I know this is kind of a “hear me out” or LAM post, and I know that objectively we only have about a 4% chance right now. I also admit I’m a bit of a homer, but I still think this is rational enough. I think the Bengals are the toughest game left on the schedule. If we win that one, we have a good chance to win out. I know most of you think this team is flawed and that McD is a bad coach, but we actually have a good regular-season track record with him, and we’re traditionally great in December. Oh, and we are NOT losing twice to the Pats* this year. And if we do win out, only the following things need to happen for us to get the 1-seed: Patriots lose one more divisional game (@ Jets, vs. Dolphins) or both of their other games (vs. Giants, @ Ravens). This is not impossible at all. I know they’re good, but nobody wins every game. I’d bet they drop one of those divisional matchups. Broncos lose two more games — @ Raiders, vs. Packers, vs. Jaguars, @ Chiefs, vs. Chargers. There’s almost no chance this doesn’t happen. They’re winning too many close games, and that’s a tough schedule. Colts, Chargers, Jaguars each lose one game. That’s basically guaranteed. So in my mind, we really only need two things: beat the Bengals, and then hope either the Dolphins or Jets can pull off a divisional win. If it fails, then I’m back to my original expectation: we’ll be playing a wild card game @ Ravens.

Are we sure we want them voting?

He was blocking like a mad man out there. Considering what we asked the offense to do it makes sense.

Hancock only getting 4 snaps is concerning. Hopefully that was due to suspected run-heavy game plan by the Steelers. Poyer seemed to play ok, but I think we'll need Hancock's speed for the Bengals.

Nonsense. There is a "war" on the narcotics smuggling industry, which is well funded and vibrant. In no way does that reality give a criminal activity which threatens our citizens any Geneva or other war time rules that the US is a signatory to. I have no idea how the US is determining actionable intel on these, but I would guess that they are paying informants. Discussing how they determine what to go after could very well expose "methods and sources," which we cannot do, for very obvious reasons.

Its not likely. I said it could happen. Which it can.

People act like the Bills have done nothing to address the passing game, They have dumped both Moore and Samuel. They very quietly put Davis on IR practice squad and they picked up Cooks for nothing, both are better than Moore and Samuel. I’ve seen the comments about Cooks age, he is the same age as Diggs.

I mean the colts still have J. Taylor who might get you 2-3 wins

I thought the same about thing. When they took over with 10mins left, I thought… just get a couple first downs take half the time off before you punt. Do that and the game is all but over. Then they went in an epic drive, drained almost the entire quarter, and kicked a FG. It was a such a beautiful thing to watch.

Hopefully Kincaid is back. Cinci is getting killed by opposing TEs. 100+ yards and a TD pretty much guaranteed.

Milano is playing a lot better too very recently and Shaq Thompson is available now. It’s tangentially related to Bernard being out but I don’t think it’s all an ‘addition by subtraction’ type thing with him Milano always seems straight up awful after coming back from injury then he goes on an absolute tear months later haha

I'm not sold on Vrabel at all - he had two good years with the Titans in an ass division and then fell apart to being fired. He is rolling with a hot team on a weak schedule Payton is on his third year with Denver, doesnt have a playoff victory. Is that BETTER than Sean? I'm not convinced. Harbaugh has been OK with an LA team that a lot of people were high on last year. 11-6 last year and whooped by the Texans in the wild card round. And all of that said, those guys need to want to come here too. Does Vrabel want to come to Buffalo? I wouldn't be convinced. Johnson has been the only young talented coordinator that I'd have considered letting Sean go for. He has created an offensive structure with his run game that is effective, and could potentially ease Allen's workload as the leader of the offense. With that said - Brady is quite capable, and with equal offensive talent to what detroit had last year, probably would have been the same hot candidate for teams to hire.

The last QB as impactful as Allen to not win a Super Bowl was Dan Marino. Its a pretty rare situation. Given his past history the Dolphins were never going to fire Don Shula. Sean McDermott has not earned the forebearance that Don Shula earned. In reality this is a unique situation in the history of the NFL.
