  1. Past hour
  2. He is also 31 years old and likely past his prime. Maybe why he leads league in false starts also. He is one of way too many on this team who are vibes guys first. Too many on this team think a Super Bowl would be nice, but doesn’t represent the undying goal to chase at ANY cost.
  3. Even my wife, who knows diddly poo about football, noticed it and called it out last night.
  4. Yes, I noticed that too. Here is what makes it worse. Allen is amazing at avoiding the first rusher...if there is only one rusher getting through. What is much harder is avoiding that first guy and, because someone else begins to ease up on a block, there is no where to go. You don't even have to give up on the block completely for this to be a problem. You just have to lose a little intensity. Finishing your blocks should not be just for run plays. Stay engaged/connected to your man. You know Josh can scramble so your job is not done when you stop the initial rush. Make the guy work hard to get off your block before he can chase Allen.
  5. Rousseau is a solid player. Benford was good but is injury prone now. Same with Bernard whose contract was a lot lighter. Shakir is a good player. Cook is an All Pro. And who else was available to give that money to? The problem has always been the defensive scheme and that McDermott values guys who can run his complicated scheme over size and speed. And you end up with a ton of injuries then having to recycle washed up guys who know the system.
  6. It's an offense that is among the best in the league when Allen is playing at an elite level. The problem is NO QB in the history of the NFL can play at an elite level every week. The Bills have chosen to not structure their roster to take full advantage of their uniquely gifted QB. They have instead changed their offensive philosophy to compliment their defense while directing the lions share of resources to that defense. Unfortunately they have failed at both efforts: Their D is bad and they have not provided their MVP level QB with the weapons needed to fully exploit his skill set. This is not rocket science and should be obvious to every Bills fans that's been paying attention to the last 6 years. The alternative is to do what way to many Bills fans do: nibble around at the edges of the problem by blaming injury's or Allen for not taking the easy completions. Come on folks we know what the real problem is.
  7. I often wonder what McDermott's ideal defense actually would look like if brought to fruition. Would it look anything like Houston's D did last night? Anything like Cleveland? We've invested an awful lot of draft capital and cash money into this defense. 8 years into the process and even with all the money spent and draft picks used -- I don't know that we've ever put on the type of a clinic that Houston put on us last night. Remember a touchdown was brought by special teams so the offense itself really only produced 9 points. To put it another way-- if you have Demeco Ryans call plays for our defense and put McDermott in charge of that Houston D, what does this past game look like? Does our offense still get smothered and suffocated into oblivion-- or does Allen sit back with no pressure and pick them apart while Davis Mills gets tortured?
  8. Our #1 WR for the majority of last season was Cooper and he’s retired. The WR that led the team in scoring was Hollins and he plays for the Pats now. It’s not like it’s the same guys out there.
  9. That game was frustrating to watch, but others have been really enjoyable.
  10. Not sure "well it probably might happen" is a strong enough plan - but here's hoping! If we get there, they need to get their heads out their ass to even find out if this is true or not
  11. I think we all need to stop our bitchin about the wide receivers, after all the team did score a lot of points last year.
  12. You're Joe Brady and had to sit there from the 2024 AFC CG loss to opening day. And in all that time, the GM and HC hand you 1 (EDIT: new) offensive player who'll receiving at least moderate snaps in Josh Palmer. Nothing else. And that's because HC and GM were offensively lazy and assumed similar production with Josh Allen and improvements from unproven players. Still, this is a discussion of to which degree who is at fault. Brady, sure but this problem goes all the way upstream. Football philosophy -> Scheme -> Personnel -> Coaching -> Game Planning -> Play Calls -> Plays The issues in multiple games are rooted in decisions made this off-season which were wrong and avoided a true deep-dive. They chose to run it back...again.
  13. The Bills roster and cap situation is a mess. I believe you let Edwards and McGovern walk especially if you believe their replacements are already on the roster. You’ll probably get comp picks for those two. Draft a WR1 even if it requires a trade up. That’s where I would start. The defense is a royal mess.
  14. Seriously pissed me off all night watching him give up and stand there
  15. He's ... drifting.
  16. As long as houstons D and the chiefs with their strong defense and O both get knocked out of playoffs spots, the bills can be seeded anywhere and make a run realistically
  17. Go look at RAS for our guys, almost to a man elite speed They're slow because of the scheme
  18. Dawkins just stops. Josh is scrambling around, and he is standing there. HIT SOMEONE MAN! He is going to get his QB killed.
  19. Yup. Most people probably didn’t watch much of it due to the Chiefs game being on, but that Ravens/Browns game was almost play for play what Bills/Texans was last night. Difference being the Ravens Defense did what you’d expect a Playoff team to do to a bad Offense. Mills is obviously better than Sanders, but 20 points in a half is absolutely wild.
  20. We aren't able to pressure opposing QB's. That really stands out. I'd love to add, "but at least we're stout against the run."
  21. Houston defense is #1 in the NFL in different categories while Tampa defense is in the bottom quarter in many categories...so it is not apples ot apples comparison. The Houston defense came to play on National team and beat up our OL....Their front four had the fiercest pass rush that Allen has seen only today in his career....they were relentless. Sean is not in the same league as Peyton, McVay etc. He may not even be in Vrabel's league Houston defense is #1 in the NFL in different categories while Tampa defense is in the bottom quarter in many categories...so it is not apples ot apples comparison.
