Anybody surprised at the lack of running thus far?
947 replied to DCofNC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our OL actually seems to be better at pass blocking than run blocking now. Also, Passing 60% is pretty typical of a modern NFL offense. I know there are a few teams built around the Run, but they're in the minority. I think we have the right balance based on talent, though I would like to see our RBs more involved in the passing game. -
Manning- obviously a lock. Charles Woodson- 8x All Pro, DPOY, Super Bowl Champ- a lock Alan Faneca- 8x All Pro, Super Bowl Champ. gets in eventually Jared Allen- 12th all-time in sacks, 4x All Pro. I think he gets in, but could wait several years. Calvin Johnson- retired at 30, numbers good enough to eventually get in, but not first year. Sam Mills- 3x All Pro, 3x All USFL, 2 USFL Championships. It's the "Pro Football" HOF, so USFL should count. Among the best tacklers of the modern era, I'd love to see him get in.

Yep. But Philly won't trade him, they have very little at WR & need both TEs.

The packers really blew it selecting Love
947 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They really did blow their draft, and probably wasted Rodgers' last hurrah. Taking Love in the late 1st was idiotic, they could've had their choice of Pittman Jr/Shenault/Mims/Tee Higgins. They also took AJ Dillon in the 2nd, who's nowhere near ready to contribute for them, there were impact players available. -
Brian Daboll is on the hotseat starting TOMORROW
947 replied to Penfield45's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's just as much about McD sitting on 8-point leads than Daboll calling the plays. If we can still be be aggressive with a lead on offense instead of making every game close, we'll take the next step. -
I wonder if the opt-outs are having second thoughts
947 replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm curious if the opt-outs have even stayed in shape. Star could be taking a year-long vacation & be grossly overweight for all we know. -
CBS All Access / VPN experiment failed
947 replied to Ra-cha-cha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can anyone confirm that the Bills App will have the games live? I didn't get an email from them about it, but if that works, everyone's problems are solved. My backup plan is nflstreams. I tried it tonight for the Chiefs game & it worked flawlessly, on a few second delay. -
Which Bills did you draft in fantasy?
947 replied to BuffaloBillies's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got Allen & Moss. CBS rankings had Bills-D ranked #23, so I thought I could wait until the 2nd to last round. Some dumbass took them as a 2nd Defense right before my pick, had to take Titans-D. -
Hopkins has 830 targets over the past 5 seasons to Diggs' 534. Diggs will never get the volume in our offense to get very close to Hopkins' numbers. He'll probably get a new deal at some point, but nowhere near what Hopkins got. Hopefully he enjoys winning.

Question: Is Moss pushing Devin to start?
947 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fantasy football people out there are all expecting for Moss to eventually be the primary back, Moss is even going before Singletary in a lot of drafts. I suspect this is mostly groupthink speculation. I keep reading (on fantasy sites) that Moss has looked better in camp & Singletary has fumbled too much, but I've heard next to nothing positive or negative about Moss all camp & nothing of Devin fumbling. If there was any truth to this, at least for week 1, I assume all of TBDers would know about it. -
I think McKenzie is cut. The "gadget" role is a remnant of when we didn't have the weapons to run a modern NFL offense & needed to use smoke & mirrors. Those days are gone.

Figuring out the OL depth chart
947 replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, I like Bates a lot. He would be our best option as backup Center, and can play OT in a pinch. -
For the NFL as a whole, way more injuries. Look at MLB, the amount of star players missing time is staggering. I have faith that our trainers are among the best in the league, but we'll still have some, with abbreviated everything, it's inevitable. Not to mention when players test posistive for Covid... MLB teams cancel games for up to a week after 1 player gets a positive test. When that happens on an NFL team, there's no way they play a game that week. NFL doesn't have the ability to play double-headers, or even play multiple games per week, and there's no open weeks at the end of the season to make those up. My guess is there'll be teams that only play 13-14 games, while others may play all 16. They're gonna have to use winning percentage to determine playoff teams.

Anyone else made a Diggs nameplate for their Watkins jersey?
947 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the quality update on Namechanger. I have an old Watkins I was gonna try them out on, now I won't bother. -
It just mimics contact in a moving pocket. Some teams use pool noodles or pads to whack at the QB, same concept.

That Norwood jersey is hilarious. Would buy that guy a beer if I saw it in person.

What would/should a Milano extension look like?
947 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Milano is an ideal for the Bills defense, and not so much for most other teams. While I think he's worth a pretty big deal to us, I don't think he'll get as much because of that limited market for him. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely want him locked up, but I don't think he'll get close to Dawkins' deal. -

Well that fracking sucks... -
Is now the time to remove OJ Simpson from the wall of fame and HOF?
947 replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
You get on the Wall based on your on-the-field body of work, not being a great person. You shouldn't get that revoked for the opposite. Whatever a player does off the field doesn't change their sports career, only perception of them as a person. If OJ was involved in a murder trial while he was still playing, yeah he's not going up on the Wall. But he's already there & one of the best RBs of all time. -
Rumor/Speculation only: Will Pats sign Kapernick?
947 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I'd love to see both Kaeperick & the Pats fail, I don't want that POS to get another NFL job. Even if he was a backup, coverage of him would dominate sports news for the whole season, I'd rather burn my eyes with a blowtorch than have to suffer through that. Imagine ESPN covering the Bills AFC Championship Game win for 45 seconds, before a 5 minute segment on Kaepernick & his latest protest... -
Have you ever been to a Bills home game in Buffalo?
947 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've only been to 3, and it's been 16 years since the last. Lived in IL all my life. When my kids were born, I decided to wait until they were old enough to endure the antics at the Ralph to hit a game, but by that time they were playing football every Sunday. I'm trying to make a late season game work this year, it'll be their first. -
Arians is a favorite because he traded for a HOF QB? If they somehow won 13 games, the difference would have to be Brady, not coaching. I can't wait to see Brady fall on his face in Tampa.
