I’ve always been an advocate of developing players.. which is why you draft not for players in the upcoming season, but players in 1 or 2 seasons. Given that.. they need to start looking for TJs replacement soon, IMO. I think Beane has been pretty good at this mindset. Of course, not all players work out, but it takes a couple years to really find out. Which makes the draft misses so much more harmful. Bishop is a good example, if he continues to improve and stays healthy… next year; and for many more years, we’re set. If he doesn’t… the secondary is in trouble for years. But it takes faith, a solid and stable coaching staff to develop players, and a player willing to continue working on his game for it all to succeed.
