I've lived in the Chicago area my whole life & I'm a big Cubs fan. The Bartman incident shares an even plane in my memory with the Music City Forward Lateral. I admit, it's easier to stomach when the Cubs get eliminated from the playoffs than it used to be, because they did win it recently. It was awesome when the Cubs finally won it, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a Bills Superbowl win.

Plus or Minus that Allen keeps throwing to struggling receivers?
947 replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did notice a play last night where Knox was open for a 9-10 yard pass, and Josh went to Diggs who was underneath him. It was early in the 2nd half & I remember noting to myself that it was likely due to trust. -
All I want for Christmas is a Josh Allen bobblehead
947 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was looking at Allen bobbleheads online yesterday, I had the same thought. I'm not paying inflated ebay prices if it doesn't look like Josh. There was a Diggs one that's a spitting image. -
Is anyone else wishing for a Brady vs Bills Super Bowl?
947 replied to Captain Caveman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I'd love to play Brady in Superbowl, the only way the Bucs even win a playoff game is if they get to play the NFC East winner. And even then it's a pick-em'. -
Nobody is trading for Wentz with that $34.6M cap hit in 2021, plus giving up a pick. The Eagles will have to cut him & eat the dead money. After he's cut, then yeah I could see Pittsburgh or the Pats interested. Steelers, Pats, Colts, Bears, Saints, & 49ers could all be looking for a new QB. Wentz, Darnold, & Winston are likely the best available and are all major reclamation projects. Who knows what'll happen.

He came back in the game.

Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll
947 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daboll is a really good OC, but I'm not sure he'd make a good Head Coach. He can be a hot head, and that's not usually what NFL players respond wee to. That said, he'll definitely get some interest this offseason. -
I kept hearing that he 49ers were the #1 team in the NFL vs slot receivers coming into the game. Challenge Accepted... All fumbles that occur on the hand-off are credited to the QB. It's always been that way. It was 100% on Moss, but Allen takes the hit.
-
Moss' fumble was 100% nerves. He never even had the ball, he knew it was a big moment & just choked, it happens. I expect he'll learn from it & work his way back to being reliable in the coaches' eyes.

You're right, Winters was announced with his pic in the little box, but we wasn't out there. Yeah, I agree about the announcers, I heard them mention Brian McDermott & Mike Milano...

Winters was announced with the starters, pretty sure he started.

Week 13 MNF Bills @ 49ers in Phoenix 2nd Half Thread

Boettger sighting! -
A guy I used to know was a huge Allen Iverson fan as a kid, waited & saw him after a game. The kid walked up to him, smiling in total awe, and Iverson barked "What the f@*k you want, white boy?", and walked on by. He was crushed, and forever hated AI after that. If a guy is an epic a-hole, that doesn't usually change just because he gets famous & kids look up to him.

Week 13: Sunday Games Thread, Around the League

The Pats have a game or 2 like that every year, where they get multiple non-offense TDs. -
How about Aaron Jones at RB next year?
947 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jones is no doubt better than both of our backs, but he will command a very big deal for RB. No way that happens here, Beane is too smart to pay top dollar for the easiest position to draft. I think he gets $12M+ from some poorly managed team. -
AJ Klein named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
947 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ is a savage tackler, easily the best on the team in that area. Playing him to his strengths allowed that to shine through. Now let's hope McD & Frazier keep using him in that role. I'd like to see Milano play the big nickel role & keep AJ playing the hybrid blitzer/MLB role. -
Replace Taron Johnson with Milano in our base defensive set, problem solved.
-
What bothers me about Edmunds' tackling, is he likes to pull the ball carrier down on top of himself, instead of driving through him, which always gives up an extra 2-3 yards. It's often 2nd & 2, instead of 2nd & 5 because of this. He did it a few times early yesterday, but did start stopping guys properly later in the game. Overall, I agree he has been much better than the first several games.

When the Music City Forward Lateral happened, I took my Bills hat off & fired it at my tv. The hat stuck in the gap between the tv & the entertainment center (pre-flatscreen). Hours later when I'd stopped fuming, I took the hat out, the bill was cracked in half.
-
I have the solution... Milano at Big Nickel. Taron Johnson has been the weakest link in our back-7 all year. Milano playing there gets him & Klein on the field at the same time, this would make us a legit tough Defense again. If we want to win in the playoffs, this is what we need.

More than 50% of QB rank lists by NFL analysts had Darnold ahead of Josh as recently as 11 weeks ago, which now looks as nuts as we all thought it did then. The only teams who'd consider trading for Darnold would be the ones who need a young QB & don't have an early enough pick to draft one. That leaves the Colts, Bears, & maybe Steelers or Pats. I don't think the 49ers move on from Jimmy G unless it's for a QB that's proven to be better. Darnold hasn't shown anything close to that.
