  1. It's a toss up game, Rams have a slightly better defense but it is about a push as both defense are pretty dam good. Rams special teams are slightly better since their kicker is better and they have Austin who is a threat in the return game. Bills have a better offensive unit, I would take Tyrod at QB and the Bills offensive line while skill positions are a push. Rams of course are at home which is an advantage. This seems to me like it is going to be a 1 score game that comes down to turnovers and one or two big plays. If the Bills are a playoff team they win this game, if they lose tough road to hoe.
  2. Shaq can easily slide into a situational role. Lorenzo Alexander is playing well but at 33 he could wear down as the season goes so having Shaq take some snaps in particular situations (maybe early downs and some running situations) can help preserve Alexander for the long haul. A lot of times you see these vets come out to strong starts 4-6 games into the season and then they either get hurt of slow down over the long haul. Shaq can't be rushed in but he certainly can play 30ish snaps a game which lessens the load on Alexander which could make him more effective as the season goes. Plus in December as Shaq gets stronger and maybe Alexander is falling off you put Shaq into the starting role and then Alexander takes the situational role.
  3. Pryor is a stud "weapon" on the field. Big guy, strong, and fast with solid but not great hands. But what really makes him dangerous is the ability to throw him in the wildcat and the trick plays you can do with him. As a guy who picked him up in fantasy to be my flex player I hope he has a great year. Certainly has the physical tools and will have the targets from a Browns offense not getting back Josh Gordon and a team that will probably be down a lot.
  4. Since 2011 the year after Buddy Nix got here the drafting and talent acquisition has been much better than it was in the previous eras. Defensively they drafted up Gilmore, Darby, A.Williams, Dareus, Preston Brown, and Kiko (Who looked like a stud before injuries and now looks to be rebounding in Miami.) Offensively the drafting has been a bit up and down but they have managed to find talent. They have made much better free agency acquisitions and trades since then too (Including reclamation projects like Hughes, InCog, and Brown). It's not without misses and misfires but I can honestly say that the Bills are doing a much better job than they have in the past. However it still might not lead to the playoffs just yet.
  5. Gordon isn't going to play this year. His troubles are pretty deep, I doubt he is going to take the field. The Browns or whatever team that trades for him would be lucky to see him take the field next year. If Gordon was healthy and over his drug issues I think he would be a great talent to trade for at the right price. But it seems like before he went to rehab the Browns were looking to get a high draft pick for him. Even after Sammy's injury I wouldn't give up more than a 4th rounder for him, sounds like the Browns wanted a better return on investment. Sad for the Browns since they could have a great WR core with Gordon, Coleman, and Pryor.
  6. People laud the Zach Brown signing now as they should but Brown was a former 2nd round pick (52nd overall a fairly high draft pick) who was viewed as a bust by the Titans and signed a fairly low 1 year 2.5 million deal (Clearly not much of a market for him in the off-season.) Brown was valued as a role player (Coverage linebacker) who could add some depth to the team. Sometimes reclamation projects work out or guys step up above what they were expected to be. Not saying this move will work out for the Pats* but it's a chance worth taking.
  7. I hate Steven A Smith he helped to turn ESPN into Fox News Sports. The fact that he hates Rex makes me want to root for Rex that much more now. Kellerman is one of the best commentators out there if you can get past his smarmy demeanor and compare the two. Kellerman breaks down the Bills 4 games into a passively optimistic breakdown and states that you have to look at the 4 games as a whole. He gave numbers and information on the Bills defense and Ryan's career as a coach he didn't over pump the Bills, he simply said the defense looks to be a good unit and that the team is playing for their coach. The more the Bills win the more it pisses off Stephen A Smith, that is a win win.
