  1. They reached for the stars and drafted a high risk highest ceiling potential franchise QB. If things work out in a way that is trending the value of the team can escalate quickly.
  2. With all of the trickery and rub routes the Pats offense has evolved beyond needing an offensive line.
  3. I’d give it a few weeks to assess whether we can make a legitimate run at the Lombardi THIS YEAR. Then, go for it with a second round pick.
  4. Watson is a statue of Bledsoesque proportions and that will always hold him back and prevent him from reaching elite status. In a redraft today, I draft Allen over Watson.
  5. On franchise QB curve: B, B+ On curve for supposedly raw development talent playing his 4th season of D1+ ball: A+, A+++
  6. Wow. Quite a bobble there by Ray-Ray
  7. If Allen’s picks go up this year we should all show a little patience and remind ourselves that the youngster is learning to throw with anticipation for the first time in his football life. Very good article though the writer almost lost me by using the word “perhaps” two sentences in a row.
  8. The Bickering Bills were the 89 team. The 88 team was dominant on D and should have made the super bowl which they could have won against the 10-6 miners had they not dropped 3 of 4 to close the season to finish 12-4 and lose home field. The 89 team was predicted to be dominant, even better than 88, but finished 9-7 about as poor a record as was possible. Most people blamed the drop off on the bickering amongst the players. Marv Levy blamed the drop off on Art Still, who had one last dominant year as a run stopper DE in 88 (Marv called him the best run stopper of all time) but who’s play dropped off precipitously in 89 according to Marv.
  9. As long as he’s healthy before the trade deadline. Could be nice addition if the price is right.
  10. I’m expecting to Beane to bring in three free agents better than Shaq with reasonable contracts, have them compete for the position, then trade two of them for draft pics before the 53 man roster cut down day.
  11. More worried about the Cowboy’s offense blowing up the second he’s gone.
  12. Just look his stats. A ypa in the 3s each year except for one season. He’s a middler NFL starter at best. I can’t believe he’s holding out. 13. Thank god the team name is tied to the city. The franchise likely would have moved a long time ago with a more transportable name.
  14. Correct, no posts came down in the comeback but this thread is about storming the field not taking down the posts.
  15. Hopefully the greatness of the next generation of Bills greats will be measured in terms of titles won.
  16. Makes sense for the Chargers to let Gordon seek a deal. I don’t know why anyone would let their RB run up such stats that he can insist on a franchise RB paycheck. Running back by committee to limit yards to 800 and salary to 5. The Patriot way.
  17. McCoy is seen as well past his prime. Featuring him would have actually attracted negative attention to the franchise.
  18. I can’t believe they paid that much. Could have gotten him for the lowest tier starter number of 10M. Fitz gets 5.5. Tyrod got about 15 but that was after putting up great ball security stats.
  19. All teams are trying to find a way to get their 54th best player onto the roster. That’s why it’s always easier than you think to retain your #54.
  20. Lot of Bills QBs go to the Raiders. RJ, Losman, Trent, EJ, Peterman, the mad bomber...
  21. Zay Jones just cannot make a play. It’s frustrating to watch. He will nearly make a play several times a game but is just not pull it off for some reason, usually a different reason, each time.
  22. Agreed. I didn’t like him at first on Sirius NFL radio - kind of an annoying voice - but he has grown on me over the years. Princeton grad. He has not been on Sirius for a few weeks. Hopefully that’s just temporary and he’s focusing on broadcast prep just for the season.
