I don't know what industry you are in, but in mine, greatness comes from talent and effort. When "diversity" was the factor in putting people in positions they should not have been, it resulted in death.

Agree we could end up with best set in the conference in a couple yrs

The Battle for Jobs at Safety and Corner.
GASabresIUFan replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Very few of last year’s FAs have signed with new teams. Douglas, Cooper, Morris, Smoot, and others are still unsigned. By the way I know I started this thread, but honestly I’m still very concerned about the quality of both Safety and CB. For CB to be improved, the two rookies, Hairston and Strong will have to make an impact. Hairston needs to be a plug and play starter as White’s metrics were worse than Douglas’ last season. Strong also needs to beat out the washed up Dane Jackson. If White and Jackson play significant minutes next season, don’t expect better results. The same goes for Safety. 3/4 of last year’s disappointing unit return. For this unit to improve, Bishop had to become the starter and show significantly improved play. Otherwise Hamlin and Rapp return as the underwhelming starters. So what about Forrest? He was primarily a special teamer for Wash last season. I hope he adds decent depth, but I had more up for Edwards last season. Hancock is a raw rookie learning a new position. -

By 2027 the starters will be Benford, Hairston, Strong, Hancock and Bishop. Lewis and Ingram will not make the team. Hamlin's $700+K dead cap is nothing, remember MVS was I think $2 million. And remember OJ Howard. On the 53: Benford, Hairston, T Johnson, White, Strong, Jackson, Rapp, Bishop, Forrest, Hancock. If they keep 24 on offense (2 QB, 4 RB/FB, 9 OL, 3 TE, 6 WR) and 3 ST that leaves 26 for D. With the 2 suspensions, they can get away with 10 DL, 10 DB, 6 LBs. The roster challenges start when the suspended players come back. -

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

I doubt there was even that much strategy involved. It's a stretch for Moore to go back to returning punts. The reason the team wasn't hovering around .500 on December 1 like they have been often since 2021 is because they didn't give those games away with turnovers like they so often had. That's pretty much it. And as the second worst YAC guy in the NFL in 2024 he clearly doesn't have the juice/escapability to be a return guy. 😂 I think the music just stopped in free agency and Moore was the only chair available. 92 out of 98 is still top 98, right? If one of the 4 NFL WR's on the roster gets hurt they are down to practice squad trash that has no business playing offense. -

I’ve only watched college highlights, so of course there was none of that. I hadn’t thought about the cleats, but that could have been an issue. It reminded me of Chop Robinson getting his weight too far in front of him and Dawkins (for some reason unbeknownst to me) got penalized for taking advantage of it by simply pushing him to the ground. I like his motor, but they’ll have to coach that out of him.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

That feels like a bit of revisionist history, tbh. Through the first three games of the season they looked like world beaters without Amari Cooper. Then the Ravens and Texans happened, but what nobody talks about in those two games are A) Shakir got hurt and B) the offensive line played like trash and not because nobody was getting open, but because they were straight missing assignments and allowing free rushers. so yeah, they let go of MVS and traded for Cooper and they played better on offense…pretty much looked like the first three weeks. But Cooper didn’t really do much, missed some games and was getting out snapped by Mack Hollins. i think it is hilarious that the first argument brought up when saying we need a receiver are the numbers our receivers put up. But those same people are all too quick to say that Coopers contributions were about more than numbers…he was so good he pulled coverage from the bench. cooper fits your narrative, I get it. But they scored 30 in multiple games he didn’t play in. they didn’t score 30 in any games Shakir didn’t play the whole game. And I’d have to check because I am going off memory, but they scored 30+ in almost every one he finished. -

lol he’s making the team he’s probably the 2nd/3rd best WR on the roster -
India has significantly lower labor costs (70%) than China. It's a logical place to move your manufacturing production if I was a CEO.

Yep 3rd string slot receiver for $4M. And the two guys on the boundary would be better fits inside. 😂 -

This is false. Moore definitely isn’t fighting for the 5th WR spot. He will be starting. Palmer, Shakir, and Moore are the 3 best receivers on the team. Shakir will always be number 1 as far as Josh is concerned but Moore or Palmer could be 2nd or 3rd. They both have already proved they can play in the league. The Bills didn’t bring him in to be the 5th receiver. Samuel also will be in the top 4 if he plays like he did the last third of the season from last year and the fact he has already proven he can play in the league. Right now Keon is going to have to be the one to prove himself as he had a major drop off 2nd half of last season and Beane and McDermott were not happy with him. Can he play well enough to jump any of these other guys? Maybe but he is in the 5th position right now, I don’t care if they took him as their top pick last year. He has to prove a lot more. -

Man Wade Phillips had an eye for talent, but jeez just put the head sets on, so frustrating🙄 -
With multiple tumbles and misfooting I can’t help but wonder if he had the wrong cleats for whatever the turf or conditions were. Was that a trend in real game action throughout his college career?

Apple's moving iphone production to India. Google already moved pixel out of China. The exemptions were to ease the market and will be on the last few years of products made in China. The ball's in motion. It will be a three to five year transition before India mostly replaces China in our supply chain and manufacturing partner.

Probably because he only played 3 years with the Bills.
