  1. The saints defense is giving up fewer points per game the saints offense, on average, has outscored the bills points scored per game by about 5 mins into the second quarter
  2. He was a Pittsburgh guy - and you look at how they built that team... big qb, FAST wr in the middle rounds and a physical run game. Excellent linebackers and a solid line.. Despite missing on EJ and the parade of coaches he seemed not to get to choose.... he went a long way towards assembling that type of roster.
  3. Pay the qb and hope to replace one if not both of the others
  4. Most Americans don’t own equipment and have regular access to frozen ponds, would be my guess. If all you needed was a ball and maybe a goal for 10-20 to participate you might see it shoot up in popularity.
  5. Theyve done it every big play all season. Won’t lie, I’ve enjoyed it greatly Heres the tweet from shefter today: Falcons at Saints tonight. Saints averaging 37.8 PPG, the 5th-most through 10 games in NFL history. They’re scoring on 63% of their drives, the highest since NFL went to 16-game schedule in 1978. They’ve scored more points in last 3 games (144) than Bills have this season (137).
  6. The stat coming into today was like 2 out of 3 drives end in points, the highest rate since the league went to 16 game seasons
  7. Dollar for dollar, kamara has to be among the best values in the league.
  8. Oh, of the reasons he wouldn’t be here, it wouldn’t be the most likely but in discussing how this team comes together ideally it’s a systematic built in risk that’s created with a defensive head coach
  9. Thats of course the worry. If allen looks competent next year, Daboll gets offers and you are putting the kid in a new system halfway through the big window of a rookie qb contract you are starting fresh again, as opposed to the continuity of an offensive head coach seeing success with a young qb
  10. Ultimately, in year one they prioritized bringing in benjamin and mike Tolbert, AND a full back - i don’t get why it’s controversial to say they created a speed deficit in a league that’s getting faster every day. As others pointed out - Carolina likewise had a slower offense at a lot of key positions too. they messed up. It was foreseeable the day the draft ended that our offense was going to be among the worst in quite some time. They had had a lot of holes to fill because they created them. they were cash strapped because they created dead money. hopefully, if they are here next offseason, they learned some stuff and spend on guys that you have to gameplan for I’d think the defense there is if all your guys are 4.4 guys that are talented and you have other good talent around them you are going to create stress on the defense. Benjamin doesn’t create stress. Pretty much no wr on our opening day depth chart did. Then we had no qb that could reliably distribute the ball but also gave very little to protecting those bad QBs. Even on Benjamin’s best days our plan was to have peterman throwing knuckleballs to a 4.6+ wr if he could even get to the 5th step of his drop. This offense shouldn’t surprise people and the team did very little to avoid it.
  11. I’d hope they didn’t plan our offseason around propping up peterman but... maybe just me
  12. Yup. Many mid round guys or mid tier free agents. They have taken a few shots poorly but certainly wasn’t a priority or they would’ve (hopefully) gotten it done. If they’ve truly wanted it and the best they could do was the week 1 roster- yikes. Several of us hypothesized that it would be the worst in the league by a wide margin. This shouldn’t have been a shocker. Some argued it would be above average though.
  13. It’s also deciding to trade Sammy, let Goodwin walk, let woods walk, trade up in the first twice, chase zay, trade for Coleman but not Gordon, and chase multiple free agents but not win them
  14. Plus benjamin is one of the bigger hits on the team and cost a pick. They swung and missed and need to own it
  15. Falcons at Saints tonight. Saints averaging 37.8 PPG, the 5th-most through 10 games in NFL history. They’re scoring on 63% of their drives, the highest since NFL went to 16-game schedule in 1978. They’ve scored more points in last 3 games (144) than Bills have this season (137).
  16. Hopefully! The “can’t fill every hole in one offseason” excuse from happy was pretty weak. Even if you limit it solely to beane — he traded away Sammy and acquired benjamin and Matthews. Had kerley for 6 months and cut him the day after guaranteeing his salary. Never gave Coleman much of a shot. That we are relying on a udfa rookie right now and have benjamin as a starter does certainly reflect on him. He has had time and opportunities to shape the group and he’s made his choices.
  17. True story- was totally out to get him with my “im down to assume you meant well, but should be aware many don’t mean well and it might get you jumped on by folks.... like we saw here” response lots of people that feel persecuted in here today.
  18. I mean, Peterson did beat the kid pretty badly last go around. There are pictures and reports. I agree we dont know what he did this time exactly but think there’s an element of maybe not letting your friend with 3 DUIs drive even if you only saw him have 2 beers, your friend that’s been through rehab get away with just a bump, or your guy that’s got child abuse charges pull out the belt and go to his “whooping room” with the kid. generally the behaviors might not be out of this world terrible for average Joe but Peterson’s proven not to be the guy that knows how to get the questionable behavior right
  19. Im fine giving benefit of the doubt but maybe a learning experience? The history of our country protecting white women from young black men isn’t particularly good. Throwing in blonde instead of woman creates connotations that a huge number will read whether you meant them or not
  20. They have a defense built to play with a lead. they are rushing the passer and snagging a few turnovers from that, not stuffing the run with great linebacker play. its why I kind of liked Schwartz’s defense for us for a while. Spend on guys impacting the qb, have a cheap lb that can clean up the run when needed and ballhawk a bit on the back end fits today’s modern nfl.
  21. I’d avoid the quotes and photos on page 2 in that case. I suspect that your argument would land better outside the context of peterson history - as I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have different takes.... but this thread colors it a bit differently if folks don’t know you well
  22. There’s definitely some gray area out there and I agree about not racing to judge but I think some judgment of the last incident is fair
  23. from the last incident - they’ve obviously spared us the ***** wound but I’m thinking maybe some context on an nfl back “whooping” a 4 year old
  24. Such as: The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and *****, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. Peterson then texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.” Peterson also allegedly said via text message to the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I (sic) thigh” and also acknowledged the injury to the child’s ***** in a text message, saying, “Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!” given this account - feeling super confident about the dude picking up a belt?
  25. Considering how far out of bounds he was in the last case- I am a little surprised that so many people are down to assume the the dude is acting reasonably and with restraint when hitting his kid that he previously abused i would get a “let’s wait and see” from some but not full throated support
