  2. There's been enough discussion around here about schemes and concepts that we all do not want to see again. With new Coordinators on both sides of the ball, what schemes and concepts from last year would you like to see carry over into this season under new leadership? Personally I'd like for us to continue building on our Dart run concept that was so successful for us last season (click here if you're unfamiliar with the concept). It was by far our most productive run concept we ran, and towards the end of the year I think we got a bit of a glimpse of what's to come this season under Brady as we saw an uptick in the RPO game off of Dart action. My hope is we'll continue to scheme around this concept in order to not only have Dart, Q Dart, and all of the RPO game off of it, but also be able to use the blocking scheme in misdirection off jet/orbit motions. Defensively we saw a dramatic shift in our coverages going from a primarily Quarters/Cover 2 defense with a steady dose of Cover 3 mixed in to a predominantly Cover 3/Cover 1 defense with a steady dose of Quarters mixed in. With the backers we've been able to add to the team over the last few seasons I think we're at a point where we can feel comfortable sitting in Cover 1 knowing that our guys are athletic enough to get home on pressures. My hope is we continue to lean into this, put pressure on opposing Quarterbacks while still being able to disguise these looks as Cover 3 or Quarters coverages to give help to our secondary.
  3. Eric Moulds didn't really blossom as a wr until his third year, as I remember it.
  4. Can we at least all agree that Florida pizza is among the worst?
  5. Leave it to Timmah to try and create a “story” out of absolutely nothing. 🙄
  6. They’re objectively better players than Thorne, Travis and Rodemaker.
  7. Correct. Martin Nance was a Bills training camp hero. He played with Big Ben at Miami of Ohio. It was my attempt at a joke.
  8. We saw a ton of 50/50 balls fall incomplete or get intercepted also. I don’t think anyone is expecting much from Claypool.
  9. Don’t let fact checking get in the way of a feel good story.
  10. Hits: Hamler: gets past the injury bug and finally shows his talent on a consistent basis Collins: solid backup at T and G Miller: it usually takes until the second year after an ACL to get back to normal. Look for Von to get more than 10 sacks Misses: Claypool: sadly he refuses to get his head straight and gets cut fairly early. Would love to be wrong Smoot: I think Jonathan is the 4th DE and Solomon will make the roster Elam: again would love to be wrong, but I just don’t see him ever grasping the zone concepts. We trade him in the preseason.
  11. He did not tear his ACL. From the reports I saw he had a tibial plateau fracture.
  12. I share your concern with Brown. First Id heard that he had surgery was yesterday and I immediately thought of how he looked when he didn't have an off-season program a couple years before. Hopefully it's just precautions that kept him from participating. Anyone know if he was swinging a bat at the Micah Hyde softball game? What I'm most concerned about with Brown is that if he can't go or he doesn't play well because of the altered off season is his backups to me are a big bag of bleh. Beane made a point around the draft when discussing Collins that they see him at RT depth and then maybe some guard. And I really like Ryan Van Demark...on the left side. He didn't look great in preseason when they had him at RT. Now maybe a year past that he's improved there and is serviceable but we won't know til we know. As you said at C at least there are some options if McGovern struggles. I think Beane grabbing one of if not the best pure C in the draft is a signal that they aren't really sold on one of either McGovern at C or Edwards at LG. I think over the long term Edwards is a placeholder on the OL and we eventually see McGovern shifted back to LG and the rook at C. But if that happens this year or next...who knows.
  13. Today
  14. That is a very lazy comparison. Ever heard of a RAS score?
  15. When Miami signs him they are signing the death sentence for the next few years.....
  16. I'd take Allen. That's not homerism. I believe Dan Marino was better than Jim Kelly, Reggie White may well have been better than Bruce Smith, Barry Sanders was better than O.J. Simpson. Just because a guy dons a Bills uniform, doesn't mean he suddenly becomes all bright and shiny in my eyes. In this particular instance, however, I believe that Josh Allen is a better quarterback than Pat Mahomes. But, the Chiefs are plugging their QB into a much better, more effective offensive system than is the case for the Bills.
  17. Love how fluid Coleman looks. Albeit, against air. Nice cuts, smooth. I especially love how he catches the ball - looks it in, arms up when the ball arrives and not too early, good hands. Interesting how both 13 and 14 were reissued quickly. No reason not to of course.
  18. Okay fair enough. That said . . . Michael Jordan was drafted 3rd overall. While I know next to nothing about the NBA, I'm guessing he must have shown something at the college level, to have been taken with such an early pick. If I think of guys who were better as professionals than they'd been in college, one of the first names which comes to mind is Kurt Warner. No one drafted him. He tried out for the Green Bay Packers, but didn't make the final roster cut. Then he got a job stocking shelves for a grocery store. After he'd worked that job a bit, the St. Louis Rams called, and the rest is history.
  19. I just Love how Beane weaved through the draft and FA, trading through the draft and cutting dead weight and adding value in FA with limited resources. Expect alot of them to have big impacts from day 1 on..
  20. People should not get their hopes up about Claypool. He was lucky an NFL team even signed him. I was recently watching the 59 Minutes of Josh Allen Highlights video NFL's YouTube posted, and I was reminded of how much it helped Josh having speedy guys to run deep. He's not a guy that throws people open very often, but you did see him throw deep a ton if he saw the deep guy get a step or 2 on their man. Hoping Samuel can pick up the slack a bit on that end.
  21. Teams noticed he struggled against speed and started moving ends inside on obvious pass downs and speed rushing Cyrus's inside shoulder. Hopefully Kromer works on his counter to that this offseason.
