  1. I wouldn't want to see the Ravens. Tough defense and Lamar can be very dynamic with his legs to the point where he can carry that rather bad supporting cast to a decent effort. Also Tucker can rain field goals which in a close playoff game could be the difference. Miami to me is the best matchup in my opinion. I think Miami's defense is good but not great. I also think that Miami would be the worst rushing offense the team could see in the playoffs and I still have concerns about the rushing defense against a better rushing attack. I wish there was still two bye weeks as it would be realistic to get a two seed and a bye. But this is the world we live in. Colts have a very good defense and a rushing attack that could be a problem. I would rather see Miami whose QB isn't that much more mobile and they don't quite that a potent rushing attack.
  2. John Brown is such a big component to what this team needs on offense, with him out there the offense becomes super dynamic. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back against the Pats if he needs more time give it to him.
  3. Looking at the AFC and I do say that the Bills (esp at home) can beat any team in the field. KC presents the big gorilla in the room as they would be favored and likely home. But I do think that the Bills do have some hard outs in the first two rounds. The Browns, Titans and Indy all present tough matchups as they can all run the ball, have competent QB's and play good defense. The Fins have a tough defense but given their offensive limitations I feel they could be the best first round matchup. I think given that KC will have the bye, the Steelers are likely to win their division and the Titans are in position to win their division. The likely matchups for the Bills at a possible 3/4 seed are Cleveland, Miami or Indy. Out of those three I would probably prefer Miami and least like to see the Browns.
  4. My main concern for the offense in 2021 and beyond is will Daboll leave and can they keep the O-line together. I think they can easily retain Mongo at a similar contract to what they paid Spain but maybe with more guaranteed. But D.Williams has been a complete revelation at RT and is going to command top money. An O-line franchise tag is 14 million, might it be worth it to keep Williams in the fold to work out a longer term deal? If they can keep Daboll for one more year and retain Mongo and D.Williams then I think they will be just fine. I think they can easily resign Ty for one more year, draft an O-line in round 5 or 6 to be a depth project, let Ike or Ford battle it out for the LG spot, have Bates back as the swiss army knife depth and find another vet guard like Winters to keep the O-line deep. I would be fine with mostly spending the cap dollars on offense resigning the O-line players and maybe adding a vet TE (I think you can resign Levi Wallace and Milano to reasonable deals) and then using the draft to fill any remaining defensive holes and depth needs.
  5. Miami has a solid pass rush (averaging 2.6 sacks per game which is 11th in the league, a quality secondary but they can get run on as they are giving up 120 yards a game on the ground (for reference the Bills give up 119.) They are third in the NFL in points allowed (the Bills are 15th) which does indicate they have a strong defense. However I do think that while they are a very good defense I don't consider them to be this top 3-4 defense in the league. I think their defense is in the top 10 but I think they have feasted on a lot of bad offenses. The only quality offense they shut down was the Rams, who are really good so not taking that away from them but that's about all they have to show for it. The teams in a winning effort that they gave up less than 21 points to are the Jets twice, The Jaguars, a banged up 49ers team, The Chargers, The Bengals without Burrow, and the Rams. Not exactly a murders row outside of the Rams. Denver's D is underrated and while I agree with your assessment of Drew Lock he still is capable of putting up a big game and playing well. This is also an away game and playing in Denver is never easy. I favor the Bills in this game but this one is a trickier game than some expect.
  6. The Broncos have been playing better as of late in their past four games, they are not an easy out. In the past four games they beat the Dolphins who were red hot at the time, lost in a blowout to the Saints but they were literally without a QB, took the Chiefs to a one possession game and beat the Panthers. The Bills desperately need to take care of the division this week because I don't want this to come down to beating New England. I think ideally the Bills seal up the division and keep themselves in the running for the two seed.
  7. To be fair to the Browns and Baker they have played in some horrible weather conditions and they have an amazing pair of RB's and they lost their best WR. I think if they needed to throw more Baker's numbers would be better. But they are playing the football that best plays to the strengths of their team.
  8. I think he is enough of an athlete at a position that isn't very strong that he will hang around the league for a few years. But I do hold out hope that he will pan out. He has these great flashes but just can't put it together consistently.
  9. The defense really crushed it against a solid offense. Love to see it, now have to worry about locking up the division.
