  1. And frankly even if paying dareus like a pass rusher but he’s underperforming and he’s heavy and just a run stuffer... the dead money plus star is a fortune compared to just keeping an underachiever who is still ok, just not special
  2. I suspect anyone that believes they are getting it wrong cares.
  3. The problem is the injury free loves to play football and is more talented guy is the most expensive player. We all have a salary cap. So either you take risks on personality, on injury or roll with a less talented player. There’s a balance to be had and talent has to be weighted most heavily. Nailed it. The rest all matters but talent is by far the biggest.
  4. Unless his culture is “we put great players in a position to succeed” it’s a terrible quote. God awful.
  5. I’ll sign up for that likely lucrative pay check. You are passing?
  6. It’s an exhausting quality of the board lately. either “Whaley’s fault” or “but playoffs” from a relatively large cross section of posters on darn near anything that’s not glowingly positive
  7. So you are more into extending the life time contract with no pay cuts to Tyrod?
  8. It’s not that loyalty is a bad quality. It’s that I’m pretty sure you bashed one of the most kind hearted and compassionate guys on the board for being cold because he believes in compassion over blind loyalty. You consistently let your desire to argue impede reasonable discussion
  9. I imagine thats about as asinine a reply as you could have come up with
  10. Can you believe beane made him kill a guy?!?
  11. I think hoping the playoffs will be an option is a bit optimistic but of course it’s an oddly shaped ball and you never know how it’ll bounce
  12. After all the times you’ve went down with sinking ships you’d think you’d at least have the courtesy to be a tiny bit polite about disagreements.
  13. Of course, last year we were built to let a qb sit while this year we were not. Additionally with two offseasons and two drafts one might say we could’ve added more offensive talent than we have. But hey
  14. I was unabashedly a Rosen guy but will say allen has shown me some things I didn’t expect. Hopefully he stays resilient and plays through a tough situation to find success. It’ll be an uphill battle but eager to watch how he takes it on.
  15. They bounce back well, and we don’t have a ton of context... but it sure doesn’t feel good that more than once a month the wheels absolutely come off
  16. Hes an “if a super bowl contender loses a pair of starters at WR, he’ll fetch a day 3 pick and save us some money” type right now
  17. I wouldn’t expect him to be a breakout star here. Great spot to land with Julio as a mentor, and well established players all over the place including QB. im also not knocking Edmunds. But getting a top WR and saving pick 65 is definitely what I expected on draft day. We will see, but I definitely didn’t peg trading up again to get a defensive player.
  18. Joking aside- are there any good sites for up to date free agents? Most I’ve stumbled across stop updating in the spring/summer with an occasional article during camp but didn’t see a good one for right now
  19. I enjoy you calling out someone mere minutes after you did similar if not more egregious
  20. Tre did. Both feet weren’t down yet. it helps immensely when you include clips in threads like this.
  21. Honestly, not at the moment. It’s a long season and you never know how things shake out. But it’s an offensive league and it seems to me that if you want elite coaching on both sides an offensive head coach and strong DC is more realistic than the other way around. We’ve done very little to help him. Very little. Which is especially concerning when trading up for the guy that has the largest learning curve of the big 4. Invest extra in getting the biggest risk and then put him in a difficult position.... it’s pretty billsy, but you never know.
  22. I know that if I was going to spend a 2, 3, 7 in picks and commit $14m in cap space this year I’d say Benjamin, zay, Coleman and kerley were an exceptional use of those resources.
  23. Totally what I said. Clearly I am the over emotional one in this thread. that said, I’m not canning them just for the sake of making a move but I’d be open to some soft back channel conversations with an exceptional offensive minded head coach that likes allen, if one comes to be out there and available
  24. Its a cop out to pretend this regime has no hand in the cap situation. How much cap did we commit to benjamin, Coleman and kerley (ignoring picks) for instance or could the dareus/Starr situation be handled differently? How they managed glenn or Tyrod/McCarron is in part on them too. You can’t just throw your hands up and give them a 3-5 year free pass
  25. Id venture that somewhere through the offseason we could’ve spent it better. Or carried it over. to make that trade and accept that contract you have to give the dude a pretty long leash. You know he’s going to be a handful out of the gate.
