Currently, this team looks bad or a .500 ball club with far, far too many injuries. This no longer looks like a McD team but rather a Rex Ryan-type mess. I know it's only two losses, but it stems back to the Miami and Saints games. Even being unable to stop Derrick Henry in that first game. Undisciplined in the gap containment, blocking, and tackling. Poor play all around in some games. With the schedule ahead, if they continue on this path, they will be lucky to even have a winning record, much less make the playoffs. In 2023, McD fired and replaced Bills OC Ken Dorsey at 6-6. I wonder if he needs to do the same with Babich this year? -

Yeah I hate to boil it down to one move but that is the glaring mistake. There is no combination of defensive players that we're paying that I wouldn't give up for Metcalf's contract right now. Rousseau and Bernard in particular stick out. Their combined AAV alone just about pays for Metcalf's $33M. -

Sounds like the cowboys are done with Trevon diggs. He is not playing Sunday and they activated corner Caelon Carson this week. apparently he put his house for sale also. if I were the bills I wouldn’t take him If he came WITH a first round pick. -
Yes but what doesn’t?

It's just really hard to buy this given the total lack of any attempt to add one. He's made exactly 1 WR pick in the top 100 of the draft since 2021. In fact Shakir is the only WR other than Coleman that was a top 150 pick during that period. It's almost impossible to invest such a small amount into any position over 5 years, let alone a premium position. There have been several WR trades and signings made over the years that he has failed to make. It's pretty clear to me that he just doesn't value the position nearly to the level that he should. Beane spent all of the 2024 offseason resetting the team's salary cap to prepare for the 2nd window of Allen's career. He then used the vast majority of that freed up cap space to re-sign good but not great defensive players instead of using it on a legit offensive weapon. 3 of his top 4 free agent signings were defensive linemen. His first 5 picks were defensive players. If Beane "would love to have" a legit #1 WR he sure hasn't acted like it. You can't excuse the quality of the WR room away as just bad luck or bad timing. Repeatedly and intentionally he has valued every single position higher than WR. His words and his actions make it impossible to deny that. -
Mongolian heavy metal is pretty good. Can’t understand a word but it makes you want to get on a horse and raid some village.

This UB team just isn’t very good. Yes they are 4-3 and yes they are 3-0 in the conference but they have probably beat the 3 worst teams in the MAC by a combined 5 points. They have another “easy” MAC team in Akron next week but if they want a bowl game they probably need to win next weeks game

Don't you talk about Robert Duvall that way LOL... seriously though...no on Duvall. 🤣

Not sure how healthy Hariston’s knee is really. Coleman and Palmer can split time, I think Coleman can have an impact but these 50 50 sideline contested balls are a waste of time and downs. That’s on Brady, he needs to figure out how to best use Keon. -
These are the offense skill players from each of the college football finalists that made some sort of reasonable impact in the NFL, compared to the equivalent Penn State players each year. As we got more recent I made some judgement calls such as including Ja'lynn Polk (based on age) but excluding John Metchie or including guys like Wayne Gallman or Clyde Edwards-Helaire who did play several years in the league with some level of production (as opposed to Metchie was did basically nothing). We can nit-pick the list. The point is that with very few exceptions the teams in the Final had MUCH more NFL level offensive skill than Penn State did. Maybe the 2016 team had more eventual NFL skill players than Clemson did, but the gap at QB was so huge between Deshaun Watson and Trace McSorley that it didn't matter. This doesn't even touch OL or defense which ignores Clemson having Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins at the same time, and all the ridiculous talent Alabama and UGA have turned out on that side of the ball over the years. Teams won without amazing NFL QBs. Nobody won without NFL level skill players. Bottom line. Franklin didn't recruit well enough to take Penn State where it wants to go. He never got an NFL caliber QB (I'm sorry, Drew Allar is terrible). Outside of Godwin, he never really had an impact NFL level WR. He had a couple TEs but TEs are generally complementary pieces. He had Saquon Barkley, sure. Look what Alabama had in Barkley's last season (2017). Recruiting is and was the name of the game. Now with the portal and NIL money and massive conference money flowing in it's more important than ever and Franklin was never good enough. 2014 Ohio State v Oregon Ohio State - Michael Thomas, Zeke Elliott, Curtis Samuel Oregon - Marcus Mariota (?) Might be the case. If we land a corner, then what of Hairston? I’m definitely down for a S, I just don’t know I’ve been more positive about Keon than most. My biggest fear with him is that there aren’t enough slot snaps for him with Shakir and Kincaid and he’s just a big risk in the outside at the moment. It’s tough to count on him to win. Not sure Brady knows how to use his abilities to our advantage. I’d rather pair Palmer and a true outside winner. I think Palmer has the ability feast on most cb2 in our system. -
I am the biggest Josh Allen homer in the world. He is my favorite athlete to root for, ever. I am considering getting a 17 tattoo. That said - the past few games (New Orleans included), it has been hard not to notice the dissonance between all of the commercials and media attention he is featured in, and his inability to execute basic handoffs and diagnose blitzes properly. His mechanics and throws have been mostly fine, he’s still elite, but yet - the details have been off, and one inevitably starts to wonder about his focus. But you could also say the same thing about the o line and offense as a whole - they just seem distracted and complacent, which they can’t afford to be given their lack of talent at WR and lack of a true innovator at OC. They have some big games coming up and it’ll be interesting to see whether they start to get it together and clean up the pre-snap nonsense. Because that to me tells me where their level of focus is.

You keep saying this like everyone knew about this except for Beane, who had dozen or so options how to deal with this. In truth the only option available was Metcalf and then maybe Pickens, who is a head case. I don't remember any other realistic option how to add true WR1, draft or FA. Beane decided that Metcalf was not worth draft picks AND $30m+ AAV (probably, since we don't know if DK himself wanted to come here and what was Seattle's asking price towards us). Was it a good decision? I don't know, probably not. But it was like an only option to do something. His rant was stupid and unprofessional. But I don't think it meant he was satisfied with our WR room. It is just way tougher to do something with it when you and most posters here make it. I really don't think that "everybody eats" is something they believe in, they are just forced to say it since we don't have true WR1. I am pretty sure Beane would love to have one. EDIT: If you want Beane's head for not getting Metcalf and going all in with his contract, then that's fair. But let's not pretend there were other realistic options to get WR1.
