Game week thread - Bills at Steelers
TheFunPolice replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
the Steelers are a 5-12 team that is coached up to a 9-8 ish team every season. They are awful. I cannot remember the last time they outplayed a good team and won. IF they beat a truly good team it's always fluky and usually involves special teams plays like blocked kicks and also several turnovers by the other team. They're frauds and win with smoke and mirrors. They can't line up and beat you. Nothing about them is scary. Couple that with the "Bills are done" talk percolating nationwide on sports media and here we go again. Narrative buster time where all the WR suddenly do great. Coleman goes for 75+ yards and a TD or two. It'll be like the Tampa Game but with a Steelers score: Bills 47 Steelers 13 If I were a gambler there is no amount of money I wouldn't bet on the Bills winning this game. -
We're Heading to Pittsburgh... The Stadium is Haunted

We're screwed! Ghosts won't get called for holding! -
Yep. Week to week league, but the Bills are down a couple notches from the previous 3 seasons. Losing at Houston and understanding the variables you mentioned isn’t some awful loss. Losing to inferior Atlanta and Miami are why people are acting out to this 3rd ugly road loss. Had the Texans game been in a vacuum we all could have accepted it much better as one L, not a big deal.

Steelers defense this season: - Allowed 32 points to the JETS(!!!) and Fields - Allowed 31 points to the Seahawks - Allowed 33 points to the Bengals (first meeting) - Allowed 35 points to the Packers - Allowed 25 points to the Chargers - Allowed 31 points to the Bears (last week) Or how about this: Have allowed 11 more points than the Bills D this season (compare that to the Texans who have allowed 70 less points than us)

They got beat up but were in it until the end, losing by 4 points. I'm not sure I'd call that worst team in the NFL. Can we do away with the hyperbole? Good lord.

I agree that the Elam and Coleman picks hurt.........but I don't think you really understand the Chiefs drafting record. Since 2020 the Chiefs have used first round picks on Clyde Edwards Helaire(bust) and Felix Anudike Uzomah(who has done very little in 3 seasons and is now on IR) and traded a #1 for a rental OT and lost him in FA(and replaced him with a dud). McDuffie was part of the return from Miami for Tyreek Hill..........a second first round pick that the Bills didn't have access to.

For the life of me, I can't understand why they went into prevent mode with zone coverage all the way down the field right before the half. Houston had plenty of time, and they predictably picked the Bills apart because a) the Bills couldn't get close with only four rushers and b) someone is always open in the Bills zone scheme if no one applies quick pressure on the QB.

That is literally ridiculous that Sean McDermott would be in the UFL without Josh Allen lol Sean McDermott would have another job in a millisecond as a head coach if we got rid of him He's literally was the defensive coordinator and play caller of the greatest Super bowl defensive effort ever in a losing game We've been severely outman in the playoffs for 2 years on defense and we lose by a field goal.. spagnola is literally fawned over here had more talent and a healthier defense and only gave up three less points hahaha And then he got gashed in the Super bowl the next week You would think if Sean McDermott was a bum and our defense was severely outmanned it would get whacked by Kansas City.. losing by three shows it's a hell of a coaching effort since everybody here says we're severely out coached, and they were healthy Doesn't make sense.. we also beat them five straight times in the regular season People act like Josh Allen was 100% guaranteed prospect.. he would have went first overall if that was true.. he literally had to get coached up to reach his full potential

He never translated as an NFL HC....yet you were (and still are???) pissed he didn't interview in Buffalo? holy cow

At least a couple of those teams were dealing with mediocrity on defense though. If Allen can be the same Allen as past Novembers, and Joe Brady can come up with a half way decent game plan that gives this team a chance... there is hope. People forget... Allen had his worst game against the Texans last year... and the offense had its worst game against the Texans this year... Good news is, we don't have to play a defense like that again. Only the Eagles concern me in that regard. The Steelers defense has been allowing a lot of points this year and is nowhere near the level of Houston.

Oliver Still Leads Bills in TFL, 2nd in Sacks

He was playing like an all-pro, came back from an injury and was still playing like an all-pro, and then got hurt again. Horrible luck. -
I hope you aren't planning on going to the game

We watch other games, just differently than we watch the Bills. Our assessment of the Eagles or Bucs is much more rational than our assessment of the Bills. All fans are like that, though. I think most of us would rationally say that the Eagles loss yesterday was just one close division game against a desperate team, but this thread exists on the Eagles forum right now: https://www.eaglesmessageboard.com/topic/13704-season-over-bad-team-one-more-win-left-at-most/ -
Agree on all of this - we just need to take care of our own business, starting this weekend in Pittsburgh. Every team in the hunt has "swing" type games, that can go either way. All 4 divisions are technically up for grabs. A lot of these teams also play each other over the final 6 weeks --- definitely safe to say that a 10-7 record will likely get you in this year.

People keep talking as if the 49ers have released Aiyuk. They have not. If you read carefully, it turns out that the 49ers voided his contract guarantees back in July, but we're just learning about this now for some reason. Everything beyond that is speculation and talking heads trying to put two and two together to generate content. Kyle Shanahan, when asked about it, doesn't dismiss him returning to the team. Strange situation, but as of now, he's still a Niner. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47065408/niners-shanahan-admits-aiyuk-contract-situation-unusual

So posters can’t reference a season from 4 years ago to make a point, but you can reference a QB that played nearly 40years ago to make yours? I guess all that matters is the bills suck, and you’re here to tell us you’re right?

How How is it worse than Diggs? He's far less public than Diggs. Or is this because he went shopping yesterday? I really don't care right now except introducing an element that opens up the offense. A #1 WR from a Super Bowl team is available, we should be trying.
