  1. Richardson has an injury to his orbital bone, his body is fine. No idea how severe it is, or why he hasn't been cleared. It was a pre-game stretching band that snapped & got him in the face. NBA players play through orbital fractures with a face shield, I'd have to think Richardson could potentially do the same with the added protection of a helmet & shield. Especially seeing as these remaining games this year could be his last shot at starting in the NFL.
  2. The first time he got checked out, he called to the trainers himself right after the play. You can see him pointing to his head & yell something toward the sideline. The 2nd time was worse, he immediately grabbed the back of his head with both hands & looked to be really feeling it. These weren't questionable situations where checking him for concussion seems stupid, he was rocked. I can't believe he got back in after the first one, let alone the 2nd.
  3. What about Poyer at Nickel? He still has very good tackling ability & Hanock is better as a coverage Safety.
  4. If we play the soft zone with CBs 12 yards off & backpedaling like the last 2 times we played the Bengals, they'll score 40+. Need to play aggressive coverage & probably still need 30 points to outscore them.
  5. Hancock only getting 4 snaps is concerning. Hopefully that was due to suspected run-heavy game plan by the Steelers. Poyer seemed to play ok, but I think we'll need Hancock's speed for the Bengals.
  6. Concepcion does cool dances after he scores, Beane may see that as anti-process.
  7. I can't wait for a defender to catch a guy mid-air who goes up for a ball 10 yards from the sideline & walk him out of bounds while he struggles to get his feet on the ground. It's technically not against the rules.
  8. There is also a trend in youth/HS kickers doing specialized training just to be kickers. Kickers used to be kids who played other positions too. Now they're training at places like Kohl's Kicking Camp or other similar places from pretty young ages. They do regional/national competitions and rankings like the big QB camps do. Learning the proper kicking mechanics early is huge, not many (if any) youth or HS programs can properly train a kicker. I personally know 2 high school kids who started specializing in Jr High & attended kicking training for years. Both are trending toward playing D1.
  9. It's kind of add that the Giants would fire him for blowing a lead & losing a game in which he lost his QB and was already without his top WR & RB. The Giants were on the upswing & looked like a legit spoiler team before the Skattebo injury. This is a pretty good destination for the next coach if he can fix the OL.
  10. Josh should work with a Sports Psychologist, and get his mojo unlocked. It's still there, but lying dormant for some reason.
  11. They put Solomon into Hoecht's role after the injury. On one play when I specifically watched him, he lined up inside & brought great delayed pressure resulting in an incompletion. I agree we definitely need to keep using that role, whether it's Solomon or Dorian.
  12. Maybe not a great idea to tell this to the world & give the Chiefs to correct the tell before we meet again in the playoffs.
  13. I'm pretty sure Arizona would look to move on from Kyler Murray before they'd part with Harrison.
  14. Jakobi gets open, a lot. And he catches the ball when he does. He's not a burner, but he'd get open on all those plays where Josh scrambles for 4 seconds & frantically looks for ANYBODY even remotely open to throw to. That said, this is the exact same thing we were sold on with Palmer, and he's barely been used. Just when it looked they were started to utilize him more, the hip drop tackle happened. I'd still prefer Shaheed, but Meyers would absolutely help our pass game.
  15. 0% chance Miami keeps McDaniel next year. The only question is if he finishes out the season. Glenn was always just a sacrificial lamb for this one season, much like Lovie Smith was for the Texans a few years ago. I wouldn't call his seat hot, he was almost guaranteed to be gone after a year. Daboll probably bought himself another year with the Eagles win, plus the injuries.
  16. Backup RB is very much in the top 10 issues we have, we just haven't had a reason to care about it yet. If Cook missed a game, we'd have no way to move the ball with teams keying on the short pass. Both Ray & Ty have looked terrible running the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if we traded for a cheap RB with some juice for a late pick. Maybe they'd IR Ray, who knows.
  17. This rep shows exactly why Max should be on the field 100% of the time. He plays his zone, then sees the crossing route headed his way & gets there before it becomes a problem. Too many of our DBs/LBs are content to stay home in the middle of their zone, then too slow to react to routes coming their way until the ball is already caught. If that was Tre in coverage, that's a TD on the crosser.
  18. There was still a ton of soft zone that left guys wide open on short routes & crossers. A lot of that was made irrelevant by the pass rush or Dalton bobbling snaps, but Tetairoa had 99 yards on mostly easy catches & could've had much more with even average QB play.
  19. It's a lot easier to execute a successful tush push when Chris Jones isn't on the D Line.
  20. Bengals will put up 30+ on us even with Flacco. But we might score 50 on their D.
  21. Josh sets the protections, that's on him. Still, he has evaded similar blitzes dozens of times- just not that one.
  22. Jags fans are saying BTJ is playing through a shoulder injury, potentially a torn labrum. If true, that would explain the short-arming & avoiding contact. He's probably frustrated with the quality of targets he's getting too. His stats while Lawrence was out last year were better than with him.
  23. I agree that we have some talent, and could be much improved on paper. But McD's 20yr old defensive scheme that is built on "soft zone" coverage will still crap the bed against any capable offense. The Defense might come out & look amazing this week vs Andy Dalton & a middling offense, but when we play Mahomes the next week, it'll look like he's playing 7-on-7 vs our coverage.
  24. I like him as a player, but no way can we fit his contract & still add help at DB or WR. For that reason, it's an obvious pass.
  25. I don't get Kincaid & Samuel possibly missing another game with a rib & oblique. They'll both have 3 weeks since they last saw contact. It's not like they have to throw a ball, it's most likely just pain management. Get a toradol shot, wear rib protection if needed, suit up and help dig this team out of the hole we've created.
