  2. One schedule variable that wasn't considered, despite some wild internet conjecture, was making sure Travis Kelce and the Chiefs had a game scheduled close in location to one of the tour spots for Taylor Swift. "I saw a lot of conspiracy theorists talking about Kansas City at Buffalo middle of the season, right when Taylor's playing Toronto," North said. "That one definitely did not hit our radar screen."
  3. Family guy right before bed every night.
  4. They are moving from X's and O's because podcasters can't keep subscribers or generate any revenue by being honest with the team's fans. The name of the game is to stroke the subscribers until the revenue comes out. If you want to be in that line of "work" and be honest or ever have a pessimistic view you need to have an audience that includes all team's fans...........not just the homer's of 1 team.
  5. Maybe he's waiting to see how the team (particularly the new offense) looks. No point risking his health if we don't have a legit shot to make a run.
  6. New year same results yankees/twins “The win gives New York a 120-44 record (including playoffs) against the Twins since 2002, the best record by any team in the Majors against an opponent in its own league”
  7. I've already responded a couple times, but this particular post struck me because it explicitly stated what was otherwise implied. Combine measurements Cooper Kupp 6' 2" 204 lb 4.62 40-time (he plays faster) Amon-Ra St Brown 6' 0" 197 lb 4.59 40-time Stefon Diggs 6'1" 195 lb 4.46 40-time Unless you want to extoll a 0.13 or 0.16 sec difference in the Underwear Olympics, they're physically very similar players. They dominate physically not because Diggs is larger or more powerful than Kupp or St Brown, but because of how they use their bodies to juke DBs out of their jocks and break their ankles, the crispness and timing of their routes, their skill at hand-fighting and arm-overs, and their abilities to track the ball and adjust. I would VERY MUCH like the chance to do the experiment as to whether Kupp or St Brown would continue to be as productive on another team, namely OURS. It's entirely theoretical, 'cuz it's not gonna happen but my reaction would be 100% X-rated and unfit for a "family" board. Most of the top WR who have been traded or signed as FA have been similarly productive for their new teams, at least for a year or so. Where they fail to stay productive, it's typically not the new team or system that fails them, but their own bodies (ACLs for Beckham, hammies and MCLs for Hopkins etc). Father Time is undefeated.
  8. It’s a good point. When you finish in first place the schedule is never easy. But assuming all of the teams who were good in ‘23 will be good in ‘24 is not accurate. So much can change during the season with injuries and unexpected roster moves etc. We should have a better idea of the difficult of the schedule by midseason
  9. It's funny, because there was talk by some solid posters here about the WR position as a need in 2021, 2022, it heated up in 2023, and continued into 2024. It's become clear their lack of investment there points to a schematic priority they don't share with most of the NFL. Frankly, it's personnel blockheadedness. OBD do not get points in 2024 for what they did in 2019, 2020, or 2021. That was an eternity ago and the NFL is a "now" league. Offensively, the NFL is a vertical game and throwing downfield well tends to win in the post-season. Throwing horizontally and short to backs, slot receivers, and to the TE makes them predictable. Their personnel is going to limit them a lot sooner than people realize. The MVS signing was an acknowledgement they know they're limited at WR they needed to sign a guy who's been available for 2 months on the market. All their guys practically have the same skill set.
  10. I agree, it will be hard for Hamlin to make this team. Delaney has shortcomings, but he's managed to hang around the league and worked his way up from a special teamer to a guy who can start in a pinch. He's even got a little speed with a sub -4.5 40. I think the Bills could stand to upgrade the depth at safety some more (and find another quality starter too) but I think they can probably get by with this group at safety in 2024.
  11. Kreider said no thanks to a game 7. Great series
  12. First off I want to say I respect Beane’s game. He always finds a way to fill holes and gives McD as much depth as possible every year to keep the team competitive. He did a great job putting make up on an ugly pig of a WR group after the draft. BUT what if we went all in on surrounding Josh with as much young cheap talent as possible. What if Beane didn’t play it safe year in and year out with high character dependable players and went with some potential home run hitters. Humor me and lets play this out, let’s reverse time back to this epic 2024 WR draft. AD Mitchell and Troy Franklin may have had some character flaws that dropped them a bit in the draft but their talent is undeniable. In a year where even before we lost Davis and Diggs we needed another young WR, let’s pretend that we did something unconventional and actually took 3 WR in the first 3 rounds! 🤯 Now how would this play out? Pick 33 is still Coleman and we got some draft capital pick 51 or higher (trade a 5th this year and a 3rd next year) AD Mitchell Pick 95 Troy Franklin The rest of the draft stays the same BUT wait we don’t have Bishop at safety or Carter at DT whatever will we do!?! Hmmm maybe this year we let McD get a couple FAs to plug and play. Maybe we don’t go dumpster diving for leftover WRs and instead grab a couple veteran defensive players instead. Why not sign Justin Simmons and Calais Campbell and then next year when it’s a better defensive draft you can address the DT spot Josh now has Coleman, AD Mitchell, Troy Franklin, Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel…oh and McD can have his special teams WR with the last spot too in Hollins, Shavers or Shorter. You know you’d love that WR corps and so would Josh for the next 4+ years Again, Beane did a great job making the best out of a bad situation with his WR room but man what could’ve been if he just leaned into helping his franchise QB out long term instead of short term bandaids.