  10. It is awesome to see this game going this way. After a shaky first half mostly complete domination.
  11. The 4 minute offense was shaky to start this drive but now they have just completely grinded down this game down and it's shut the door on the Steelers and put the Bills in field goal range.
  12. I agree but I see the logic of not just giving up on scoring a TD that can put you up two TD's as opposed to a TD and a field goal.
  13. Given that the first running play lost 4 yards i don't blame them for trying to score via passing
  14. Just an ugly half here. The offense needs a complete reset of their play calling. Defense has been very good. Hopefully the defense can hold this.
  15. KC went from down 10 to up 18, insane how Miami just completely dropped here.
  16. KC settled down the game a lot, now that it is back to one posession they can go back to a more balanced attack. Miami has been impressive thus far but we will see if they can awnser.
  17. I would say the Pittsburgh game last year was bigger. To clinch a spot and put the Bills in position to win the division (the week after was a game against the Pats) was probably the bigger game.
  18. This game should be interesting. I think we will see just how good the Dolphins defense is. The Fins defense has mostly fed off of some bad offenses. The Fins gave up 31 to the Bills, Seahawks and Cardinals. The only good offense they put a clinic on was the Rams. The rest of their stellar defensive performances came against the Jets twice, Bengals without Burrow, Jags, a banged up 49ers, and the Chargers. They also held the Broncos and Pats to 21 in losing efforts. Not exactly a murders row of offenses. KC being the leagues best should easily be their biggest test.
  19. 4 games left in the regular season plenty will change but as of now the temperature check is that the Bills are the toughest matchup for KC. Right now the Bills just need to focus on winning the division. Get that round 1 playoff game and worry about the rest later.
  20. We will see if the pocket QB is a thing of the past or not. Mahomes mostly works out of the pocket. He runs not that often (has never had more than 300 rush yards in a season) and mostly uses his mobility to throw. The last few Super Bowl's before last year were mostly match ups featuring pocket passers. Brady vs Geoff Brady vs Foles Brady vs Matt Ryan Manning vs Cam Brady vs Wilson Manning vs Wilson Flacco vs Kap Eli Manning vs Brady That's 12 QB's not known for their mobility vs 4 that are. Even the 49ers last year made it to the Big Game with Jimmy G not exactly a mobile QB. So we will wait and see if the pocket passer is dead.
  21. Every GM makes many mistakes or has missed opportunities. GM's make dozens of decisions and choices every off season. Several are bound to not work as intended. Beane however has had significantly more good and positive moves than negative ones. He deserves to see the next few seasons to see if he can take this team over the hump. That 30 million number is really only if the cap is set at the floor of 175 million. I think the cap will be above 190 million as they likely borrow from future cap increases to avoid having such a steep cut to the cap. So I expect that final cap space number to be in the 45 to 50 million range after all cuts and restructuring is done. They should give the front office enough money to resign Mongo, D.Williams and Milano (likely to a one year prove it deal.) And have a little bit of money left over to add a starter elsewhere to the defense. Then use the draft to get younger at critical positions on the defense (i could see the first three picks being at DE, CB and safety.) Smart to simply retain offensive talent and add some youth to a defense that could be aging soon.
  22. I think it is a greater than 70% chance KC wins, but Miami has a tough defense so they have a punchers chance. I think Colts over Raiders is a nice one to have too as it would help push the Bills into sealing a playoff spot in a year where home field means less and there is only one bye just getting in the tournament is big.
  23. The Rams beat the Pats so one for one this week. The big one to watch in my opinion is KC vs Miami, Miami has to lose this one. The Bills need to at the very least maintain a 1 game lead with a tie breaker in the back 3. KC winning gives that to the Bills at a minimum.
  24. He is rated properly. I do think that several years ago he was a bit underrated but the past two seasons in my opinion have him as a properly respected coach. I personally have him as one of the elite coaches in the league and I think most analysts and fans do too. He got the Steelers to 8 wins last year with a third string QB and this year he has gotten them back to 11+ wins despite injuries and offensive talent issues. Tomlin will have the Steelers ready to play and I would be shocked if this game isn't a one posession game late.
  25. Also why not opt out if you are a veteran player? Why put your body through the grind and expose yourself to Covid an illness that could infect a loved one and put your long term health at risk (as we don't know the long term complications for those who live.) You can literally roll over your contract for another season and rest your body. For a lot of these veteran players an opt out of this crazy season makes sense especially if you are on a team that isn't likely to go anywhere.
