  1. Thanks for the insights. It was just nice to see when our strongest aspect of offense (the passing game) was struggling that the team was able to capitalize on another team's weak run defense and prove we can do some running in key situations. The running game and run defense's ability to make stops will be that extra 10% to push toward a win against a great opponent and in a close game in two weeks time! Thanks for the insights. 2. Singletary looked like a lead back on multiple drives today! So cool to see the team eating up clock and moving the chains on the rare day Allen did not have his "A" game. If the Bills can run like today and get the usual Allen, then we got something. Besides the Falcons being a lower tier team, what did the OL do to generate the consistent running game? Bottle that formula up, copy, and paste it into the gameplan each week!
  3. Happy New Year from Colorado! Each year brings both blessings and challenges. May your year bring joy with family, friends, football, and all other things that matter in your lives.
  4. Both Falcons and Jets are games a legitimate Super Bowl contender ought to win. A winning streak and closing out the division on their own terms is what I think is best for Buffalo's playoff run. I am rooting for that and Jonathan Taylor being in safety/health protocols if we match the Colts! Better yet, let Taylor get 20 carries for 40 yards against Buffalo so our run defense creates more confidence!
  5. There are great players on this list, but there is not one player that I think "hall of fame" when thinking of the very best. Boselli, Ware, Hester, Andre Johnson, Jared Allen and Patrick Willis (for short periods of time) were among the best at their positions, so these would be the players I would most consider. Still, I don't think any of these players were significantly more important individually to their position or team's success than Tasker.
  6. I love Steve Tasker. He was my favorite Bills player during that late 80s and 90s run. While I think he was great and was the most versatile special teams player of his era undoubtedly, I have a hard time mentioning him as an "all time great." I admit I am one of those guys that wants to make the Hall smaller by kicking out good and really good players already in. If you are going to put people in, then maybe there is a tier system. Tier 1 Bills- Bruce Smith Tier 2-Thurman Thomas, Jim Kelly, Andre Reed Tier 3-Steve Tasker
  7. Yes…the three (3) that were no-brainers to any reasonable voter would be Allen, Diggs, and Poyer. Absolutely ridiculous! Tre White, if healthy, he would be #4. Milano and Poyer would be deserving alternates.
  8. Don't mind taking a look, but like others have said, a guard or tackle would be even better. OG/C/OT, RB and WR in draft or free agency.
  9. I know the passing game was significantly different in the Jim Kelly era and before, but it is still a crazy statistic to think that tonight Allen passed the 30 touchdown mark this year and that he has two (2) of the 3 seasons when a Bills QB has passed for 30+.
  10. After doing this "small wins" post, I am confident of several things. Josh Allen is the MVP despite poor line play the lack of a running game, and some head scratching genius and questionable playcalling by Daboll too often. Have to stop the rum, get a running game, and play 4 quarters.
  11. What are some indicators or stats that you consider to be important "small wins" in today's game against the Bucs? Here are some "small wins" I hope to see today. 1. One running back on the team gets 50+rushing yards and scores a touchdown. 2. The Bills hold the Bucs running game to 150 yards or less today. 3. Bills score a touchdown each half and score at least 17 points. 4. Bills front 7 gets 2 sacks on Brady. 5. Gronkowski does not score 2 touchdowns. 6. Daboll and McDermott limit frustrating decisions to two or less. What "small wins" do you hope to see?
  12. There is nothing wrong with being loyal to your team. That is perfectly fun and fine. It is what makes being a fan so exciting or frustrating. I am first a fan, but some fans are blind by loyalty. With that said, completely laughing off the logic that this coaching staff, the lack of execution and adjustments, and the inability to take advantage and win key games are facts. Fair or unfair, these facts confirm that the McDermott Era has reached its ceiling. Yes…this ceiling is better than what we experienced the previous 20 years. Just recognize that borderline playoff teams or 1st round exits is the future until ownership, the GM, coaching staff, and inability to adjust will be what keeps this team in the above average but not great/excellent category at one of the most opportune times the Bills will have to contend. Don’t shoot a fairly accurate message. And, if you want to do so, a well-thought response, rebuttal, or a different lens with rationale is appreciated.
  13. There was absolutely no reason that the Bills should have lost this game! For this reason, the Pegula’s need to clean out some of the coaching leadership. The odds of screwing up so many times in a row in a game is probably a million to one. That comes down to poor coaching and players not executing. When players screw up and coaches can not adjust, then this means that McDermott’s coaching ceiling has already been reached. He and his staff are average despite the team’s history Great Coach gets 10-14 points in the situation below. Good coach gets 6 to 7 points. Replaceable coach gets 0-3 points. 2x’s in the last 6 minutes the Patriots gift wrapped two very doable red zone touchdown opportunities. And, Allen gets sacked, an idiot TE false start, a missed field goal, and passing the ball when running could have led to more manageable play calling rather than 3rd and long and 4th and 14 situations. No adjustments…means no Confidence! The team lost at home with the best fans, better receivers, and quarterback, unbelievable opportunities to win, and the defense knowing in advance that 95% of the team’s plays would be runs. Mac Jones may have set a record in the last 40 years with 19 pass yards! In other words, our defensive line knew what was coming and the Hoodie decided to be completely one dimensional knowing the Bills could do nothing about it!!! Winning Culture Yes, there was wind and stats were not going to be as big tonight. The Bills had every reason to win and own the division. It was blanking Monday Night Football. The team had this game circled all season. No amount of clapping, rah rah, or “process” makes up for fumbling the game away. Bad coaching, players aren’t executing, and we can’t build our offense or defense with underwhelming line play, time management issues, and not getting the ball from a 30 million dollar QB not getting the ball to Diggs or a line not capable of digging in and getting 10 yards on the ground with some old-fashion tough running. Ceiling has been reached..new voices A weaker AFC, Derrick Henry going down, the Chiefs inconsistencies and Ravens, and the inability to beat playoff caliber teams, execute at key times, and the lack of consistency on the lines means this is McDermott’s ceiling. Time for Bills to make big changes!
