Factoring out the Titans game (which was a total team loss, the defense gave up 3 TD's on field position of less than 30 yards, the offense didn't score a lot and turned it over.) The bigger issue with this team is defensive consistency. The defense shut down the Jets (as they should) but had a bit of mixed games against the Dolphins and Raiders and then had a horrid game against the Rams. Once again factoring out the Titans game the defense has been fairly mid-level. The offense even with a lackluster TE group has been good, putting up enough points in all of their games. Overall I would say that if there is a big piece to be added via trade I would think it is going to be on the defensive side of the ball. I think for a guy like Knox who has shown flashes of great potential but has a lot of raw growing pains you probably are looking at a three year process. Knox to me should be getting split snaps with Kroft this year and then year three is make or break for him. But in regards to 2020 the pass catching group isn't an issue. They have 4 legit WR's so there isn't a need for Knox/Kroft to be anything more than complementary targets (which I think they are.) The big addition this team needs will likely come on the defensive side.

Hughes in 2019 was good, he was solid against the run and a physical player off the edge getting pressure. He also was the heart and soul of the front 7. But in 2020 he has been fairly invisible. I think maybe age has just gotten ahead of him.

After a loss I definitely avoid the forum day of the game and day after. This forum follows the following pattern after a loss. Day of Game - Everyone needs to be fired, there are no good players on this team, why even bother playing the rest of the season this team should just forfeit the rest of the season? Day After Game - Everything still sucks, this team isn't going anywhere, maybe we should just rebuild? Two Days After the Game - Most things suck but things start to stabilize even if the overall tone of the board is still more negative than it needs to be. Three Days After the Game - Things finally fully stabilize and the proper perspective is given to the game. So I avoid this board day of and day after losses especially bad losses. I can handle the two days later pessimism but things get really ridiculous right after and the day after.

You are correct, he is signing a deal for the rest of the season and hoping to rebuild his value to get a better deal in 2021.

Hoping Mongo can help there, he was a beast run blocker last year. Other than that I think there isn't much out there. O-line is good at pass pro but isn't really mauling in the ground game. Mongo might be able to help a bit.

Was Spain playing poorly? I think LG might be Ford's best position but then why not flex out Spain to RG? From my eye test I am much more impressed with what Spain has done than what Winters has done. Then again with how this team likes to rotate O-line players it might make sense to have Spain just play a bunch of snaps at both.

Tonight's game is massively important. 5-0 is a nice start but winning tonight would also put the Bills in position to be in a commanding lead for the number one seed (and now the only bye.) If the Bills can beat the Titans they can go into that KC game with a one game lead over all 3 other division leaders and the chance to take a 2 game lead over KC and the tiebreaker over both KC and the Titans. Going 6-0 would put the Bills in a massive position to take the bye with a one game lead over Baltimore (or two games if they were to lose next week) for the one seed and 2 games over KC. But none of that can happen if they don't take care of the Titans tonight. So fatten up get to 5-0 against the Covids.

His numbers aren't huge but he does add something to the offense when he is on the field. He adds one more down the field option that can hurt you if you key off him. His absence could be noticeable.

From 2001-2017 Tyrod was by far the best QB the Bills had and arguably the best they had since Jim Kelly by 2017. Yes for half a season Bledsoe might have had better peak value but he stunk it up the rest of the years he was here. Now that probably says more about the Bills QB position than it does about Tyrod but still Tyrod deserves more love than he gets for what he was able to do. Had Rex and some key injuries in the secondary not ***** a top 5 defense Tyrod would have easily broken the drought in 2015. Tyrod was basically a game manager plus. He could manage a game and make plays with his legs and on his best days he could hurt you down the field a handful of times. Truthfully if he was able to consistently get the ball downfield like he could do sometimes he would have been a consistent winner in the league. But sadly in too many games he was so much more cautious than he should have been. I think fans fell in love with Fitz because the team had fairly low expectation when he was here and the fact that his story and personality appealed to fans.

That's a solid point. However keeping it to the "modern" NFL only (Just for sake of argument post 2000, as that's around the time the league really started to shift away from running) I think that the Eagles with Foles got lucky that there was another QB in the league that they knew functioned well in their system AND was available for dirt cheap after flaming out other places. The Eagles have a system (and O-line up until the past 2 years) that makes any QB look a lot better for 2 decades now. As much as I like what Daboll has grown into and what the Bills are building I am not so sure the offense's success is due to a system that can plug in any QB and make it better. The offense has a lot of talent but I am not so sure that the offense is a system that is so overtly friendly to QB's. So I think the Foles example is one where a lot of fluky circumstances came together as opposed to something that is repeatable. I am not opposed to the idea of upgrading the backup QB position. But is it worth a lot of cap space (Let's say 7-10 million?) I think Andy Dalton is one of the best backup QB's going into the season but if let's say he was the Bills backup and Josh got hurt is Dalton taking the Bills beyond the divisional round? If Josh went down for 4 games I think this team could go 2-2 with Barkley easily. That's kind of the best you can hope for from a backup QB at this point. I think they hope they can develop Fromm into that stellar backup.

I think the Bills are fine with Barkely, honestly even if the Bills had a "good" backup QB any long term injury to Josh ***** the season no matter what.

The Bills shut down Jacobs last week for the most part. Henry is a different beast all together. Hopefully the Bills can limit him and not let him grind the ball 25 plus times for 125 or more yards.

