Great reminder. Sign or trade for that one difference-maker who can not be found in our draft slot and for a position that the team can't coach up another player to be. For me, this is a sack artist, a true run stuffing DT, or a guard that keeps Allen upright. WR/TE/RB/CB/LB can be found in this draft. The OL or DL player we need is not in this draft.

Granted, Allen made him look beyond silly, but Allen has done that with a lot of people! With that said, if it is 1-2 years of Van Noy or our polarizing middle linebacker, I would take Van Noy because he also has an ability to get sacks and turnovers.

Between Aaron Rodgers Prima Donna show each year, Lamar Jackson claiming he is disrespected because of Race more than Because he and his team are going backwards as contenders, Mayfield's inconsistent performances and smugness, Kyler Murray thinking he is already hall of fame caliber, Allen has shown this far he is above the garbage and God's gift attitude that seems more openly pervasive in more and more quarterbacks. So glad I hear about Allen's work ethic, his small town roots, and his desire to let his passion and his performances do his talking.

In no particular order: 1. I thought Robert Woods would be not any better after leaving the Bills. 2. I thought Bills should get Noah Fant because he would be a generational-type of TE player 3. I thought the Bills should move on from McDermott even this year. Still, I do believe he is both very overrated and underrated as a coach by fans on TSW. 4. I thought the trade up for Zay Jones was a great move. 5. I believed Peterman would be a solid backup and that John Wendling would be a Steve Tasker-type player because of his freakish athleticism. No doubt many more, but these are among the most egregious.

My first game watching the Bills was in the fall of 1988 against Miami. I became a Bills fan initially for 3 reasons: Born in New York, liked the colors, and the no huddle concept. My childhood favorite players were Thurman Thomas and Steve "a tisker" a Tasker (Chris Berman phrase). 3 Favorite Memories 1. The Greatest Comeback 2. A no punt game in the early 90s against the 49ers 3. Leon Lett getting punked by Beebe My favorite player besides Allen is Levi Wallace. I think Wallace represents the underdog, the hardworking but not uniquely talented, the guy that is maddeningly inconsistent at times, but he gives his very best. I relate to and appreciate that kind of character. My screen name was chosen from the cheesy late 80s/early 90s movie, The Wizard. I watched this at the theatre and got my first Bills starter jacket that same weekend.

Keep Allen upright, get a difference-making DE, or pay a cloning fee for Aron Donald's DNA, resign Bates, Phillips, Wallace, get a contributing rookie class, and require McDermott to have an in-game coaching situations seminar this offseason, and then this is a real discussion in Feb. 2023.

I think making tweaks to the Wonderlic is a better option than getting rid of it. Maybe a Wonderlic has players go through some X's and O's in a variety of playcalling situations, schemes, etc. And, maybe there are cognitive processing skills and recognizing patterns that can be used that match some ideals for certain position groups. Trymaine Edmund's may be athletic, kind, hardworking, a good teammate,and a nice guy, but his lacks of situational awareness and instincts would and ought to be measured. Call the current Wonderlic culturally biased, rooted in racism, or outdated, okay. But an updated Wonderlic with these or other tweaks is just called gathering good information on a potential hire and good business.

I would be okay with all of these guys gone. Beasley, Williams, and Morse have value. The question is their price and the depth of team and needs. If cutting these players gets us Bates and Phillips and the possibility of resigning McKenzie/Wallace and 1-2 upgrades at any of the following areas: OG/ 3rd WR/2nd RB/2nd CB/Big DT/Upgraded Edge, then sign me up.

I would have preferred Dalvin Cook as the OL/RB coordinator.

This post was written at the start of Free Agency in March 2021. Condensed Version I said the Bills had to go "all-in" and that this year's season and next year would be the best Super Bowl window the team likely has with Josh Allen. This year's Rams made the Super Bowl and did this by getting Miller, Beckham, Stafford, etc. They went all-in this year. March 2021 post The Bills' roster is currently constructed to win the Super Bowl in the next two years (now 1 year) Beane has re-signed last year's squad. A solid start for continuity as a playoff contender. Now we must go over the top! This year may be the best shot to win the Lombardi. This team must go "All-In" during this brief window!This is the season where we are 1-2 pieces away. If we need a Najee Harris, a George Kittle, a Khalil Mack-type of player, go for it! Whatever player or two will fill those missing pieces, go and get it. Kick the can down the road a year or two. I don't care. Trade our picks, cut a popular overpaid veteran, restructure another deal or two. Anything less than "all-in" this year takes away this window. Yes, Allen and our younger core make it so a second window can come open in the next 10 years. Barring significant injury, the Bills' are playoff caliber this decade. But, this first window is wide open right now! A 2nd window is highly probable but no guarantee. Allen will never be cheaper. The Patriots and Jets have not gained much ground. The Ravens do not have enough offense or the Titans. The Steelers are rarely this messed up. Miami is not a threat yet. Brees is done and Rodgers may have missed his 2nd window these past two years. And, as talented as the Bills' young core is, future contracts will be massively more expensive. Depth will be harder to maintain and we may not have this many players in or around their prime for awhile. Get that DE/RB/TE/LB/TE or whatever will fill our championship hole! Ask Dan Marino and Elway about their first open window. Marino never got a 2nd one. Guys like Elway and Manning squeezed through their 2nd window and did so with significant support and a fair amount of lucky timing. Now is not the time to settle for really good. Now is the right time to push the ante upward. Throw the haymaker. Bring in the closer. Go for the jugular. Make the kill shot. This is the Window. This is the Way! (Fun Mandalorian reference). 🏈 February 2022 Update Mortgage some of the farm. Get that RB. Get that DT that suffocates the run or the DE that gets sacks. No loyalty to Morse, Hughes, Addison, Edmunds, Beasley, Haack, Sanders, etc. Get that legit 2nd TE for run blocking or that 3rd receiver. Hell with the process. Get Michael Thomas if he is healthy and only a minor a-hole. He'd love Allen. If Frazier is a liability, get him out. If he is not, this is his last year. Super Bowl trophy or bust. Playoffs is great but we passed that expectation. The path to win it only becomes harder going forward.