  14. I see both Buffalo and New England finishing 11-6. The head-to-head matchups and how Patriots do against Miami is what will determine the division. I see Buffalo splitting with NE and a close game against TB.
  15. It never hurts to bring someone in. Anyone know which of the guy's has played a similar/scheme role as White? I would want someone who does not create penalties and has a quiet leadership/lunchpail approach. Are one of King, Hayden, or Kirkpatrick like that?
  16. First round playoff exit. The Titans, Colts, Ravens, Steelers, and Patriots all have the ability to run the ball. As long as we have the Swiss cheese defensive line and our one dimensional on offense, we are the 5th to 8th best team in the conference unless we play the Jets or Miami.
  17. It was for this very reason that the Bills had to go “all-in” this year. Allen’s contract going forward will make each season harder. A mauling guard, a better running back, and doing something to stop talented running games with DT/DE that punish was the recipe. Instead, the Bills wasted this season and were f***** gobbled up by the Colts because the team decided to “play not to lose” with acquisitions rather than play to win.
  18. You know that depressing song in Wedding Singer. Ok...maybe not that extreme, but it is very disheartening to have a wide open shot at being the team to beat out of the AFC.
  19. I think the biggest frustration is this season may be one of the best windows of opportunity to win the title. The stars are aligned for the Bills for this season. AFC as a whole appears to be weak. Threats like Chiefs and Patriots are minimal this season. Ravens are very beatable. Titans without Henry is a huge opportunity to stack wins. Cupcake schedule and weak division is significant. Going into this season and trade deadline every fan knew the pass rush had to improve and that the offensive line was a liability. A top 5 quarterback and a top 5 defense with all of the stars aligned rarely happens. Yet, we are pissing away and not living to the potential and promise shown the previous two seasons. And, going into future seasons, Allen’s cap # and the lack of developing cheap drafted talent around him is going to make it hard to build that offensive line. This season was the season to go all-in and correct, fix, and grow the offensive line now and going forward to learn if this is a line issue, running back issue, or coaching issue. The problem is it is all three and our perfectly aligned stars of opportunity this season are being wasted away. Frustrating!!!
  20. The NFL is a perfect cocktail for Congress. It is a distraction from real issues. Thus, Congress will spend time on this unfortunate email drama and the underbelly of NFL owners, coaches, and players. Money, power, social agendas, gambling, and everything that positive and negative in this world plays itself out in locker rooms, owners’ meeting and media deals. Then, add the platforms of rich and opinionated talking heads like Gruden or Stephen A Smith. Next, add talented but misinformed players that are extreme on either side of social justice issues. Lastly, add arrogant but foolishly flawed people like Kraft, Jones, Goodell, or Daniel Snyder as "leaders" in the NFL, and you got a dumpster fire of Congressional sound bytes. I heard once the following: If “pro” is the opposite of “con”, then why do we call it Congress instead of progress?
  21. Great Defense if we don’t face an elite power running back.
  22. So the Titans easily march down the field with Tannenhill looking like an all pro. He completed three passes (I believe three straight which included a huge 3rd and 6) to Nick Westbrook. Westbrook did not have a target before this drive. The defensive line can’t generate a pass rush with their starting LT out and the secondary can’t stop Westbrook on three straight pass plays. On short routes in a weak sauce prevent defense, this guy was Jerry Rice/Randy Moss carving us up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Man…this is the kind of game you have to win. The offense had its missteps, but this falls on an uninspiring “D” who created no pressure and made no name receivers look solid. I expected Henry to knife his way through the Swiss cheese but a stop or one pressure would have been what you expect a team to do with some pride and guts the last 5 or so minutes. Damn. Bills should have won by 10 or more easily.
  23. Bills 31 Titan 24 This is a great test for the run defense. As long as the Bills make Tennessee completely one dimensional, then I can easily see a 10+ point win. Henry is tough but if held to under 100 yards and not too msnyblong drives, our offense and pass defense will pick up another impressive/confidence building win!
  24. Love seeing those deeper passes by Allen and feeding Diggs too! The offense is humming. Only small nitpick is when it is first and goal at the 11 after a bomb to Diggs, Daboll’s got to stop these “cute” plays in the red zone. Feed Moss and Singletary. Too short passes and a run by Allen is not punching it in. This team has so much capability that it is very realistic this game is 31-3 or 31-10 at half. The Zebras reversal on that catch seemed a little fishy. NFL has to make sure that the Bills don’t blowout Chiefs. Bet the Zebras got one of those New York office phone calls. Nice 2nd Quarter! Now put them away like a tired and overmatched Wilder against Fury! Unleash a 2nd half fury crushing all hope. Let’s go Buffalo!
