  1. The problem is cutting Gurley only frees up about 5 million for them. That's not insignificant but it is 12 million they are eating that could have gone elsewhere to sure up their depth or retain a better player. I could easily see the Rams winning 6-8 games the next two years while they try and handle adjusting their roster around that Goff contract.
  2. Hughes should sustain his level of play but I think that you have to factor in that it is possible some of these older players might decline when assessing 2019 vs. 2020.
  3. The Gurley contract is the bigger killer. If they didn't have that kind of money committed to him it would at least give them some flexibility to spread that 17 million around to 3 or 4 different players and add some depth to their roster. But Goff is still not helping that roster very much at all sitting on a 36 million dollar cap hit while they pay a DT 25 million and a WR/RB combo 34 million (Gurley and Cooks.)
  4. That Rams roster is a mess. The top 10 cap hits on that roster add up to nearly 72% of their cap (compare that to the Bills whose top 10 contracts add up to 42% of the cap) even if you take off Goff that roster's top 9 still eat up 55% of their cap (which is still pretty bad for just 9 contracts.) That along with the team being low on draft picks (no first this year and next year along with missing some other late round picks) is probably going to lead them to be pretty mediocre unless they can unload Gurley and possibly Cooks. They really should have avoided paying Goff for as long as possible and not extended Gurley. Cooks at least is a positive player. Not having Goff and Gurley on massive deals would have given them the chance to sustain winning a lot longer.
  5. The question you are asking is, are Jefferson, Butler, and Addison better than Phillips and Shaq? I think so, Addison is a better pass rusher than Shaq and the Butler/Jefferson combo is better than Phillips or at the very least a push. I also think that Ed Oliver improves dramatically even if it is possible Hughes has some regression. I would still like to see Edge drafted in round 2 or 3 just to get a bit younger along the D-line.
  6. This team still needs to add a WR early in the draft and the TE situation is a bit shaky but I don't see them making a run for a vet TE given the Kroft extension and the faith they have in Knox. The offense needs to add a short yardage bruiser back and a WR for depth (given Brown's shaky injury history and the need to get younger behind Beasley, Brown and Diggs WR is still a need.) The offensive line also could use a depth player just to sure up things too. But right now in my opinion the major depth needs are for a role player bruising back and a WR behind the starting trio.
  7. Butler is coming off his best season and the Bills did not pay him a big multiple year deal (it's essentially a one year deal with an option for a second season as year two is only one million in dead cap if cut in 2021) so I look at it as more so trying to tap the potential he flashes at times. I don't hate the deal as Butler is going to be a rotational DT a role that might tap into his ability.
  8. Am I missing something or is Singletary not the lead back? The team shouldn't waste picks trading up for a back/role player need like RB. This team could use a corner or an edge rusher or even a WR much more than they need someone to take short yardage roles. Even a O-line pick is better. I am all for taking a RB in round 3 or 4 but not in round 2.
  9. Gronk is joining WWE and I think the team is fine with Knox and Kroft for some reason. I just don't see Gronk being able to stay healthy for a full season either. But I think that unless a golden opportunity like Clowney on a one year deal presents its self that the Bills are done with big moves.
  10. You have to ask yourself what are the biggest possible weaknesses on this team and what move would address that weakness and turn it into a strength? If I am analyzing this team I see three pressing needs. Edge rusher, Tight End, and Corner. I know a lot of people would say RT but I am a believer in Ford and Ty is a nice plan B. I don't see a tight end remaining on the free agency market that makes us dynamic at that position. I don't see a corner (esp with Harris just off the market) that makes that unit that much better. But Edge rusher? I see some potential there to add a game changing talent. Clowney on a one year 25 million dollar contract screams the type of smart "All In" move that I would make. One year deal does kill the roll over into 2021 (although you could cut Murphy to help ease it) but it doesn't kill the flexibility the team has overall beyond 2020 and really wouldn't impact too much the team's ability to extend Dawkins, White, and Milano. Clowney is a dominating run defender who commands attention off the edge. You could draft a corner in round 2 to fill that last possible need and a safety for depth in round 5 and be completely set in the secondary while taking a depth WR and RB in rounds 3 and 4. I don't want to commit a long term deal anywhere close to 20 million for him. But if he doesn't like his offers and wants a 1 year deal worth 6-8 million more than his current offers by all means be a mercenary and get this team into serious contention.
  11. Watch the Venture Brothers, thank me later.
  12. I think it also is the fallacy of the pre-determined outcome. Harris took 10 million aav to play in LA, maybe it costs him 12 million to come play in Buffalo? Maybe he really just wanted to play in a warmer place after all those years in Denver? The Bills are a much more attractive FA destination than they were in the past because they now have the rep as being a winning team that is well run. However sometimes it isn't as simple as if we offered him X he would have came. Move onto the next target or simply draft a corner.
  13. 2019 was a contract year for him however. But the contract the Bills have him on is essentially a prove it type deal since the guarantee on year two is so low.
  14. Only 4 million more needed for rookies due to the Diggs trade. The money is there if they need it. I would peg Gordon for a 3 year 24 million dollar deal, 12 guaranteed. Take it or leave it.
  15. This (The Democrats) is their (The Democrats) new hoax? Who is the "This" in the sentence?
  16. I think you aren't obviously going to recoup the trillions in stimulus spending that is going to take to get the economies of nations impacted back from the edge of depression. However China should be writing off hundreds of billions in debt they bought throughout the years from various nations impacted. That would be a start. How you collect on that? I would say a good place to start would be economic pressure.
  17. If it is found out that China suppressed their own scientists information about the virus in December then China should pay reparations to other nations or face sanctions. A virus existing is not their fault necessarily but if there was more they could have done then they need to pay.
  18. Still would love to see them either go Edge or WR in round 2. I think that the team needs some depth at WR, Beasley and Diggs have been durable but Brown has had injury issues. Plus they need to get younger behind those three. Edge is also a case of needing to get younger behind capable vets. I also think CB might be a need too so I wouldn't mind seeing them go corner early.
  19. "This (The Virus) is their (The Democrats) new hoax." That's Trump's direct quote about it.
  20. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-calls-coronavirus-democrats-new-hoax-n1145721 Trump is his own words called the corona virus the Democrats new hoax.
  21. They said the same thing about Phillips in Miami. Hopefully McD can break through to him.
  22. I would look at this as a camp body special teams type signing. I don't think this means they are rolling with him as anything else other than a RB4.
  23. Major moves wise? I would guess not. But I thought they were done with major moves last night. So what the ***** do I know. But with Butler and Jefferson added to the D-line on upper mid-level contracts the team is likely done with big moves unless a guy like Clowney is willing to take a one year deal or Chris Harris comes down in price. But I do think that they will make some depth signings. I think Van Rotten or another O-line depth player is likely to happen. I also wouldn't be shocked to see a RB or depth piece in the secondary too.
  24. Tyrod also comes cheaper than all those guys by a wide margin. Tyrod plus 10-15 million in cap space is a better deal than Foles or any of those other guys. I would rather have Tyrod plus spend some more money on the O-line and defense. But yeah LA is going to have to just go with a rookie long term.
