  1. I hear you that the Cardinals cut him. With that said, the Cardinals suck and every team knows they are intentionally tanking. Colt McCoy maybe plays well enough to help Arizona squeak out 3 wins. That makes him expendable. No Kyler Murray or Colt McCoy or semblance of an offense is what it will take to pile more losses than any other team. Arizona is a hot mess. Cutting McCoy is all about the right to draft Williams out of USC.
  2. McCoy all day before Kyle Allen. No, he is not great, but I believe he could be a veteran presence, and he can give the offense a competitive chance for 1-2 games, if needed. Bring him in and Max Duggan as a developmental prospect for the Practice Squad. While we are at it, I would drop Alec Anderson and Dodson and bring in Alex Leatherwood and Kirksey to replace those two.
  3. Thanks for the insight on coverage being a weakness for the guy, Vigil. Hopefully one of these young 3rd round picks steps up. Just curious if there is anyone (Christian Kirksey, etc) that may be an upgrade or at least raise the floor a bit on that position.
  4. I was looking at roster cuts. Nick Vigil intrigues me. He is about 240 lbs and has played both outside and inside in a 4-3, though mainly off ball. He was in Jets camp and was cut, but he has 7 years in the league with a good amount of starting experience. Anyone know more about him? Could he play MLB and/or be a fit for the Bills?
  5. Very informative. Thanks. I appreciate those who can breakdown offensive and defensive concepts in a simple way.
  6. Lance needs a fresh start. I wish him well. Overdrafted, injuries, and on a team that needs a consistent QB. Too bad he landed with Cowboys, but maybe it gives him a chance to develop.
  7. Steve Tasker can be summed up in two quick sentences. He is an all-time great Bills player, and a fan favorite player. He is an all-time terrible local news coverage guy for the Bills and interviewer.
  8. The penalties and the inability to generate any offense flow or stop on defense is concerning. Yes, this game does not count. Still, the Bills got outplayed, outcoached, and they definitely are not as far along as I would hope a few weeks until the season starts.
  9. Winning a Super Bowl takes care of these lists, and neither Allen or Diggs are egregiously ranked on this list heading into this year. Allen falls between 2-4 on most QB lists, and last year, he probably played the 4th best season at QB. Talent-wise and responsibility for his team success he’s #1. No complaints on Allen’s ranking. Diggs at #5 is reasonable. Most rationale fans would have him in the 3-7 range. The ranking of Cooper Kupp is only a surprise because of injury, otherwise, the year before he had an all-time level WR season. I personally would put Diggs at #4, but no real argument with people voting Jefferson, Hill, Chase, Kupp, or someone like Davante Adams ahead of him. Both are fairly ranked. Now, let’ see if we can get a Dalton Kincaid, James Cook, or O’Cyrus Torrence to join them in the top 100 in the next couple of years. Go Bills!
  10. John McCargo. I never heard of the guy before the draft. Then, I got excited because the Bills traded back into the 1st round to get another difference maker. I remember thinking, this ship is going to turn around. It did, but it was about 10 years after McCargo, and it had nothing to do with him!
  11. I have some extended family in St. George and have been to the city numerous times. Solid place. As others have noted, here are some potential huge positives. Some of the best hiking, national parks, golf courses, biking, and outdoor recreation you will find in western US. Very pro business state and lots of business growth opportunity. Quality hospitals because St. George caters to retirees and to middle to upper middle class families. Two classic places to try for tasty but cheap eats are Brick Oven Pizza and Nielsen's Frozen Yogurt. Great location to access Las Vegas as well as Southern California without the taxes, traffic, crime, etc. Everyone likes to put their critique (fair or unfair) on Mormons. I get that, and that's fair. I will just say that the majority of people I have met in Utah are pro family, pro business, pro sports/outdoor recreation, and yes, more conservative socially and politically. I have had many pleasant interactions with people in St. George whether Mormon or not. Some drawbacks The city is growing so housing prices continue to rise. It does get very hot in summer. Not Vegas temperatures, but very warm. Not going to find many Bills fans or many NY level bars. Good thing... high school and college football is definitely supported in Utah. Best of luck.