Trump is basically George W Bush's policy agenda (tax cuts, deregulation, climate change denial, drill baby drill, neo-conservative foreign policy and literally the same immigration plan and literally 90% of his polices are the Bush policies or very similar) dressed up with a deranged lunatic Tweeting. 1- Antifa isn't a formal organization and BLM as a group has gone far away from their initial message. Neither idea nor group is more a part of the mainstream Democratic party than the Proud Boys or other far right extremist groups are part of the formal mainstream Republican party. Yes while I am sure you can find some Democratic politicians who might have good things to say or some sort of association with either BLM or Antifa they aren't part of the mainstream of the party. As I similarly said I am sure you can find people in the GOP who have affiliations with far right extremist groups that doesn't mean that those groups are carrying any weight in the party. 2- Biden's climate plan is far from the Green New Deal. It is a 30 year plan to get America carbon neutral, it phases out coal (which is antiquated) and other forms of fossil fuel in favor of nuclear and renewable energy. The way you are phrasing the question is like you think Biden is going to come in and in two years he is going to shut down all energy production. His plan is a sensible phased in plan that basically shifts away new energy investment more heavily towards renewables vs. keep throwing money at fossil fuels. The economy could really use the Green Energy jobs that the plan provides. 3- I assume that the US like most countries (Japan has already begun to do this) is going to shift pharmaceutical production and medical equipment production back home, this will happen regardless of who wins the election as I think this will be heavily mandated by the public, the military and various other industries that the Congress actually listens to. Similarly to how weapons are made in the US because it is a national security issue medical supplies and PPE will be subsidized to be made in the US. As far as free trade with China in general I assume Biden will keep the status quo. However keep in mind that Trump's ideal trade policy with China isn't protectionist, Trump's ideal trade policy is both nations having completely free trade. So if you think Trump is going to try and put up trade barriers to China then you are completely wrong he wants to remove all of them. 4- Biden has stated that he wouldn't raise taxes on any family making less than 400k. I generally believe this because when Obama rolled back the Bush tax cuts he did so only for the top bracket, the middle and upper middle class brackets had their tax cuts stay. The Trump tax bill hasn't really put much money back into the middle class. The tax cuts removal of SALT and other deductions that are used by middle class people mitigated the actual money received by those making middle class wages. Generally speaking if you make under 400k I really don't see Biden raising taxes. Even Bernie Sanders who had a much larger vision only raised taxes to fund universal healthcare (which was basically replacing private taxes aka premiums, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance and out of pocket costs with a small increase to people's taxes and a payroll tax paid for by the employer who wouldn't have to pay for employees insurance premiums.) The Democrats main stream wing would be considered a conservative party in any other first world nation. Angela Merkel in Germany for example is considered a center right leader. The mainstream Dems prefer more gradual changes and tweaks to the system as opposed to the GOP whose platform just seems to be either everything is fine or cut taxes and regulations no matter what.

I wanted the Bills to take Ford early in round 2, however once DK started to fall deep into the second around pick 55ish I really wanted the Bills to trade back into round 2 for him. He had a big injury history but he was/is a freak talent worth a late second round pick. By the time it was pick 60 I was really angry the Bills weren't making the move. By around pick 60 the Bills only had to trade up 14 spots from pick 74. I thought the Bills could have traded pick 112 and 74 to get him around pick 60. It would have been a great moment to build both sides of the trenches with Oliver and Ford while adding a weapon for Josh. It ended up being Singletary at pick 74 which seems to be working out. Ford is going to be a solid to pro-bowl guard for many years to come. Stop complaining.

The NFL needed to have a league wide bye week in the middle and at the end of the season. It would have allowed for up to 3 games per team to be rescheduled into those weeks and the individual team's bye. I think that it might just be easier for them to forfeit these two games and try to make it against their opponent in week 6.

Players on 1-7 and 2-6 teams are still playing for their careers and I doubt they want to take a 5 or 6 figure fine and risk possible long term damage a Covid infection might come with. It's more so the organization who needs to be steeply punished in a way that makes it so punitive that it isn't worth any risk to be careless. A massive fine and docking a 1st round pick seems kind of lite in my opinion. I don't know if forfeiting the games is a good idea but something more than money and draft picks needs to be involved.

I also think the NFL is going to smooth out the cap decrease so that the cap isn't crunched and then rapidly increased. I think they will take some money from 2022 and 2023 and apply it to 2021. I think there will either be a small decrease or a flat cap in 2021 but the increases to the cap that were projected in 2022 and 2023 are unlikely to manifest themselves as much.

Who gets what draft picks? Does one team get a 2nd while the other team gets a third? There isn't a fully equitable solution. I think the NFL docks the Titans their 1st and 3rd round picks in 2021 and a 2nd in 2022. But I don't see them awarding it to other teams.

An NFL bubble would have to be regional sequestering 4-8 teams and then shifting them around. Basketball and Hockey were easier to do, less players and less staff and just the post season (thus they could have cut out several teams.) Football would likely be able to do something like that for the playoffs.

The NFL should delay the start of the playoffs two weeks to add in a week 18 and 19 if needed (playoffs could be moved up a week if no week 19 is needed.) The injury bug has hit the NFL hard and it might benefit everyone to have a week or two off before the playoffs anyway. Overall the NFL bungled the season by not having it be 19 weeks with 2 league wide bye weeks baked in. They could have used those league wide bye weeks to reschedule any Covid games.
