Tua had the same injury as Bo Jackson, and we all know how that turned out. I'd have to think it'll have at least some effect on his long-term mobility, but with all the medical advances, who knows.

I live in Chicago, so I had seen first-hand for 5 years how awful of a coach Dick Jauron was. When I heard he was in the running for the Bills' coaching job, my heart sank. I felt sick to stomach for days after he was hired. I knew exactly how it'd turn out, and had to watch it unfold. That was the darkest Bills era for me.

Shenault is a final piece to an already explosive offense, not a foundational building block to an offense, which is what we need. He'd make sense as a first rounder to a team like the Packers or Saints, but we need a WR who can run the whole route tree from day 1. There just isn't 1st round value in the "McKenzie role", no matter how amazing a guy is. If we could pair Shenault with Van Jefferson in the 3rd, I'd feel a lot better about it.

We'd have to make Cooper the highest paid WR in the league to get him here, it'd be another Mario Williams situation. He's not even close to worth that. I like the idea of getting AJ Green. I know he's had injuries the past few years, but they're more the freak injury type than recurring. Just because it's happened before doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen again. He has (if healthy) at least another 2 years of high level play, and would be the perfect bridge to the WR(s) we draft in the top 3 rounds this year. Green would be a lot cheaper & shorter term than Cooper, and is a much better player (again, when healthy).

McShay - Bills pass on WR and take RB Swift in 1st.

McShay is such a tool. His entire goal is clickbait, not educated analysis. -
4.55 to 4.48 is a half-step, that's a pretty good difference in coverage.

I think the Eagles are looking at a pure speed guy like Ruggs or Reagor. They already have big-bodied WRs, their need is completely different than ours.

How fast is Josh Allen and can he get faster?
947 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen's running technique in his Combine 40 is horrendous. When you watch it, it's almost comical, looks like an interior lineman. Most guys train hard for the 40, & learn a proper track start, and how to maximize posture & acceleration. I know he said he trained with a speed coach, but I'd guess it was only a couple times based on how he looked. I think it made him run in a way he wasn't yet accustomed to, and it was awkward for him. He is a 10x better runner & athlete than that 40 indicated. Josh is a top-5 runner at QB, no doubt about it. -
Who Is Your Least Favorite Bill of All Time ... and Why?

McGahee for me, eff that guy. -
I just watched Uche vs Iowa, the vid showed every play he was on the field. He made zero plays in the game. He tried to speed rush or bull rush every time, and was easily stopped by the OT, no secondary moves. He did help collapse the pocket once or twice but never even got near the QB. He ended up on the ground 5 times, and surprisingly dropped into coverage 5-6 times too. I haven't seen any of his other games, but was very unimpressed by the Iowa tape, he was invisible.

Revisiting the 2019 Bills Draft. How do they rate?
947 replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still looks good overall, but I think everyone here would rather have taken AJ Brown in the 2nd. -
FOX Sports tabs Devin Singletary RoTY candidate

His utilization rate is one of the most baffling in the league. All those games where he had <10 carries but averaged 7+ yards/per, while Gore had more touches, just makes no sense. He'd be playing in the Pro Bowl if he was used correctly. It makes no sense to load-manage Running Backs. Most have a shelf life of 6-7 years, there's no reason not to use them heavily. -
Bills fan petitions NFL to move Super Bowls to Saturdays
947 replied to class_of_2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been saying this for years. It wasn't bad when the game used to be earlier Sunday, but now with it going so late, having to party on a Sunday night sucks. The teams have 2 weeks off, losing 1 day is fine for them. -
Target WR Breshad Perriman FA Tampa Bay
947 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree he was great the last few weeks of the season, but his biggest knock has always been drops. I know he dropped 2 TDs in a game earlier this year. No idea if you're getting the 5-week stud, or the guy he was before that. I think if we sign a WR, it'll somebody to help with our drop %, not contribute to it. -
Claypool seems to have an average of 6 inches of separation on his catches in that highlight reel. He does look great going after 50/50 balls, but he will have a VERY tough time getting open in the NFL. He also doesn't seem to have much open-field YAC ability, he runs right into tackles & goes down by the first tackler way too much. I don't see him as a year 1 contributor at all, but as a project, I could get behind him.

Wow, really impressed with Van Jefferson. I hope his age & other talent at the position drop him to the 2nd. I'd be ecstatic with him in Rd 2.

A Haters Guide for Rooting for Remaining Teams

Josh Allen grew up a Niners fan. I'm cool with them winning it. -
Take your bets now what top 15 pick will fall?
947 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tua will fall. I bet his medicals are scary enough that he'll drop to the bottom of the 1st, or even day 2. His injury is the same as Bo Jackson's, and he probably can't play in year 1. Huge risk for a top pick. Who knows, maybe his agent will pull a McGahee & get somebody to bite... -
Brady’s fate in the hands of Belichick and Kraft

Brady was already maybe the 15th best QB this year. Another year of deterioration, and he's lucky to be Andy Dalton. -
John Brown failure to toe drag
947 replied to Lieutenant Aldo Raine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even in youth football, we coach to never leave your feet to catch a ball when you don't need to. There's zero reason Brown needed to jump to catch a chest-high ball. If I had an 8th grader do that, I'd have been flipping out. Really bad play by Brown. -
I've been saying that since I was a kid, lol. My friend and I tried to make an O-Fence sign when we were teens, but the fence looked stupid & we didn't bring it to the game. Still never seen one at a game.
-
Green is the perfect addition for us. Sure, he's had injuries, but he could step in day 1 & be a WR1. He'd come for a semi-reasonable 1-2 year deal. We still NEED to draft a guy in the first 2 rounds, and we'd be set at WR.

NFC Playoff Games: Seattle at Philly, 4:20 EST
947 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Renfroe is a Beasley clone, I totally understand not drafting him. Allen needed a strong slot WR who could be ready to go from day 1, Beasley was the right choice. I do think he was under-utilized, but Beez is a top-10 slot guy. Now passing on DK & AJ Brown for Ford, yeah that's something that Beane has to be kicking himself for. -
I hate when we run RPO plays, it seems like Josh makes the wrong read every time. Give to Singletary off-guard for no gain when the edge is open. Keep it for 1 yard when Singletary had a hole up the middle.

Even that missed TD shows that Duke can do things nobody else on our roster can. He needs to play every game.
