  1. Until the stake is through the heart of the Patriots I will never discount them.
  2. They have Ty to compete with him, this notion they are handing him the position is odd to me. I wouldn't mind seeing a tackle draft in the late to mid rounds for depth/development.
  3. I wouldn't hate it in round 2. I would prefer an Edge player or a WR but Corner is a semi-need.
  4. At some point you have to trust a young player to develop, esp one that improved as the season went on (like Ford in 2019 and Edumonds in 2018.) I think Ford is going to surprise a lot of people on here with how well he plays in 2020. I am personally more concerned about depth at WR and TE along with depth in the secondary along with finding a power RB.
  5. 1 year 22 million fully guaranteed, cut Murphy to ease the cap hit a bit. Go for it with this roster. Draft a corner and a WR and a RB.
  6. I wouldn't say Super Bowl or bust but Division championship and a home playoff win is the minimum for this team. The defense should return as a top 5 unit. The offense is improved and should be at worst middle of the pack. Josh needs to take a step up and McBeane needs to add some quality players via the draft esp on offense and at EDGE. But overall I love what they did in adding a proven WR1 in Diggs while retaining the quality of the defense.
  7. Love this signing. The D-line remains a deep unit. Vernon Butler takes over for Phillips while Addision takes over for Shaq. Jefferson takes over the versatile Lorax role. Draft wise I would love to see Edge drafted in round 2 or 3 just to get a bit younger at that position as outside of Henry and Ed there isn't much youth along the D-line and the edge could use some more suring up. Ideally I would like to see the draft fall to Edge round 2, WR round 3, RB round 4, and secondary depth round 5. I think that would nicely round out the team. Free Agency wise I think they can find some more O-line depth to just round out the offense a bit more.
  8. It might have been early October, either way I think he should be good to go by camp.
  9. I don't see a big signing. Maybe 7 aav is more realistic. But I doubt they are spending 10 million on a DT that will be in rotation.
  10. Would you manufacture all your weapons in China or any other country. The doctor on Rogan put it best when he said that. There is nothing wrong with global trade, we can't go backwards. However supply chains for critical things have to be diversified in a way where if one region is having an issue it doesn't create problems all over the world.
  11. If I had to predict some of the remaining moves the Bills make. 1- They will sign a DT. 2- They will sign a vet RB as is tradition. 3- They will not have a signing that is over 5 million aav. 4- They will sign an offensive linemen for depth purposes. 5- No starting caliber RT will be brought in, they are good with Ford/Ty. 6- They will not sign a pass catcher. 7- Trent Murphy will not be cut.
  12. Big time pass on Melvin Gordon, but yes if they feel there is another big time free agent that they might want to free up some money for I could see them cutting Murphy. But given McD's weird loyalty to vets he signs I wouldn't be on it. They have about 10-20 million to work with while still having enough for rookie deals and 20-30 million in roll over. At this point unless they really want a big fish they will likely just stick with Murphy.
  13. I don't think so. I think he coaches until his body won't let him. I don't see him being happy retired.
  14. Would add excellent depth, love it.
  15. I think Murphy stays and a round 2 or 3 pick is brought on board. They signed Murphy to a big deal and as much as I think he hasn't lived up to it, the deal they signed him to must be a sign that they like him as a player.
  16. Reader got paid just over 13 million per. That's way too much for him. Glad that the Bills didn't go 12 or more million for him. Hopefully the Bills can add one more starting piece via free agency. I feel like without pick 22 their ability to plug holes in the draft is more limited. It would be nice to see if they can just add a piece to plug a hole and go into the draft with one less need.
  17. They have to draft a QB and I don't like either of their options in their draft assuming Joe B is the top pick.
  18. The Fins are spending their warchest huge and they still have 6 premium draft selections to go. But unless they have a coherent plan at QB I don't see exactly where their plan works beyond getting the Fins through 7 or 8 wins.
  19. I don't think the Bills will sign a starting caliber RT. I believe they are fine with Ford/Ty combo as they drafted Ford high and his play improved as the year went on. I think DT or CB is the last significant piece they add.
  20. Pass on Lamar Miller, would have liked Howard. However it isn't a big loss. Draft a RB in round 3 or 4 and I think you are good.
  21. Not true at all esp with how McBeane likes to trade up and finds quality players. However mid-round picks (4th and 5th round) have solid value. Lots of quality role players and starters are found in those rounds. The Texans made a bad trade because their coach is also the GM and didn't get along with Hopkins. Other teams weren't that stupid. The Vikings weren't giving up Diggs for peanuts because the Texans were stupid.
  22. They paid retail for a player they needed. A for need, C for price, B for player quality overall a B. This is still a savvy move Diggs is just 27 in August, is on a contract that is good and easy to get out of after 2021. So he is good in terms of flexibility and filling a need with a proven player in his prime. The cost however was high. I would have much preferred a 2nd and a 4th for him but overall the cost wasn't tragic.
  23. Risky yes? As risky as Watkins? No ***** way. Watkins was a 1st round pick plus a 4th to trade up 5 spots for a WR who never played a down in the NFL. Diggs is trading pick 22 for a prime WR without an injury history on a big but more than fair contract that is easy to get out of after two seasons. There is risk because you could have just drafted a WR at pick 22 and taken that chance. But I say who dares wins and you go for the proven WR while you have a window to win.
  24. Nice little signing by McD, replaces Lorax at OLB and fills a potential hole at OLB/MLB. Love what they are doing this off-season for the most part.
  25. I hope you are right. I actually think that they will try and trade away for as many 2021 picks as possible in the upcoming draft. Number they always seem to try and do that no matter what the next years draft looks like but two they might want at least two additional premium draft choices if they do decide to go for a big time draft piece. BUT I wouldn't put it past Billy B to punt a season away and trade away some key players for draft picks. If they could get a 1st plus other picks for Gilmore I wouldn't put it past them. However in the end I think you are right in that they will attempt to be competitive on some level.
