  1. For me in no particular player order: If Darnell Wright, JSN of Ohio State, Bijan Robinson (the only 1st round quality back), or Jack Campbell are all not there, trade down! If the Bills happen to have a top 15-20 player on their board that is not one of these guys, I will roll with that, but I would expect that player to be a starter in a position generally viewed as less of a hole/need. What would make you want to trade down? Who's off the board for ya at #27 where you want a trade down?
  2. Running to the Podium in 1st JSN What I Really Want for WR/Draft Mike Evans: Big, strong, deep threat, proven, gets 50/50 balls. For a 2nd and 5th Trade Out of 1st. Get another pick and get the RT, LB, and Massive DT we need in this draft. Possibly Trading Up in 2nd, But Not Sold on It Unless this is Buffalo's #2 or #3 receiver on their board. Even then... Johnston and Addison WR I Like But Not Sure Why Mingo WR's I Don't Like Hyatt, Downs, Dell
  3. What is it about Dell that has everyone excited about him? He’s like 5’6 with cleats on and 165 lbs after Thanksgiving dinner. We do not need to waste any draft pick on a #6 or #7 receiver when we have Harty, Sherfield, and Hines to handle our PR/KR and speedy gadget role. Trade up or down is fine, but we need 3 quality starters out of this draft and preferably they come at some of the following positions: RT, WR, LB, DE
  4. Rashee Rice (Round 2 or Round 3) Max Duggan (Round 5-7)
  5. Don't forget FA pickup Edwards on the offensive line. Methinks he will be the RT over Brown. And, although OL appears to be less of a need, another OL may be drafted.
  6. Might as well learn and use the compensatory pick system. We are going to need as many cheap backups and contributing rookies as possible over the next couple of years. Hopefully the ability to land more picks, evaluate and draft well, and then “coaching up” will be stronger too.
  7. Damien Harris so far. I can always hope it is Bobby Wagner and Isaac Seamulo. Bates and Boettger are serviceable backups to me. Besides Milano, every Bills linebacker is at best a backup and/or limited to a few special teams packages
  8. I want a proven commodity as our Mike/2nd linebacker. Give me a player with a ring. A player that has earned All Pro honors and anchored a great defense with a veteran poise and consistent presence. That name is...Bobby Wagner
  9. You raise a good point that the general consensus on this Board was the Bills were a top 2-3 team. I think the panic is as follows: 1. We have had a good defense but when it mattered in our last two playoff exits, defense did not matter. 2. The Bills have really been a one trick pony on offense. This is the blessing and curse of Josh Allen. He is our best RB, masks most of our offensive line problems, and he and Diggs are the only two consistent threats on offense. 3. McDermott and Beane are so invested in continuity that they get in their own way at times. This is why I and some others on this board are wondering why there seems to be less urgency on the fact we have a very green OC, no true #2 receiver, and a very average offensive line when we are so close to a Super Bowl. 4. The Chiefs and Bengals stand in the way. The AFC East teams appear to all be on the rise too. NOW, is the time to win the Championship.
  10. Restructure Dawkins and Taron Johnson. And, trade Oliver for a mid-round pick (I laugh when people on this board say we can get a 2nd round pick for him.)
  11. Resign Special Teams/Cheap Backup Process Guys: Check Resign Poyer: Surprising Check Sign an average OL: Check Sign a cheap backup QB: Check To Sign List Bobby Wagner, LB Trade for Jeudy or M Evans Wish List Seamulo or Risner For me, A successful free agency has to include at least one of the 5 players mentioned from the To Sign or Wish List to get the 2nd receiver, a stronger OL, or a MLB before the draft.
  12. I am sorry if my reference of being all-in was viewed from the term in poker that you bet everything. I just believe the Bills are being a little too conservative and need to be more aggressive in their strategy through free agency, drafting, and coaching now that they have shown their a playoff caliber team. For example, safeties Epps and Ward were signed at like 6 million a year. I want Buffalo jumping in on a player like that if we are not resigning Poyer. I know the Bills cover their draft picks, but with some money restructures, get a proven guard or a proven WR. I am willing for the Bills to trade a 2nd and say a 5th for Mike Evans because the Bills may not have a better window like this again. Yes, Josh makes it possible to be competitive each year, but Marino never got back. Elway only got there because he had all pros around him that carried him. I want to know that McDermott and Beane are looking at OC and DC that aren't just rookie OC's or pals from the Panthers. I want Lavonte David or Wagner as a leader that keeps the defense competitive. And, if the Bills need to restructure some, give up a pick, or take a more aggressive call on a free agent, go for it. I would rather the Bills win 1 championship and miss the next 4 years of the playoffs than win 7 more division titles only to fall short because our coaching, online, 2nd WR, or our investments in free agency and draft were not as diversified. All-in for me means being a little more adaptable, flexible, and a willingness to change the approach a bit to at least summit the mountain once rather than being in the bridal party each year. Bills will look a lot different in next 2-3 years. The window on what I will call Josh Allen Part I is almost closed and it's a really good window.
