  1. We have MORE than enough to do this and this is what I am praying happens. We could do this and still sign Jesse James or a WR and still have plenty of cap space left for rookies and such. I responded before I saw your very detailed post, great job.
  2. I am all for drafting one of those TEs, I would also add Oliver to that list who reminds me of a young Jimmy Graham. In fact, I would still sign Jesse James, even over $6m. He is not only a big target but a very good pass and run blocker. Then draft Oliver whose strength is as a receiver and not as polished as a blocker yet. Those two would form a twin towers tandem that would be very difficult to defend and also boost our blocking with James. This way we can draft DL, WR, or OL with out first two picks and then nab Oliver in rounds 3 or 4.
  3. He did have 1059 yards the year before that though. But yeah, seems like a lot for a guy whose best year was just solid and 3 years ago. His production has gone down every year since and when you watch him play he doesn’t display anything special. He’s fast but he’s a guy that seems to be easily taken out of games and doesn’t make the big catches. I never understood the infactuation with him, especially with the depth at WR in the draft.
  4. I agree, I really like those first 4 guys, don’t know much about Hart. But I do really like Humphries, be nice to have a little more experience in the room than just a lot of first and second year NFL players. And I mainly want to sign Humphries to replace Zay.
  5. But why was he buried on the depth chart? Because after his best year they still drafted Mike Williams in the top 10. They didn’t feel Tyrell was even a number 2 or they use that pick somewhere else. Plus both MW and Keenan missed plenty of time and yet he still hasn’t done a whole lot. And his best season was still just barely 1000 yards. So have a hard time paying top dollar for a guy who hasn’t done more with Rivers, saw his team draft a top 10 WR despite having both Allen and Tyrell, and whose best season was 3 years ago. Give me Tate or Humphries then draft one or two this year. I won’t hate signing Tyrell, but not first choice.
  6. Humphries is better than Zay. And this “Josh likes to throw long” stuff is getting over exaggerated. Yes he has a big arm, yes he took a lot of shots, but you can’t throw it 20+ yards down field every play. Humphries could be a dangerous weapon for Josh. And I said to also draft a WR in first 2 rounds to be another deep threat. Not like I’m saying only add Humphries.
  7. That’s fake news. This is a great WR draft and there are plenty of guys who have WR1 potential plus guys who can be deep threats. I didnt say ONLY sign Humphries either. He is my top FA, but I want some dee threats in draft. Amd why do I care about the price? Isn’t that obvious? More bloated contracts we amass the less cap space we have each year. Over paying for an under achieving WR whose best year was a solid season 3 years ago is a risky move. I’m all for spending to land players, but let’s spend on players who have played at a high level. Tyrell has one solid season 3 years ago despite playing without Rivers in a passing offense
  8. Well we have plenty of money to spend on OL, so neither would keep us from that. But Humphries I would be all for signing. He will be the Kupp/Edelman/Welker type role for Josh and that would be huge. I just have a hard time buying Tyrell will live up to this contract when he was pretty pedestrian playing with Rivers. Not to mention after he had his best season, they still spent a top 10 pick on a WR in Mike Williams. So, I am not sold he is going to be the #1 WR he thinks he will be. Wouldn't hate it if he wound up a Bill, I mean he has upside. But just skeptical of the contract he is going to get even though he didn't really "earn" it and is getting it on production he had in his only solid season 3 years ago.
  9. I hope we land him. Would love to add at least 1 more relevant FA if not 2. If we could get him, then go land Saffold and one of the 2 centers then I would be on cloud 9.
  10. Good, I don't want to pay him $12M. I would MUCH rather sign Humphries. He may prove worth it, he may not. I don't want to gamble $12M to find out. Give me a great slot WR like Humphries for less and then draft our #1 type WR this year in rounds 1 or 2.
  11. How many Safeties are we going to field? We wont be signing any of the big safety names IMO just because they will have plenty of starting opportunities elsewhere, not sure they want to come to a place where we have 2 very good safeties in place already.
  12. Certainly could be, but there are a LOT of WRs who could go in the 2nd
  13. You don’t need to be as fast as Ross to be explosive given Ross had insane 40 time. There are some speedsters expected to go in rounds 3 to 5. And there are always WRs that go later than expected every year, so some of the 2nd/3rd projected guys will likely be available a little later than expected. And honestly I would rather use a 3rd on someone like Isabella rather than a 4th on Ross. It’s also possible Marquise Brown could slip to 3rd too after injury and the amount of WRs who raised their stock at the combine. If that happens then run to the podium in the 3rd.
  14. Yup, agree with all of this. The one RB I would really like to nab in the 3rd or 4th is Bryce Love. Just think he’s going to be a steal there. Although there are a few other backs I’d be happy with in the same draft range too.
