  2. Other than he likes Pearsall way more than I do - Joe basically sees the round 1 and 2 receivers the same as me. If you pretend Pearsall doesn't exist his top 8 is the same as mine.
  3. Gentle reminder that the 6th WR off the board is not necessarily the 6th best WR in the draft
  4. Okay so roughly it is: Top 10 grade: Elite Quarterback prospect able to start in the league and play at a high level almost immediately. (numerically that is a 7.6 or above to me in my grading structure) Mid 1st round grade: Able to be a solid NFL starter almost immediately, has potential to trend towards a high level QB in time. (numerically a 7.3-7.5) Late 1st: Able to be a solid starter in the NFL immediately and capable of being a two contract starter (a "franchise" Quarterback) even if not looking at that high level ceiling. (numerically a 7.0-7.2) High 2nd: Potential to become a solid two contract starter in the NFL but might need some work to get there. (6.6-6.8) Late 2nd: Project who can't start early but has traits to make an NFL starter. (6.0-6.4) Early 3rd: Can be an game manager. Capable of starting while on a rookie contract. Unlikely to be a guy any team commits to long term. (5.6-5.8) Late 3rd: Bridge Quarterback who could start for multiple teams but never be the guy. (5.0-5.4) 4th round: High level backup potential 5th round: Potential to be a bounce around backup 6th/7th round: Some traits to work with as a developmental prospect. Again everyone has their own way. My grading is based on learning how others do it and taking from it but it also isn't supposed to be a copy of anyone else's. It is what makes sense to me and how I try and keep myself consistent year to year. Of course you do tweak your thinking as you go. And I think I feel differently about some elements than I did 11 years ago when I started. As for how they stack up... I don't have a slam dunk in this class. I think it is a class with guys with some talent but as I said at the start.... the more I watched - especially Williams, Maye and Daniels - the more I saw of their warts. If you are one of those top 3 teams with desperate needs at Quarterback I think you gotta take a shot here. But you gotta do so knowing there is considerable risk and you better have a really solid plan for each of them as to how younare going to use them early and try and develop them. With each if they end up in a bad fit system wise it could be a disaster. Interesting. I saw more Mahomes than Allen. Just in the way he creates. But I agree the question with him is whether he can perform consistently from the pocket - get through his progressions and get the ball out.
  5. Not according to nfl.com draft profiles https://www.nfl.com/prospects/xavier-worthy/3200574f-5274-1496-c9ca-5c4709faa05b Same point though
  6. Trading up is a no brainer, if not a necessity, unless we want to settle for, at best, the 6th WR off the board. Thomas will be gone by 28. And anyone underneath us that is interested in a WR is going to jump ahead of us because they know we're going to take one and quite possibly their "guy". The question is - is it an "aggressive" trade up they're hearing about or simply "aggressively" trying to move up any number of slots?
  7. 2) Great, just what we need, another smurf-y Z receiver that lacks the strength and the release to beat press man coverage at the X or Y position, to go with our stable of receivers who are best used playing off the LOS plus Mack "Savage" Hollins. Bills should 100% take their draft advice from Ty Dunne
  8. There's way more of a chance of it being a Julio Jones/Matt Ryan type result than a Sammy Watkins/Tyrod Manuel type result. The question though is how much does the rest of the roster do you have to sacrifice to make that happen?
  9. Today
  10. I thought Williams profiled as close to Allen as anybody I have seen so far. I don’t see him being able to get to Josh’s level, but his ability to create outside of the script. His improvisation and playmaking will be rivaled by few. How can he perform within the confines of the play? I question that. He will be a guy that could have success early only to hit a funk once coordinators take away the basic things he wants to do.
  11. The Bills will not touch Jermaine Burton Be interesting if they have T’Vondre Sweat on their board still The hard part is we don’t know Medicals. Is Laiatu Latu on their board? What about Maason Smith? Did the Bills use a 30 on him so their doctors could look at his injuries
  12. Holy crap. What if they target AZ’s pick and take MHJ? Jesus what a draft pick that would be. It was said a few posts back. When we took Watkins we had a bum throwing him the ball. Could you imagine MHJ Nabors or Odunze with Josh throwing to them? Immediate stud receiver if Beane thinks that one of these guys is a generational talent. If he’s convinced go get him whatever the cost.
  13. Dugger hasn't played one posititon in the league either. He has also been a slot, safety, LB hybrid. I take the point on Mathieu he has just been a safety in the NFL. Also while in 2023 DeJean was primarily an outside corner for Iowa he played a lot of slot and a lot of box safety in 2022. This is not as simple a case as you make it sound of a guy that has been stuck out on the boundary for 3 years in college suddenly wanting to play all over in the pros.
  14. He is definitely a project. I mentioned two things in his mechanics - I think the wind up is going to be cat nip to NFL rushers and I think he drops his arm when feeling pressure. So I don't think Simms is talking nonsense. The reason he is still a first rounder to me is of all six of them the one who has some obvious elite level Quarterback play moments on his film is Maye. When he is good it is "you could be a top 5 QB in the league tomorrow" good. He might a bit Josh Allen like in that it might be year 3 before that is what you get (not comparing to Josh otherwise just in terms of development arc - he is more Herbert than Allen IMO). But if he reaches his ceiling Maye can be elite.
