  1. Also squibbing the kick and giving up worse field position (Let's say starting at the 38 yard line) also makes it so that they can get into field goal position possibly in one play and thus slimming the advantage. You can arrange it anyway you want in your head. What the Bills did wasn't the right move because it didn't work out.
  2. McD turned around this organziation. He is our guy, yes there were mistakes made towards the end of the KC game but do not throw the baby out with the bath water.
  3. I think he still has some things he needs to "iron out" of course at this point it is mostly super small stuff but I think Josh will have to work on the regular season version of himself. Running less so he can unleash the "playoff 2021 Josh" on the league consistently for years to come. That means less "hero ball" in the regular season and more taking what the defense gives him on a consistent basis.
  4. If you are guaranteed a Super Bowl then yes you go with the one Super Bowl but if your choice is a 50% shot at a Super Bowl one season and then plummeting your odds for the next 9 years or a 25% shot to win each year for the next 5 years which one are you taking? Right now I think the Bills are approaching it as though the playoffs are a complete crap shoot and you are best off trying to get as many opportunities to come out on top as opposed to betting hard on a short term run. I think the Bills right now are best to bet on their own drafting and player development and not make too many splashy moves that may cripple the team long term and not have the desired impact short term anyway. ESPN+ is fantastic for hockey, esp for an out of market fan. The rest on ESPN+ is mostly filler but the amount of hockey games you get with it is a great value.
  5. Considering that a surprise onside kick has a better recovery rate than a "standard" one it isn't a bad idea. It makes it an even better idea for a defense like the Bills that was mostly hoping to stop them in the redzone as opposed to a full field defense at that point. If you are giving up chunk yards in your opponents territory giving them the ball at the 45ish yard line isn't that much of a deal breaker.
  6. I think the Bills aren't going "big name" shopping in free agency, it doesn't fit their mold of sustainable winning. Right now I think they release Beasley and Mongo while restructuring Josh, Diggs, Tre, Hyde, D.Williams, Star, Dawkins and Milano. By releasing those two players and converting all that base salary to bonus money you have the Bills at about 41 million with 51 guys signed. That's about 25ish million to work with after taking into account the draft pool and the in season emergency fund. Now that's without resigning Phillips, Levi, Hughes, Mac, Bates (who is an RFA), Obada, Addision or T.Jones (there are other free agents but none I consider of value and I don't think Trubisky is resigning.) So assuming they resign Phillips, Levi, Bates, Hughes or Addision, T Jones and Mac you are likely eating up a lot of that 25 million. At best you might be left with 5ish million or so which might help sign a vet depth player or two nothing splashy. But I think keeping most of the team together and having the chance to add a depth piece or two before entering into the draft is a great position to be in. IF the team cuts Mongo, Beasley and makes those resignings I would like to see the team go BPA straight across the board in the draft and build a long term winner.
  7. In that scenario both offenses get a chance. One has the opportunity to score first the other has a chance to answer with a TD and win with a two point conversion.
  8. I saw an interesting proposal for playoff OT, same rules except for the team that wins the coin toss they have to kick an extra point the other team then gets possession and if they score a TD they have to go for 2 points to try and win or lose if they miss. It adds more strategy to take the kick or not but still allows both teams to possess the ball.
  9. Not ruling out Tampa Bay just yet in this game. So much time left but the Bucs are having some issues with that Rams D-line. If the Rams can continue to make Brady uncomfortable by winning the line of scrimmage then they will be facing a really hard time trying to keep up with a Rams offense that is rolling.
  10. This was a odd playoff field. The Titans were an over seeded team and the Packers ran into bad weather and choked. Last year the 1 seed in the AFC made the Super Bowl and the 1 seed in the NFC went to the Conference title game. More often than not the bye teams will likely be doing well.