  15. John Ross catch rate was around 37% in 2018. Im all for taking a chance on him for one of our 5ths, but don’t let the 7TDs cloud the risk factor here. There are WRs in this draft with similar skill sets we can draft in rounds 4 and 5. Trading for Ross is not a must.
  16. Lol, it was two auto correct typos while typing on the phone. I corrected them. Again, where are you getting this historically bad offensive draft from? And once again, you seem to be forming this opinion based on your dislike of Metcalf and belief he will be chosen #9. And because you don’t like him, you’re now projecting every offensive player taken after him to be even worse? All good, we will just agree to disagree on the quality of the offensive prospects in this draft. Funny, while it’s defensive heavy at the top, it’s actually deeper offensively.
  17. I wouldn't be upset if one of those 3 wound up on the Bills roster in terms of the player. I would be fine with the contract they would get too, I mean we have the cap room. However, I don't want to give up the draft assets to get them. This draft is deep in players we need at other positions like WR, TE, OL and picks in rounds 1 through 4 are pretty valuable this year to us. Despite a lot of peoples desire for a new pass rusher, its not really our biggest need and I think there are other ways to address it in FA and draft. Now if we can trade a draft pick in NEXT years draft, sure I can get more on board with it as long as it did NOT include our first. Here is an idea: We could try and trade Zay Jones and our 4th/5th round pick next year for one of those guys. Cowboys losing Cole and Williams, so they might bite on that. Houston could use another WR with Thomas gone and Fuller always hurt too. Chiefs wont have any interest in that trade though. Then we can flip one of our 4th round picks this year to the Bengals for Ross and still draft a WR in first 2 rounds. We end up with the pass rusher we trade for. And a WR room that would include Rookie from R1/R2, Foster, Duke, Ross, and Mckenzie which would be pretty exciting on its own, but could still add one or two in FA too. But all that being said, I cant see Beane trading for any of those guys. Beane really covets draft picks, so I seriously doubt he will make any major trades involving high draft picks. Which is why I think someone like Ross or maybe even Duke Johnson are guys that are more realistic trade options.
  18. Lol, talk about taking a statement to literally. All good man. And I am glad you’re not the GM if you think the players we are getting at #9 and in the early rounds of this draft are gonna be crappy. Pretty sure not a single football mind in the world would agree with your assesment on that. And “kings ransom” for Tua? He sure didn’t show that value in the championship game. Talk about premature. I heard the same about Jake Locker, Sam Darnold, Brian Brohm, Matt Leinart, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, etc all the year before they entered the draft. Yet none were number one overall pick so many proclaimed they would be. Tua could have have a big year and be the top pick, but it’s waaaaaay to early to know that. I mean next years class will have several guys aiming to be graded the top QB including Hebert. Youre right though, it isn’t powerball...poweball has better odds than what you’ve proposed.
  19. Why do you think that, I mean he hasn’t flourished there yet. He doesn’t get great separation, doesn’t have great hands, nor is he a crisp route runner. Three things pretty much essential to excel out of the slot. Not sure why people think he would excel there. He wasn’t getting open consistently in his first two years when he would line up in the slot as it is. I agree it may be where he is best suited, but not convinced he is going to “flourish” in any role to be honest. I think right now he is more likely to be more of a Chris Hogan than a Julian Edelman IMO. Just with worse hands. Edelman is an example of someone flourishing, Hogan is an example of a solid contributor but not a guy you want to lean on in a big role. I hope he proves me wrong, but I have yet to see him do any one part of his job consistently nor has he established any part of his game as something he excels at.
  20. By proposing things that are make believe. For instance, teen wolf like werewolves taking over the NBA or the female Org**m ? And since you brought up math...in math, -1 is less than zero ??
  21. No disrespect, but there is a big difference in trading away one pick for future picks than trading away our whole draft for future picks like you said in your OP...which that has less than 0% chance of happening. And could they trade this years first for one next year, sure. Low chance of that happening though there will be some amazing prospects available at 9 this year. And no way they trade the 9th pick for just someone’s next years 1st round pick. Teams go from last to much improved in one off season all the time in the NFL, so they could easily pick lower than 9th next year and future picks are already worth less than current picks. So a one for one swap has 0% chance of happening too. Someone would have to offer the Bills not only next years first but more picks on top of that before we would trade away #9. So while I get your logic, the way you proposed it just isn’t really realistic. Also, you grossly under estimate the talent in this draft and also seem to base your desire to move on from #9 on your assumption the pick will be Metcalf and the fact you’re not high on Metcalf. That’s not a reason to abandon this draft.
  22. Exactly. And I have a hard time taking a rankings list seriously that has Harry as the 9th best WR prospect when he may be the first or 2nd WR taken. Anyone ranking him outside the top 4 is hard to take serious.
  23. Work ethic has never been a question mark. However, his hands, route running, speed, separation, mental strength, and ability to make contested catches all have been and still are. And if he doesn’t pan out, these will all be the reasons.