I live just outside of Denver. A very loyal fanbase. I admire that about them. Fans hope that they strike gold again by having Rodgers join them a la Peyton Manning. The problem is Elway is probably the most famous and revered person in Colorado. Other than "lucking" into Manning, he has been terrible with decisions and the GM's and coaches have been underwhelming. With all of that said, Denver is a solid business town, loyal sports fans, and the chance to own a franchise with so much history as well as revenue potential is worth the billions. Legitimate interest by an Elway Group, Manning Group, and even someone like Bezos probably has done his due diligence. With the property rights involved, something around $4 billion is crazy-sounding but certainly not unrealistic in any way.

The good 1. Allen is as good as it gets 2. G. Davis' growth 3. Poyer and Hyde 4. Tre White returning 5. Ken Dorsey Continuity 6. Taron Johnson and some CB Depth in Place 7. Oliver trending upward 8. Singletary might be a decent #2 The Bad 1. Our DL (old guys are done, young guys need to grow up quick) 2. Our OL improved but it still needs a lot of work 3. Punter has to go 4. LB's need an overhaul 5. Not much cap space 6. Allen is worth the money, yet surrounding him with talent gets harder 7. Schedule gets tougher. The Ugly 1. McDermott's clock management and situational awareness has cost games, including a legit shot at being the team to beat in the Super Bowl. 2. No one wants Leslie Frazier. He is decent enough not to be fired but bad enough that no one wants him. And, given other situations, letting go of a minority coach is bad business and optics. 3. The ability to draft and develop OL/DL players the last 10 years.

A running back who gets 1,000 yards as the lead back and averages 4.2-5.0 yards a carry Allen to run 350 yards or less during the regular season More aggressively going for it on 4th down at the 50 yard line or into the other team's territory. Continued increase use of short screens as part of the offense Having confidence the OL can pound the ball into the endzone when Allen is having a "B" level passing game day. A mauling interior OL Keep the play action philosophy Use the 6th OL more on short yardge situations Play a little more aggressively against teams where Bills are the better team. If Dorsey is not the OC, then pay Dorsey close to OC money to keep the QB continuity.

Focus on the game today! However, it is obvious hat both pressure and incentive would cross the minds many of players and coaches. Let's go Buffalo!

The Hoodie Reign Ended!

Hyde and Poyer have more than admirably taken on the role of "heart of the defense" as well as any Bills defenders in history. Both ought to find their way together on the Wall of Fame. Until then, let's go Buffalo!

I am just grateful to be in a situation where we are getting pissed with some evaluators thinking Allen is the 7th best QB. As others have said, Brady and Rodgers have the hardware, rings, and sustained greatness. I love that Allen has Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, and the next tier below with Murray, Prescott, etc. At the end of their careers, I believe Allen will be either the Montana or Elway of his generation, or the Brady, Manning, Brees, or Rodgers of his generation. As long as he stays healthy, we have a future HOF'er. Between now and 2027, Allen will get the ring, an MVP, and be in the conversation as a top 5 QB year-in and year-out. He will keep the Bills and himself in the conversation this next decade.

No doubt the Wonderlic was eliminated for several reasons. 1. The first probably being that it was not necessarily an accurate predictor to compare processing a quick word problem to processing a game situation. 2. Teams likely use a shorter test similar to the wonderlic for players they invite for a formal visit. 3. The NFLPA has likely pushed the narrative that the Wonderlic is inherently biased or flawed and therefore may cause an inequitable testing experience for those who are not white. I bet these were among the top 3 factors for the removal of the Wonderlic.

Top 2 talent at the position and no worse than a top 4 QB in the league for the next decade. Brady and Rodgers are two best and out the door soon. And, if Allen has similar line play/weapons he is top 3 MVP candidate. Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, and Burrow all produced similar stats and are the best 4 young guns going forward. Allen is just as good as a passer as these guys, a better runner, and his leadership and personality for a team works perfectly with Buffalo. Allen needs a few linemen, more consistent RB play and a few more short passing routes to his running backs in his tool bag. Give him those and he will be even better than a top 10 offensive player in this league.the next 10 years. A Super Bowl win and at least 1 MVP is very doable for this guy.

Please know I am being playful and am not very political. I just think these names would be a way to poke fun at Washington DC as a whole. 1. Washington Hogs- It already is a historical nickname in their history. Regardless of political affiliation, politicians "hog" the spotlight, media coverage, and people's money. And, the most compelling reason: bacon. The team could serve many bacon and barbeque dishes that would make for a nice eating experience at the stadium. 2. Washington Bullets They already had this name for their basketball team. Just think of all the types of jerseys you could come up with that has bullets in a logo. It would be so controversial and exciting. That is a lot more exciting than the WFT.

I live near Denver. Drew Lock is not someone I would want as a backup quarterback.

Shanahan for OC. I would like to see bubble screens and other short passes to our running backs. DC would be someone that gets the most out of a pash rush and stopping the run.
