stats were actually relatively close to EJ starting his career (haven’t discussed this in awhile so I don’t remember the exact comp period)
  14. Is that the word you were really looking for there?
  15. In Drew Brees for mvp considerations... I don’t think folks realize how rough his WR Corp actually is behind Michael Thomas. trequan is a rookie picked deep in round 3 Keith Kirkwood (Udfa fresh off the practice squad) austin carr thats it. Their third string qb/special teams gunner might be their WR3 at the moment. I guess.
  16. They also only had 4 healthy receivers (plus taysom)
  17. Heck, I’ll add that since firing joe vitt that Sean Payton has been a beast and the teams 20-6
  18. Depth at wr is a need. They have a lot of talent but need more pass catchers
  19. Kamara and Ingram a relatively healthy line with depth michael thomas 50m in dead money coming off the cap drew being healthier than many years and hill
  20. He’s a great Brad Smith, Tim Tebow, etc... just used properly in a great offense hes not going to change the league but he will be fun for a few years
  21. With home field it would be hard to knock the saints out as long as brees/Thomas and at least one of the backs all stay healthy. Beyond what you see on the field - they are bringing so much energy and enthusiasm off field too. They are genuinely having a ball beating the hell out of teams in a way that harkens back to that 2009 squad
  22. Saints at 16 straight drives ending in points
  23. Saints just scored on their 15th consecutive drive
  24. No, these guys KNOW clearly barkley throws it with the perfect RPMs for each individual. I heard he even arched it into foster at the exact angle to use the ball to fully block the sun from his eyes. In the huddle before the play he even told foster he believed in him and you can trust a guy like barkley when he says that. that barkley completed just 60% of his passes for like 235 yards does not diminish his greatness.
  25. Same could be asked of another team we know well
