  1. The biggest issue would be not winning the division. Until we are the best in the division it’s an uphill road Having to go on the road to win 4 games is VERY tough and don’t think we are there yet on offense. But if Allen got hot, no reason to think this team absolutely couldn’t be like the flacco led ravens.
  2. Its why I kept beating the drum to make a big splash at WR our DE. If you think Allen and McDermott are remotely “the guys” we are in a roughly 3 year window of huge advantage and would hate to see them leave anything untried or waste a year without pushing the chips in.
  3. There’s just far too many variables for any of us to give you meaningful feedback but the short of it is you are never terribly secure past your contract and there’s not a lot of incentive to extend that contract early unless they are getting something to give those guarantees. Plan for the worst. Do great work. Make it easy for the best to happen.
  4. His age might temper the compensation a bit
  5. Nothing life altering but words like orbital fracture seem to be floating around. Which hopefully inspires some life changes.
  6. That is not what I’ve heard but if true we have a new music city miracle
  7. Clearly, but I meant for his health. Like maybe just a concussion and extreme bruising if he hit the table just right in his swan dive?
  8. Ive not reached that level of stupid, even with alcohol. I mean, what was BEST case scenario here?
  9. I couldn’t care less about a guy like KB that decided not to be a football player any longer in evaluating a new guy. I think the bigger hang up is that the kid was a UDFA that washed out of the league, went to the CFL, had limited interest, cleared waivers to the practice squad etc... for a reason duke has a ton to prove and speed will be a major challenge as a week in and week out player. All you can do is root for him and hope he’s the exception.
  10. Think his beard grows that way naturally or he works hard to make it happen?!?
  11. Curious about the Jordan Phillips shoes photo going around....
  12. Nah - expect it to get worse when the expectations rise.
  13. Don’t get me wrong, any week off is great but if you want it to be a season that lasts til February - this is very early and you’ve got to be planning to win the division early and/or receive a bye in the playoffs to call a bye this early ideal. outside of your QB being out for a week and it happening to be this week- the bye is welcome, but early
  14. What year was the 265 tackle? 1989?
  15. I tend to like them later. If banking on the playoffs, it’s a long time to go without a break from this early. And getting healthy late in the year is nice.
  16. It it should underscore how common that is if it happening more than a third of snaps is still ranked that high
  17. Brady is a lot more likely than josh, or cam to get that flag. Josh is a lot more likely than gore to get that flag. It’s life. On the fines, I think it’s more even handed on a broad level.
  18. When you have a QBs on a rookie deal you play by different rules and if your expectation isn’t competing for the super bowl in the next 18 months, you’re expectations are too low
  19. But they aren’t going to trade him? Seems unlikely
  20. The flip side is if it’s poyer hitting a Zeke- you’d be surprised to see the flag or it might possibly go against zeke (though with the tackler wrapping up from behind unlikely - point being the runner can’t drop his head either) it it was an ugly play. Outside of our community it wasn’t judged as being significantly outside the norms of the game though. If scripted- they’d be better off not throwing the flag but later fining. With this scenario I’m not seeing the point of the “script” Flip side, ignoring the back and forth to get back to the core.... without that flag on the hit the drives over. It was far from a free pass, it was an extra play at midfield in a 1 score game in the 4th. I think most coaches would advise their teams to avoid that even in an offsetting scenario.
  21. That wasn’t one of the worst you’ve seen unless you don’t watch football
  22. Ultimately the trade compensation guarantees the rest of the deal for all practical intents and purposes
  23. Think of it this way: old teams cap has to account for money already paid, while new team takes future payments. so the cap hits you are looking at are meaningless. Look at salary and future bonus payments for our commitment and the Broncos would eat all the amortized bonuses they paid but we’re spreading across future year caps
  24. That is indeed my assertion
