He wants to manipulate and control every facet of American society Republicans disagree with. He declares all these fake emergencies to justify his actions. Why has he gone after the big law firms? It’s because they are the ones who bring lawsuits against the government for unconstitutional actions. When has a Dem president ever used the power of the government to neuter powerful law firms? Trump is trying every possible action, constitutional or unconstitutional, that he can to expand his power. Presidential norms are out the window. Every President following him, on either side of the isle, will feel free to do likewise. The question is: Is that the kind of government we want? Regarding DC: Since when have Republicans cared about the lives of city residents? This is much more about Trump trying to change the story from Epstein and make himself look powerful to his base. Every other President has been extremely reluctant to deploy troops in law enforcement capacity. There is a reason for that. Now Trump declares fake emergencies to normalize their presence on the streets. I hope it goes well but there is reason for concern. Trump is now seeking to create a quick reaction force of troops to deploy on civillian protesters. I don’t like the direction this is all going. Our nation has done just fine, through much more turbulent times, without regularly deploying the military on our soil. My concern is that in an heated protest, young military troops not trained to deal with such events, will take violent action against our citizens. That would be a tragedy for both sides. I hope I’m wrong.

I think this narrative is just so overblown. Despite being on the field 45% of the snaps he still nearly doubled Ray Davis' rush attempts and quintupled Ty Johnson's. He had almost as many receptions as Davis and Johnson combined. People act like he was just a cog in a rotation. When in fact he was by far our most consistently explosive skill player and made a big difference when he was on the field. Personally I'm glad they're limiting his snaps. Keep his mileage low so he can continue making game changing plays for the next four seasons.

I'm not panicking. I don't expect Rookie's to be finished products in Year 1. Things happen with injuries and slow development. But that's the point. With our cap situation with so much delegated to retaining so many guys (who should or should not be retained, depending on the situation) in the window we're in, we rely on these guys in Year 1 to be big time difference makers to take us over the top. Bc we can't afford to get known commodities. Guys like Coleman, Bishop, and Carter are crucified for not being ready quick enough bc we're *relying* on them. When a little more fiscal spending on the number of people we retain could get us players who we KNOW will be an impact instead of not being able to afford to sign or trade for them - as we have for the past couple years.

Marshawn was definitely on his way out. McD would’ve dumped him even sooner. The problem was taking Spiller when they had Jackson on the roster. Just grab a complimentary back on the second or third day and use the #9 overall on something important. Crazy drafting.

This is why I tell anyone who screams for Beane and McDermott to be fired, we could easily be right back in the mess that preceeded them. I get they haven't won a Super Bowl. First off, are you okay? You're reviving dead threads to rehash a dead issue based on quotes from a player and randos. But to move on to Ladd's point, the answer is really simple - the "slot stereotype" comes from his usage. Khalil Shakir is our Slot. No one questions that. His snap percentage from the Slot was 70% last season. No one takes 100% of their snaps on the Outside or the Inside as a WR. And what was Ladd McConkey's Slot Usage? 65% There's a difference between a guy who "can play outside" and an Outside WR. He took 35% of his snaps on the Outside (as Shakir took 30% of his snaps on the Outside). That doesn't mean he can live there. If the Chargers felt McConkey was an Outside WR, he'd be taking 65% of his snaps on the Outside and 35% on the Inside instead of the other way around. If the Chargers felt he was an Outside WR, they wouldn't have spent another 2nd Round Pick on a True Outside WR this year to replace Joshua Palmer. They'd have just slid him over. We didn't need a WR you "can play Outside" in certain packages. We needed a guy who could live there. And in both College, his evaluation coming into the League, and how he was used in his Rookie season - he's not that.

If Beane and McDermott landed Baker or Darnold instead of backing into Josh are they even in Buffalo right now?