  8. Dareus could be huge but Shaq I wouldn't count on as being a major addition. Granted I think Shaq can and will fit into the rotation nicely but I wouldn't expect him to get starter level snaps until the last weeks of the season in the more optimistic scenario. I tend to think of Shaq's role as being a role player Shaq can add a good rotation player to a unit that is over achieving which might be something the team needs down the stretch. The defense has looked good but hopefully they continue to be good because I suspect the offense will still struggle at times. Shaq can easily come in and be a situational player. The OLB unit outside of Hughes has been over achieving as a whole, so adding someone who could give you a shot in the arm even just as a 30 snaps a game player could be a nice addition. I doubt he takes heavy snaps at all this season but just getting him out there as a rotation player could help him as a player and help the defense.
  9. Exactly low risk high reward. There is a reason he was drafted high and the Browns are where good players don't always flourish and the Pats* get the most out of everyone most times. Granted he could suck, let's not pretend that every player the Pats* try to resurrect always does well. For every Dion Lewis or Randy Moss there is a Albert Haynesworth or Chad Ochocinco. But with a low cost move such as this you really only waste a 7th round selection and some playing time. But the payoff is so much greater.
  10. Rams defense was never in question, their offense is not very good only time they put on a good preformance was against a Bucs defense that may be the worst in the league. I think the Rams have in recent years done surprisingly well against the Seahawks which explains that, they beat a bad Bucs team and it looks like the Cardinals aren't as good as everyone thought. You can't really tell how good either the Bills (Who beat the same Cards team, lost a close game against a decent Baltimore team, got blownout against the Jets, and beat the Pats* away sans Brady and Jimmy G.) This Rams game is a game the Bills win if they are a playoff team. It will be a slobber knocker away which won't be easy. The Rams have a stellar defense which won't be easy to play against and their offense has a very good running back but the offense of the Rams isn't very good. Turnovers and one or two big plays will likely decide the fate of the game.
  11. A hardcore Titans fan told me Zach Brown sucks, he seems very knowledgeable about football but I am now seriously questioning his knowledge. Even advanced metrics and other analysis said how he was a good coverage linebacker who struggled against the run. Seemed like he was a good depth signing at worst but now he has taken over the starting job and is crushing it.
  12. Pats* lost with their third string QB playing his second game. It's a bigger win for the Bills than it is a loss for the Pats*. The Pats* are probably ecstatic that they are 3-1 and Brady is coming back after a month off from suspension. It sucks to lose a game that you probably had a shot at winning with Jimmy G in and a game that would have been completely different with Brady in it but the circumstances are the circumstances and you lost in a decisive manner. Overall the Pats* season is right on track and the Bills have survived a stretch of time where they could have easily been 0-4. The Bills have to focus on making some real headway with a softer part of their schedule ahead of them. The Bills with Dareus returning and Shaq Lawson's return upcoming they need to win the next 3 games before going into the next Pats* game. @Rams, Home for the 49ers, and @ Fins are all games the Bills can win and if they are a playoff game they should be able to win those 3. Even winning 2 out of 3 sets the Bills to 4-3 with the Pats* with Brady coming in. 4-4 wouldn't be the end of the world but then you are looking at back to back tough games away at Seattle and at Cincy.
  13. I doubt Sammy will be brought back from IR even with 8 weeks of rest I doubt he could come back and be effective. It would take him some time to get back into shape and 8 weeks rest might not be enough either. Listenbee could be brought back from the PUP without it counting as a IR player. If you have 4 players on the PUP list you can bring back up to 4 players.
  14. This is a devastating blow, Sammy was the number 1 guy and there isn't much else without him there (Woods and Clay are nice secondary options, Shady only prime time offensive threat out there). Even if he came back in 8 weeks I doubt the team could keeps its head above water without him till then. I wish the NFL had a injured reserve that worked more like the MLB's disabled list. I wish you could put a few players on a 4, 6, 8, and long term IR (more than 8 weeks). It is so stupid that your only three options for injured reserve are 1- Take up a roster spot 2- Out for the season 3- Out for 8 weeks minimum. Of which the third option you can only use once.
  15. The fact that he has been staying on the field and playing pretty well is a good sign. I think his 3rd ranking is a bit overrated based off the fact that Miami is doing horribly against the run through 3 games.