  13. More restuctures, please to Morse, Taron Johnson, Dion Dawkins, etc.
  14. Not bad for a team's #4-#5 corner. Just needs to turn around even when he gets beat on a pass. Now, find that safety to partner withh Hyde in FA
  15. Always enjoyable to read when people agree or disagree with your opinion.
  16. Love signing players 45-48 on the roster first. With Cam Lewis, Dodson, and Mataveich resigned, we can now focus on players 49-53 to get the Practice Squad out together.
  17. This team has been so close the last two years. Yes, I want playoff continuity, but its Championship or bust right now. This is the window or in Mandalorin..."This is the way..." Restructure the other players and go "all-in." I am not saying sign one player for 20 million a year. Get another guard like Seamulo or Risner, sign RB Williams, trade for Mike Evans for a year or whomever the Bills believe fits that #2 role, and then find a mid-level player for LB and Safety and then grab a Nason Rudolph or Kyle Allen type to be a backup. The Bills are not moving forward when Dorsey is still the OC and resigning Cam "Eternal Practice Squad" Lewis and Tyler "I love playing 5% of a snaps" Mataveich are considered our free agent moves. These are stability and continuity moves. These are comfortable moves. Time to go "all-in."
  18. If this was the 2017-2018 season, yes!
  19. I am wondering if there are any DC candidates that can be complimentary to McDermott and/or provide some additional insight and strength to the staff. What about Jerod Mayo? Any other DC candidates that are intriguing? As has been said by others, crappy connections from the Carolina Panthers and then Ken Dorsey as the leader of the offensive coaching staff leaves more than a lot to be desired. In any well-run business, the current leader is also preparing a successor. Maybe that was meant to be Daboll, but we need top coordinators just like we need a better offensive line.
  20. The Bills will be just fine. They just need to prioritize their approach a little more with Allen's contract. There are a lot of restructuring opportunities if the Bills want to be a little bit more aggressive in Free Agency. Personally, I would like to see the Bills go all-in over the next two years. They may have multiple windows with Allen, but the last few years the window has never been this open in the last 25-30 years. Let Edmunds and Poyer go. Only resign Sam Martin and Dane Jackson to modest short-term deals.Restructure players. Players that only play special teams besides Bass, Ferguson, and Martin can be replaced. Personally, I want a solid guard or RT in free agency. Trade for Mike Evans. Use the draft picks and any money on restructured deals to fill in the backup QB, linebacker, and safety spots. First three rounds on OL/WR/Safety. No long-term contracts the next two seasons for anyone.
  21. The Bills have a lot of players that can have contracts restructured to free up money in free agency. Based off of Spotrac, the Bills could get $30+ million under the cap. Like other comments on this board, I don’t think Buffalo resigns Edmunds, Poyer, or even Singletary. I think the only significant resignings are Sam Martin and Dane Jackson. Here are players I believe could fit the Bills budget and some needs. Realistic targets could include Trai Turner at guard, Van Noy (got trucked by Allen), but he is similar size, length, and an above average coverage linebacker like Edmunds. Guys that would cost more but could lock down a side of the OL could be McGlinchey or a DT that is larger but consistent like Dalvin Tomlinson, as Oliver and Settle/Jones are pieces likely to be gone soon. if the Bills approach free agency in this way, the Bills would then be looking most likely at a WR, and then either a safety or interior lineman
  22. Give me Torrence, the guard from Florida in the 1st round. Give me McGlinchey in FA. Rsstructure contracts and sign Dalvin Tomlinson as a DT that eats space. Trade up and get the LSU WR (Buotte) in round 2. Resign our punter and Singletary. Use the rounds 4-7 on depth at LB, CB, OL, and safety.
  23. As the legend John Madden would occasionally say when discussing what a team needs to to win, "the object of the game is to score more points than the other team." If the Bills do that for every playoff game in a particular season, then I guarantee they win the Super Bowl.