  15. It only makes sense that we use the 2nd from the Diggs trade to move up for Odunze or BTJ.
  16. I’m supposed to be concerned about Trump pretending to be an evangelical when this trash is the other option?…
  17. How about our extra 4th this year and next year's #1 to go up to #9 with the Bears? Maybe we will throw in like a 6th or something this year as well to help sweeten the deal. The Bears only have 4 picks in this year's draft so if they could add 2 more plus a #1 next year it would be to their benefit. They are already pretty stacked at WR, Odunze would be their #3 option on their offense (DJ Moore, Keenan Allen).
  18. Its worse...hes actually 2 inches taller at 6'1" and 165 pounds. He is literally a stick figure thats not gonna be able to get off the line in bad weather games.
  19. So many here seem to not remember the Sammy Watkins lesson. Pick 28 and another wr with pick 2 through 4 and hope one is it.
  20. Rumor is that QB's will go 1-4 so that drops the top 3 WR's a bit and one of those guys might fall out of the top 10. It wouldn't be too crazy to think they could get to around 10 if they gave up next year's #1 while still maintaining a high 2nd rounder (Vikings 2nd from Diggs trade) which could act as their 1st if they believe they are going to pick around 30 anyhow. Vikings 2nd is likely top 35-40 so they wouldn't be totally screwed for next year. Rome Odunze - welcome to Buffalo
  21. Only way I can see them go way up is if Odunze/Nabers gets to at least 12. And there are paths for that to happen. I think BTJ is very likely a target and one they would go up and get. I hope we don't move up for Worthy though. If we take Worthy at 28, fine, but I am not a fan of moving up for someone who has real question marks if his light frame can hold up to a WR1 role for 17 games and playoffs. Will he even be able to get off the line in snow/bad weather games in Buffalo when the game gets more physical and slower? LOVE the idea of his speed, but I fear his best traits are vulnerable to what comes with playing in Buffalo.
  22. It’s a draft thread, but one I haven’t seen.. a minor topic considering. And we only have five more days to make all this crap. I’d like to hear some opinions on the current OBD occupying regime’s off the board” players. Are there any players of significance this draft? Say top 120 or so players that the Bills won’t touch? Or that any team definitely won’t touch? I really haven’t heard of any.. I would have expected the Bills to pass on Jalen Carter last year if they had a top ten pick. I think OBD has a conservative “off the board” board. It is somewhat illogical to me that a player would definitely be off your board, unless it’s some very serious murderous type charges. Just saying. How conservative do you think the Bills are with that board, or do you think they are mid pack, or even in the more opportunistic tier of NFL teams? Hypothetical,, Bills are wheeling and dealing to trade up to draft BTJ and simultaneously TMZ is reporting Nabers is doing some shady stuff.. not suspension worthy, or DB, but I don’t know.. guns..?? Where does OBD draw that line..? Nabers falls because of TMZ stuff, is he off the Bills board..? Even at #20?? I’m only using Nabers because he’s the guy I want. Not because I think he does shady stuff. I don’t have a clue.
  23. Ya, I liked Coleman from the jump. Polk as we well and Legette is also coming on in my mind. Not a big fan of Worthy though. Hollywood Brown seems to be his comp. Brown isn't a bad player but I'm hopeful we can get more out of this pick especially if we trade up.
  24. As I said before...I HOPE Miami takes Worthy, would be one of the worst moves they could make and I would love every second of it. I assure you it will result in the firing of the whole regime a year from now. With a better roster than they have now, and the fastest roster in the NFL the past 2 seasons they have only beaten 2 teams who had a winning record, blew a 4 game lead in the division with like 5 games to go, and haven't won a playoff game. Their trenches are a total mess now and there will be great prospects on both sides of the trenches at 21. Taking a guy who is going to be WR3 and maybe get 30-40 receptions this year (unless injuries give him more opportunities) is not changing anything for them. As it is, they are staring down the barrel of missing the playoffs (which they barely made last year) this year. Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, Texans, Bengals are all there...then you got Jets, Jags, Steelers, Browns, Colts, and maybe Chargers who will also all likely at least make some playoff noise if not flat out make the playoffs. Nothing will be funnier to me than seeing Miami take Worthy and McDoofus show he has no idea how to build a football team outside of Madden.
  25. Sadly, if we move up for any WR in the first there is very little chance...I would say almost no chance...we take another WR in the 2nd. We have some many other positions we need to address and we don't have a 3rd plus we will be without whatever other picks we included to move up in the first. If we stay at 28 and take Worthy, then maybe they would go WR in 2nd too (and I would be pounding the table hard for Polk if we were to take a WR in the 2nd), but still without a 3rd and badly needing to address a couple other areas, I just highly doubt we go WR - WR even without trading up in rounds one and 2.
  26. I warsh my hands before drarwing.
