  1. Monday you might look back and romanticize what it was like to have that 5k. 17 is a huge spread, and dumb luck. Even if they get up 30, we won’t take our foot off the gas with a rookie qb but they might coast into the finish
  2. He’s the next Fitz. Will bounce around as a starter you always try to replace but among the top 32 QBs
  3. Its boom or bust at this point. It’s akin to josh McDaniel. If the QBs good and they hit in free agency/draft next year - awesome. Otherwise you just gutted a team in way that’s actually pretty rare.
  4. Both he and his brother have made absolute fortunes. Maybe he ends up broke, maybe he ends up fine and able to walk when he’s 50. i don’t like how he handled this but in the grand scheme, such is life
  5. Yes, they were outlining previous offseason transgressions/punishment
  6. The hotel creates a setting where you can control Saturday night dinner and meetings, a curfew, Sunday morning meetings and food. Coordinated transportation. It’s standard issue. I’d suggest asking to learn more before raging.
  7. I mean, it’s 6 weeks later and injury settlements are standard issue for guys that are hurt that you want to move. Are you trying to imply something?
  8. Im nervous about confusing half time for hot take
  9. In february- did he know that? If sold on us getting a vet and rookie qb, and spending on a couple free agents plus a boat load of picks... i don’t think a single poster or bills employee expect this offseason or start back in January. It’s strange to me that somehow much of the offseason I felt among the most negative for thinking we were a below 500 team and now so many people are pulling the “well yea obviously this was going to be a train wreck but that’s by design and there was no other choice” card
  10. Plenty of intelligent and well intentioned people have plans that they don’t do particularly well following. Especially when you get a lot of voices in the room.
  11. Science says they are roughly equal
  12. But it’s all good - it’s been months since we’ve seen a starter held on a psych evaluation (as Ritchie’s August incident was off the team) i think its ok to acknowledge that the last 6 months have been a particularly impressive train wreck
  13. I mean we only gave up like 80 points in the first 90 minutes of the season and only one starter retired mid game. We’ve also only benched 1 qb, and half of our coordinators still have playcalling duties. Clearly everything’s normal at the moment. conpared to the offseason, this is downright tame stuff.
  14. 4 year starter with 4 different DCs, 3 head coaches, 2 GMs, 2 owners.... immediately took over as play caller on the field... son of a coach and generally seems a good guy. and because he he thinks somethings not right in our locker room we hate him. Obviously.
  15. We’ve had a handful of comments alluding to behind the scenes not being as “bought in” as fans seem to want to think... i sometimes wonder how we’d view this regime if we had a playoff appearance in that malarkey season and say one of the marrone ones. If not for the extreme nature of the streak, would more fans be wondering about the red flags?
  16. To be fair their costs were also noticeably higher. We are taking 4-5x the cap hit for Coleman and Bryant went for a day 2 pick
  17. At week 2 in the regular season? There’s not much of a way to address not having a number 1 wr. That’s kind of why this was an appealing incredibly low risk and high reward move for another franchise that tends to do well.
  18. So why not let him go catch a few bombs from allen and maybe keep a safety out of the box to help with the o line a bit for 2 months?
  19. So far we have that he was late to a meeting. I’m not saying make him a cornerstone player weo. If he’s still violating substance rules, different story but again even then the cost is like 60 day three draft slots and half of what we paid kerley for week 1
  20. I remember 2 years ago being 7-8 and this board being Overwhelmingly in unison that the team was underachieving because of bad coaching and could probably use an upgrade at qb. suddenly the narrative is the whole roster was overpaid and terrible and McDermott had one of the tallest tasks imaginable
  21. Even if he flops, there’s literally no downside for them is the thing that bugs me most. What’s the gap in talent from pick 172 to 217 (or whatever they end up)? That and a league minimum contract are the cost. At that price and return, we’d have won the trade handily.
  22. 4 years ago he put up 1600+ yards in 14 games. heck, last year he put up 336 yards in 5 games at 18.6 yards per catch. Zay is currently our only wr pacing ahead of that for a 16 game season. Is benjamin our only WR that’s done anything in the last 5 years? You wouldn’t swap a 5 for a 7 to get this guy for $690k
  23. Everyone spends to the cap. It’s not just for making a push. There’s a requirement of spending a rolling average of 90-ish percent. We chose to cut bait with 90% of the young core including young guys on rookie deals and second contract guys with big dead money. Now we are old and broke. It was a choice. You might agree or disagree with the strategy but it was not forced on anyone but the fans.
  24. Heck I even expect some up and downs, not just weekly improvement but hopefully a general trend up