  13. On the bright side at least they won tonight. But yeah Diaz isnt instilling much faith in me either. While I don’t hate the Phillies as much as the average Met fan does, a 4 game sweep by the Phils coupled with the Rangers winning tonight would have been brutal.
  14. Yes, we should trust the man who's only legislative accomplishment was giving the biggest tax cut to the top 1% and Corporate America to protect Social Security and Medicare. FOH, B

  17. Their fixed retirement incomes are completely f…ed bc Team Blue shut down the planet to get rid of Trump….I mean not overwhelm the hospitals. Flatten the curves. Nothing convinces us like Joe Biden tweets Bill Pysop. Let that low info flow.
  18. Lyin’ in a den in Bombay With a slack jaw and not much to say i said to the man are you tryin to tempt me? because I come from the land of plenty? and he said… I come from a land down under…
  19. I agree with your overall point that Beane has not given the WR position its propers. However, 2022 started the season with Diggs, Davis, Crowder, McKenzie, Khalil Shakir as the developmental rookie, and Jake Kumerow as the ST guy/backup X By the end of the season, it was Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Shakir, with Kumerow and Crowder both on IR and guys getting elevated off the practice squad. Tanner Gentry was seeing meaningful snaps. Now Beane's roster handling can 100% be justly criticized - Hodgins looked more promising than the other PS guys, and Beane, short on healthy CBs, exposed him to waivers knowing his buddy Joe Schoen with the Giants was desperate for WR at that point and would likely snap up a WR he'd helped to scout and draft. So let's understand the signing of Brown and then Beasley to our PS in context, for what it was - signing some backup depth guys to be active on game day in case of injury to the starters, who remained Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, and Shakir. Viewed in that light, they knew the playbook and Josh had familiarity with them, so it wasn't a Bad Thing and arguably a better thing than just elevating randoms like Dezmon Patmon or Keesean Johnson off PS. If you want to criticize Beane's handling of the WR position from 2022 on, criticize the line-up that started the season - the thought that Davis was ready for an expanded role as the #2 instead of the backup platooning with Brown and then with Sanders; the thought that McKenzie was able to step into being a full time slot.
  20. @Gugny @Another Fan @ExWNYer Diaz blows another one. Off the top of my head I can't think of another player who I had zero confidence in (2019) and then had the utmost confidence in (2022) and now I'm trending back to no confidence. Hopefully just bumps in the road coming off the injury. If not, he could be part of another trade deadline purge - along with Polar Bear.
  21. If you have elderly parents or family member who rely on social security, Medicare, and affordable prescription drugs AND vote for Trump - you're a sick SOB.
  22. This post is going to upset Frankish something fierce as the Copper Courier, part of Courier Newsroom, can in no way be considered part of the reliable mainstream media. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courier_Newsroom Courier Newsroom is a digital media company that operates news outlets and sponsors political content intended to support Democratic candidates.[1][a][3][4][5] The goal of Courier Newsroom publications, according to an internal memo obtained by Vice News, "is to create shareable viral pseudo 'news content' to boost its preferred candidates."[1]Courier's founder is Tara McGowan, who used to work for the Obama campaign and for the SuperPAC Priorities USA Action.[6][7] Courier is run primarily by former Democratic operatives. It has received funding from Planned Parenthood to cover abortion related issues.[8] NewsGuard, which rates the reliability of news sources, has warned that "Courier's undisclosed funders and glowing coverage of Democratic candidates should raise questions about its reliability."[8] Otherwise, nice find by you. I know, Wikipedia… https://www.salon.com/2020/02/23/if-democrats-fight-right-wing-fake-news-fire-with-fire-we-all-lose/ Another affiliate of Acronym, Courier Newsroom, has set up what appear to be local news sites but are actually propaganda efforts aimed at creating content to be shared on social media to boost moderate Democrats.
