He’s nowhere near 100% with a brace on like that. Obviously if he’s wearing a brace he’s not 100%. I’d say the brace gets him to 85%…. Then add on game ready percentages. Don’t be surprised if Max isn’t back in the roster until mid November….. That will give him 8 games prior to playoffs. Priority to that is the NFL trade deadline. CB may be one of those positions we go after. Max will not be 100% physically or game ready schematically this year. Knowing McD, he may not see the field. If he does it will be limited reps, down and distance and won’t be for another 5-6 games IMO.

James Cook AFC Offensive Player of the Month (September 2025)!
Cray51 replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great to see. I was a fan of getting him signed, but wasn't sure if $15M would be worth it. To be honest, I still am not 100% that $15M a year made sense, but to get him done at $12M was a GREAT deal. Which doesn't kick in until next year to boot! -
James Cook AFC Offensive Player of the Month (September 2025)!

Yes. Another couple mil a year wouldve been easy to find to keep him happy and prevent any future renegotiation. I'm really not trying to make that argument, I didnt wake up and log on to say this, just discussing it in the context of this thread and when someone mentioned he's already underpaid. -

4 were after allen came out of the game, as did the entire left side of the offensive line. But lets all judge a guy for 7 carries across 3 games. -

I hope we dont end up with a Cook injury to figure this out. At this rate it is much more likely. -

So based on 11 carries for the year and 8 of them came in the Jets game, likely in the 4th quarter playing with all other backups, you can figure all this out that he's no good?? -
3rd round draft pick snap counts
Alphadawg7 replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook has never been great at pass pro, but he was certainly a lot worse at it early in his career, and I am sure that factored in along with the fact they really liked Devin as well. And we also frustratingly just didn't run the ball enough or as effectively as we do now back then. For the drops, I honestly don't remember if it was a thing or not his rookier year. But I believe it was in year 2 where he dropped at least 4, possibly 5 would be TD's. Funny, he didn't seem to drop a lot of other passes, but it was those routes (like a wheel route) more where he had to catch it further down field tracking the ball looking back for it that he just would muff, the kind of passes Ty makes look routine where ones that were Cooks kryptonite. The team seems to understand that now and Cook doesn't get a lot of those looks anymore and they throw those most often to Ty. -
Life can fly by. On this day 44 years ago ago, I was sitting enjoying some coffee with my cousin Lyle enjoying our Java. An ambulance went screaming by and we didn’t even give it a second thought. We found out later that it was our uncle Eugene. He died that day. October 2, 1981. I’m not one to preach but pay attention to your loved ones and things around you. It’s all important. 44 years later and still some guilt.

I’m interested in getting to the bottom of this. What “liberty” are you afraid of losing? What are you unable to do right now that you feel MAGA cuts will help you accomplish?

2025 Trade Ideas Prior to the Deadline
HappyDays replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
How would you feel about Rashid Shaheed? 1 year deal which makes a trade palatable, gives us the vertical element that we're missing. I don't think a true stud WR is in the cards so I'm trying to think about realistic options. -
i thought we'd look better against the aint's than we did, but i think we walk on the pats this sunday night. big early lead and once they stop running the ball they just won't be able to keep up with us.

I don’t think either have looked great this season. From what I can recall however, it seems like most of their rushing attempts were in obvious running situations and there was a whole lot of daylight. I remember earlier in the season Ty Johnson dropped a sure TD on the route he ran to success in Detroit. Its still early though and there’s time to turn things around for them -

Nice to see a player get paid and then live up to the contract (that's right, I'm giving the side-eye to you, Rousseau). -

I have pretty strong feelings on this. Davis seems like a fantastic guy. He also is the worst player on the 53 IMO. His feet are so slow. He’s Zack Moss. I’d certainly give Gore a chance. I’d trade Davis for whatever I could get. I’d just draft another RB in 2026 in the middle rounds. -
If he can get up to speed and healthy and can get into games by even mid November then there's still a lot of football left where he could contribute