  12. I feel there is less national media pressure on the Bills. I feel that fans (including myself) will be more realistic of who we are (a top 8 team), and if the team plays solid on both sides in the playoffs then we can compete with anyone. I feel more comfortable about our offensive line being better. I believe the team is a little more well-rounded and if we avoid major injuries, we will put up a strong fight to make the AFC Championship game. I think Diggs needs to play with that chip but get off of social media as he is a leader and not meant to be a locker room problem. Division and AFC looks to be much more daunting, so I expect about 11 wins but more battle tested for playoffs. I believe the Bills have a two-year Super Bowl window right now with this current roster, then they must retool, so McDermott, Beane, Allen, and everyone need to know that this is delivery season.
  13. And, hopefully a few extra offensive lineman can yield another 6th or 7th rounder in a trade before the season. With that said, if the Bucs are willing to take a 3rd for Mike Evans, then there is no need to worry about Gabe Davis and some cap juggling could get him in.
  14. Please no. Team just overpaid Ed Oliver about $9 million per year.
  15. I think it is lower, but he will get two years with some bonus opportunities. 2 year and $26 million with escalators that can pay him up to $16 million per year.
  16. Maybe a PS guy signing. I like that Beane continues to look for potential upgrades and depth. Still would love to see Mike Evans playing for the Bills.
  17. My reasons for optimism are fairly simple. The Bills have Josh Allen, the best fan base, a solid culture, and a top 5 team overall. They know how to win their division. They have had the experience of the highs and lows of playoff battles. My reasons for pessimism are also fairly simple. Will Beane, McDermott, and the team play to its ability for 60 straight minutes when the playoff pressure is on? Will Beane make that one move for another WR to make us super scary on offense or one difference-making DE unto Miller returns to keep the other offense slightly uncomfortable at times?
  18. One topic of mine that has involved in the opposite direction is Special Teams. Guys like Tasker made a difference in multiple facets and Special Teams gunners, blockers, and tacklers made a team. For the life of me, I have come to believe that McDermott believes that every team is required to have a handful of players that do nothing for you. Most of these players are what we call "Special Teams" aces. The Bills have had few of these in actuality, yet they seem required to give a roster spot each year to Taiwan Jones.
  19. Interesting post topic. Thanks. My thoughts on going for it on 4th down have changed over time. I currently believe that if you have an above average offense and your at the 50 yard line or on the other team's side of the field, I would recommend going for it a lot more than when I first started watching and playing football in the late 80s.
  20. McDermott is a good coach. The criticisms like others have said have merit to them. I would really like to see him be more aggressive on defense and find someone to mentor Dorsey if he likes him as his OC. He has a couple of hurdles to make that are huge. It is what separates a good coach from a great coach to a legendary coach.
  21. Although it is a tough schedule, playing Cincy, KC, Philly, Dallas, and an expected improved division will certainly be good for the team to become battle tested and get a sense of where they are at prior to the playoffs.
  22. Bills look good overall. It's mainly staying healthy, getting a good start in the division, and executing more consistently throughout the season and hitting the playoffs playing their best football. Another proven edge rusher would be ideal. I'm fine with RB, DT (for this year). We will see if McDermott calling the defense makes the loss of Edmunds less impactful than we may currently think/believe. Let's get these rookies going and hope this draft class produces some starters and quality depth with cheaper contracts.
  23. Well, if that is true, no thanks. He was cut by the Colts
  24. Nick Foles would be a more talented QB than K. Allen or M. Barkley. I like that he has won big games and that he is a big and strong QB like Allen. Obviously, K. Allen is a close friend and Barkley knows the system. Would not feel comfortable with anyone but #17 leading the team, yet Foles has shown to be reliable to win games when thrust into starting off the bench. Wondering if bringing Foles in for due diligence is the best call or not mess with the Bromance of Josh and his buddies.