  11. Bojo didn't cost the Packers the game the person blocking the guy who blocked the punt did. But to be honest it shouldn't have even come down to that for the Packers they chocked plain and simple. Haack is an elite holder at least haha
  12. If they did then it was money well spent.
  13. Ebay and other companies that allow people to sell stuff do this but ***** Ticketmaster none the less.
  14. It feels nice as a fan to say "just live in the now" and not have to hope the team might be better in the future. I definitely don't miss the days when I would make a 10 point plan to get the team "fixed" in one single off-season.
  15. It has to be something else. I don't think you can logically make a case that one down year on defense is reason to can a coordinator. It's not even his worst season with this defense (in 2015 the Raven's were 24th in defense compared to 19th this season). It has to be some sort of professional disagreement with the organization.
  16. I wouldn't be shocked if the Bills spend a fairly high draft pick at WR and let Sanders and Beasley walk. I think that the front office might view Sanders as a one and done while Beasley as a cap casualty. I think they resign Mac and add a WR drafted in the first two rounds to the mix as short term depth and longer term insurance.
  17. I am not a huge college fan either but from what I have been reading about the draft is that the QB's in this year's draft aren't very good. For the most part they are comparing the QB class more to the Daniel Jones/Haskins class instead of recent more star studded QB classes. Of course teams will over draft and QB's shoot up the board but I think given that Jones hasn't really had a decent chance for success they will stick with him for one last season and just see what they have fully and then go after a QB in 2023.
  18. I think this is a great hire for the Giants, good and great teams get coaches and players poached. I strongly suspect Daboll will be going to the Giants. The Giants are a great opportunity for a long term rebuild. They have the 5th and 7th picks in the draft and are likely to have low enough expectations given their lack of recent success that they will likely give a new coach 3 seasons to properly rebuild. They have some good defensive talent but on offense lack a lot of punch outside of their tackle Thomas and Barkley. I don't think too many players will be poached by the Giants as they don't have a ton of cap space to deal with. Maybe Beasley or Mac get poached and some depth/special teams players. But I don't see the Giants going after bigger ticket players from the Bills. This isn't a very strong QB class. I think they stick with Jones for one more year and see what they have before deciding to move on. Schoen and possibly Daboll or Frazier will likely want to poach some Bills talent but I doubt that given the Giants bad cap situation I don't think they have much to work with to go out and steal too many players from the Bills.
  19. Bills 38 Chiefs 31, I think the Bills pull away late and KC gets a garbage time field goal to pull it within a score but fails to recover an onside kick.
  20. Although I would say that Chris Jones being a top 10 player in the league is not accurate he is one of the top 3 DT's in the NFL. Jones not being there in the first game was a big factor in the favor of the Bills. Jones being there and being on the interior will be a big time test for the O-line.
  21. The Browns, Colts and Chargers definitely disappointed in the AFC. The Ravens also disappointed but that is more so due to injuries that plagued them throughout. In the NFC I would say the Seahawks were far below expectations.
  22. I can play corner that doesn't mean I will play well.
  23. The Pats always went hunting in the middle of free agency for the most part. But this off-season they went crazy on larger contracts like I haven't seen them do before. The Pats signed 4 players on contracts that average over 10 million aav and signed Trent Brown to a one year deal at 11 million. On top of that they signed another 4 players to contracts above 6 million aav for multiple seasons. I think Billy B realized that he likely was going to have a rookie QB for the next several seasons and thus will have a lot of flexibility to bring on a bunch of mercenaries. While I don't think they can or will do another big time spending spree I wouldn't be shocked to see them trying to add a dynamic WR piece to help Mac and then draft up the defense to get younger and try and take another run with Jones this season hoping a year and a better WR1 will help. I don't foresee this plan working in terms of making deep playoff runs. But I do think the Pats should be a competitive 10ish win team with Mac Jones and a solid offensive supporting cast and a good defense and ST attack.
  24. Rex Ryan, Doug Marone, Chan Gailey, Dick Jauron, Mike Mularkey, and Greggo were the coaches before McD. I think fans forgot just how bad the Bills coaches used to be.