  16. Who cares? Rex has always shown bravado and his teams respond to it. Other teams are always motivated to play and this wasn't even that incendiary where it would really be for good locker room posting.
  17. Too early to tell, wish Dareus was in this game could use him to stuff the run and collapse the pocket. But the injury situations from both teams should be a huge factor in this game. I honestly couldn't pick this game with a spread if my life depended on it. I would probably put down for the Pats* but I have no clue.
  18. The NFL is as popular as it has ever been but I think the slight dip in ratings can be attributed to Goodell's horrible handling of the leagues affairs, bad Monday Night Football Matchups (As well as last nights debates), and The Anthem protests have all chipped away at the NFL's image which is likely turning away casual fans that make the difference between 19 million and 22 million people.
  19. Pretty much anything on that night football or wrestling is going to sink to an uber low rating against something that is drawing 81 million viewers on average.
  20. Rex got a lot out of a depleted 2013 Jets team that went 8-8 despite having a lot of talent depart and being hit hard by injuries. Rex's teams tend to play pretty hard for him. Only the last year as the Jets did the team really seem to collapse on him. I am not sure if he is the answer but I think he isn't as bad as many think. His teams commit a lot of penalties but they play hard and are well coached defensively. If The Bills can pull an upset over the Pats* and get to 2-2 they will have survived the first quarter of the season and set themselves up to finish the year strong. Dareus and Shaq Lawson will come back to the defense and Glenn and others will also be back on offense and at 2-2 they would have weathered the storm. Even if they lose to the Pats* but beat the Rams they will be at 2-3 facing a couple of winable games home for the 49ers and away at the Fins before a home Pats* games in which Brady will likely be playing. This Pats* game is huge, Rex traditionally has played well defensively against the Pats* system. I am hoping that without Brady there Rex can really poke holes at the system which he has had a solid track record against.
  21. Good sign considering they don't have Dareus and their 1st round pick a player designed to help their pass rush hasn't been able to take the field. Rex's defenses in New York never had a prime time sack guy (Hughes probably being one of if not the best pass rusher a Ryan Head Coached team has had) but the Jets most years were still able to generate a good pass rush by committee. Hopefully once Dareus is plugged in and Shaq is added the pass rush takes another step up.
  22. Week to week people panic or get overly excited because each game is 6.25% of the season. Not realizing that it is still only 1 occurrence and things are so context dependent. The Bills salvaged their season and came up big to avoid the dreaded 0-3 start. They lost week 1 close and then looked bad week 2 (A week in which they had some big plays to give them a lead in the 2nd half), week 3 they looked good. The only thing you can really say about them is we have no clue how good or bad they are. 1 more week and Dareus comes back which is huge for the defense, Shaq could also be a shot in the arm for the second half of the season too. Offensively the team needs more but if they can run the ball and get some big plays while having some consistency in moving the chains (The offense can't keep leaving the defense out to dry with 3 and outs) then the team has a chance.
  23. Kujo looks like an NFL level player the past couple of weeks. Didn't have the strongest game out there week 3 but he looked like he belonged. I think that is a good sign considering how lost he looked his first couple of years. He definitely has proven he deserves a roster spot, only question is when Glenn gets back is he just a back up with potential, or is he a starter at either tackle position?
  24. Now owners of a team aren't the same as they where 50 years ago. The owners make money doing other things and then get into sports as a novelty. Back 50 years ago the owners main source of money was the team, so it was more likely an owner would be closer to the product and more capable of running a team. But today someone who runs a tech company or another business and makes enough money to buy a NFL team isn't going to have the understanding of the game to run an NFL operation. I think you have to know enough to know that you don't know enough. Of course big decision are the owners to make but running the ins and outs of an organization shouldn't be done by a guy who was running a completely different industry for the previous 30 years of his life.
  25. If Sammy is injured long term I would actually consider taking a chance on Gordon. Gordon is a legit number 1 receiver and without Sammy being a number 1 the offense crumbles even more. So maybe to save the season you throw a late round pick to try and salvage the season with Gordon.
