Incognito's Retirement? [update: Now Released]
NoSaint replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At $4m I’m not sure I’m paying him... but I also think that cuts johns “he’s just a bum” take out at the knees. The guy has potential. i agree fans got overly excited about his play but it wasn’t bad either. -

Completely different. You know why? we just let the player say “restructure me or release me” instead. -

Why was his old contract his value but not his new contract? -

Unfortunately it does indicate that the good guy won’t be treated as well as the troublemakers. Theres almost no chance we wanted boldin and wouldn’t extend him this courtesy. Its not the end of the world but its definitely not ideal -

I don’t know that the story is true... but would it be that weird? Maybe pegula called him at some point? -

I don’t mind being rid of the dude but hate the message it sends— throw a fit and get what you want, be a professional and we will play hard ball. Itll be interesting to see how the league reacts to him. Does he get a deal for more money? -
Anybody else mad about our draft hats?

You should make sure you show up to the future nickname threads. -
Itll boil down to whether he enjoys the game or just being a star. They will learn quickly if he actually appreciates having a chance to be on the field.

If only he would have sooner sought out your opinion...

Mayfield vs Allen (madden simulation)
NoSaint replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he was in time out for awhile, but glad to see he’s back and pleasant as ever -
Does he though? I don’t think I see many pitchforks for the guy, do you? To be fair, I’ve seen it get much more attention on other boards. And this is espn calling focus to it. People see it, people care. Will it get the same coverage? Likely not quite as much, but it’ll get a lot....and outside of enthusiastic football fans, I don’t think it registered with that many in the first place. Casual fans or non fans may have seen it but likely didn’t even know the guy even if they did see it. I think in large part the exhaustion over discussing anything even tangentially bama related with you over the last month or two has probably caused many posters here to see the update and keep moving. That and “well, that sucks” doesn’t generate the pages of posts as quick as wondering about and speculation on what happened and could happen next.

MMQB: The Jets' Long Road To Sam Darnold
NoSaint replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The flip side is that they could have gotten one without moving up at all. By not letting the process play out they may have gotten caught in the frenzy. Would rosen plus 3 premium picks be better? Maybe. -
Top 10 Boneheaded Moves of NFL offseason

Or the story of them getting to 3 at a huge premium only to see their two favorite QBs gone -
Yeeesh. Whatever happened that day... hopefully this guy learns some lessons about life here. If he did something bad- never do it again if he got caught up with a made up story — think Long and hard about where he puts himself. obviously I could make stronger statements on either end but not knowing what happened, I’ll leave it at that.

Am I the only one who has confidence in our WR's?
NoSaint replied to WideRightRevenge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If everyone both stays healthy and plays up to their potential they could be an average group. If each guy plays to about average, and we see some injuries (you know, a normal year) it’s a bad group -
Obviously there are differing approaches and no proven right/wrong method. Every player, coach, supporting cast, and situation is different. whats tough on pundits are a few issues: 1) we don’t know how much they invested in that opinion. Are they all doing the work and getting the same result, or did one guy say cordy Glenn is a guard and everyone just repeated it? 2) often nfl guys are old school and even if there’s a new and possibly better way they lean on the old method. In this case, learn from the bench. There are certainly some that do the work and have highly educated opinions that I might not agree with (likely some on both sides but we don’t know who’s who sometimes)

Emmett Cleary left NFL to go to medical school

One of those that feels crazy to read but good on the guy for chasing his dream. Hopefully it’s all he hopes, and he doesn’t regret passing up on this opportunity. -

I’d be curious to see if the opinions here match what the metrics tell them... are fans quick to hate jerry but likewise quick to click? -
I don’t think that it’s inherently great or terrible for the team. Ultimately you are sourcing talent, motivation, and synergy. If hes drawn inherently to guys that hold shared values that can be great for the right group... If he is irrationally loyal to guys he personally associates with his own morals instead of merit based evaluations it can be a disaster.

You can stay put if you want. I don’t particularly care. It’s your life, man. Just seemed you were more unhappy with the state than most so maybe changing your own situation would be more feasible than changing the state as a whole. I’m just here reading football news. You brought your opinions on politics and your life situation into the thread on gambling.

Im not into most of the sins (gambling, drugs, prostitution etc...) but it’s not my place to govern someone else’s morality. As long as you don’t actively hurt me or mine - go have fun. I’m not even huge on the “tax the hell out of it” angle. If the practice ofsaid sincreates costs to society, just try to balance those line items with a fair tax.
