  1. Von was at LDE on Rapp's INT. He stunted inside & was starting to pressure the pocket up the middle, though he had no effect on the pass. But I agree, he should not have been out there in that situation. It looked like it may not have been a planned stunt & he just took the easier path. If that's the case, hopefully it's the final straw to not playing him.
  2. I've had a Grade 2 MCL sprain. The entire side of my knee was purple/black & the swelling was crazy, it was 6 weeks before I was able to sprint, and even then still limited. Even with NFL doctors, Watt won't be able to play this week.
  3. We need to go back to the Spread. We're using the bunch formations & jumbo packages way too much. Yeah, we're running well out of those, but our WRs aren't getting separation quick enough. Spread it out, and the quick reads will be there again. And Sherfield should only see the field if somebody gets hurt, there's a "miscommunication" more than 50% of the time he's targeted. I think we've all seen enough.
  4. My favorite comparison stat: Bernard has 6.5 sacks so far in his first season as a starter. Edmunds has 6.5 career sacks over 6 seasons.
  5. I live in the Chicago-area & I can tell you The Ralph is a 100x better stadium experience than Soldier Field. I've been to several other NFL stadiums & not been blown away by any, but I haven't been to LA or Dallas. The worst was the dome in St Louis while the Rams were there. Domes suck, but it was also the most quiet large building I've ever been inside of. We ditched our seats and moved up to 10th row behind the Rams' bench. Between plays, I could hear an entire conversation between Kurt Warner & Jason Sehorn.
  6. If we come out in the Frazier-style soft zone & let Zappe pick us apart on the first drive with 20 yard routes with our safeties 10 yards off, we'll know it's gonna be another nail biter.
  7. He did sorta get a pressure on Poona's sack, though Oliver impacted the play more. Von drove the RT back into the QB & forced him to step up to avoid the collision, he then had to avoid Oliver & Poona cleaned it up. But other than that play, Von is a total non-factor as a pass rusher. I know he was credited with a tackle tonight, but I don't remember seeing it. He should not be playing, especially on money downs.
  8. Waived means he has to go through the waiver process. If somebody claims him off waivers, they pay the remainder of his current salary. If he's not claimed, he becomes a FA & can sign for any amount offered.
  9. Wings are exactly the same. I was at one in Buffalo a few weeks before the IL one opened, I went in for a comparison & surprisingly noticed no difference. They have Labatt's on tap, which I don't think I've ever seen around here anywhere else.
  10. In the city, Delilah's is the only one I know of. Anchor Bar opened a location in Oswego about a year ago, it's a western suburb 20ish miles outside Chicago. There's a Bills Backers chapter listed there, Chi-town Backers. I live reasonably close & been there several times, but not on game day.
  11. Lamb lines up in the slot a decent amount. I'd love to see Douglas shadow him wherever he goes, I don't want Taron going against him regularly.
  12. I have a feeling his FA experience will be similar to Poyer's & he'll come back cheap. Teams will see that he had 3 games with 0 catches & 2 games with only 1 catch, and won't be offering $8M+. Either that or he ends up in KC & catches 10 TDs...
  13. Yes there is, you cannot aid a runner by pulling them. Pushing is fair game.
  14. I think it's definitely worth getting in contact with him. Hopefully he's been working his craft in all the downtime. Martin needs to go.
  15. Every receiver is supposed to check-in with the ref. If you're on the line, you hold your fist forward while looking at the ref. The ref will either give you a thumbs-up or motion backwards or forward & give you the thumbs-up once you're good. If you're supposed to be off the line (slot), you hold a fist backwards & look at the ref, same process. It's not a rule at any level of football that you have to check-in, but 99% of coaches require their players to do it. At the very least, if you cause an illegal formation penalty by not checking-in, you'll find yourself in the doghouse. I coach 8th grade football, I had an issue with this twice this year, both resulting in penalties. The players got an earful about checking in on every single play.
  16. Dallas pass rush looks ridiculous tonight. The way KC pressured Josh in the 2nd half scares me, and Dallas is better. The O/U on holding calls by our Tackles vs Parsons is 3. If we can overcome that rush, we win.
  17. Maybe Belichick & Reid being fired was the catalyst to make them & decide to make the necessary changes in their coaching to take the next step in their next coaching gig. This is where I think McD is now. He clearly coaches scared, lacks aggressiveness, and struggles to close-out games. If he stays in Buffalo another year, he will have learned nothing from all of his mistakes & continue coaching the same way he always has. If he gets canned, maybe, just maybe, he'll be forced to re-evaluate what he needs to do to be a better coach for his next team.
  18. At least Brazil is only a 2-hour time difference from ET. Much better than the Europe game time changes.
  19. You can see the surgery scar on his right wrist in the engagement photo, and part of his arm still shaved. Hope he's back soon.
  20. The Guard play overall has been a significant improvement over last year. There's still some mistakes on stunts & occasional misses, but we're never overmatched there like we were so often in 2022. I feel really good about Torrence & McGovern for the future.
  21. I watched Odunze in the game yesterday and wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. He played well overall, but wasn't the best Washington WR in this game. He relies on his physical attributes & strong hands to out-position DBs for the ball, not really a route-running technician. He somewhat reminds me of Quentin Johnson at TCU last year, who was dominant in college but considered somewhat raw coming into the NFL. Those type of WRs usually aren't immediate contributors, and take time.
  22. You know the top-4 WRs will go before us & Beane will trade our 3rd to move up 2-3 spots for a 2nd tier WR that was "our last player rated with a 1st round grade".
  23. I totally agree about the benching of Cook. We had at least 5 different players with a drop yesterday, while Cook's was the only that would've been a TD, it's still ridiculous that he's singled out. The only positive, is if Cook hadn't been benched for a time these 2 games, we wouldn't know how good Ty Johnson can be. He looks really good.