Is Hawes in the process of surpassing Knox as TE2??
colin replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
the only thing that has come close to stopping our multiple tight end/heavy jumbo package was when miami trotted out 5 or 6 DL and we arrogantly ran right into it. cook still lit that game up. i think brady has to get just a little bit less creative at times and stick to his guns a bit (more play action vs NO was a good sign of this, means we aren't just throwing out a million different looks all game), but having 8 blockers, cook, and coleman on the field w allen is kind of disgusting. as i see it, the two biggest threats to us winning a chip (aside from injuries obv) are the chiefs and the iggles. both run a similar to ours cover 2 type scheme/nickel base, but kc blitzes with the best of them and philly has monsters inc on their line. the answer to that is catching them w 2 lbs on the pitch and physically mauling them along with play action, which i think we do better than anyone. 4 of the 6 rings brady got w ne was from sound d and run, and being able to pass short medium and long with multiple combos of tight ends on the field, we should copy that and make 2 te sets our sort of offensive base. we already know we can spread well, even with lack luster wrs. last season houston gave us fits (as did baltimore) since we could not stress the d outside the numbers. a multiple te set with actual talent changes the game there and put the advantage back to us. also, i think dalton kinky has been our most improved player year to date. -

Davis hasn't looked great this year. But Cook has been so much better in short yardage and yards after contact this year that Davis just isn't getting the opportunities. I'm pretty dubious about his weight loss this offseason. Seems not a smart move for a power back, but what do I know. He's low cost so I doubt any changes happen this year. I'm a tiny bit concerned about Johnson, his strong suit is the passing game, and he has had a few unexpected drops this year. Again here Cook seems to be doing better catching the ball (normally short passes) and he is a yac machine. I'd be really surprised to see any RB moves unless there are injuries. Bills have far bigger issues on defense and need to use any capital or practice squad call-ups there IMO. -

Davis yards before contact is currently 1.2, league average is 2.4. He doesn't have the carries to show up on a league list - but there are 5 backs with a sub 1.5 yards before contact with the qualifying number of carries. Charbonnet - 2.5 yards per carry Warren - 3.1 yards per carry Conner - 3 yards per carry Brown - 2.3 yards per carry Jeanty - 4.1 yards per carry - Helped tremendously by a 64 yard carry. Without that he'd be averaging 3.2 yards per carry. He hasn't had the touches to get in a rhythm, and the run blocking has likely been worse during his limited snaps. -
It's both a compliment and an insult. It speaks to one's ability to get people to engage with their content - usually in the form of a controversial or outrageous take. I applied it to your thread here mostly because of the all-capped "NOW" implying that holding a team to 19 points and less than 300 yards was some sort of five alarm fire situation. I think you're wrong on the "hot seat" notion, but I do share concerns with you about the defense holding up against better teams and I would have preferred to see them dominate against the Fins and Saints at home the way they did in New Jersey. I think it's mostly execution on the part of a young secondary and missing some key players in the middle, but could McDermott calling plays lead to a better performance? Maybe. Or maybe even probably given McD's track record. We are only four games into the season and the D hasn't cost us a game yet, so I'll exercise patience for now. We have a few decent tests sprinkled in over the next six weeks (Pats, Chiefs, Bucs) and should have a better idea of where we stand then.

Where’s the juice at the position of Wide Receiver?
The Jokeman replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
What impact exactly, allow our offense to score 34-40 points per game compared to the 33 we at now? No Rousseau on defense, how many points per game we given up then? Maybe more than now which means we likely don't comeback against the Ravens as we did. Our offense or offensive players are not an issue and improving them and taking up cap space to me a foolish thing when we have such an average defense. -

James Cook AFC Offensive Player of the Month (September 2025)!
Doc Brown replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. Bad teams pay aging veterans who don't have much juice left for what they did in the past. We paid Allen twice for what he did in the past because we projected he'll only get better in the future. Are you trying to argue Beane should've signed Cook to a larger contract?
